heh, stock doesn't always mean "monetary value".

consider time-invested, the fact that she has to actually put up with PMs, reported posts (which, im guessing, some of those might have been), etc etc.

so yeah, morwen, myrrh, audino, iso, and the rest of the mod staff have a considerable amount of "stock" in this site. you don't necessarily have to agree with them, but you are expected to respect the rules they set forth.
 
Yes, but look at the quotes. They're flamebaits themselves. Moderators are not above the rules they enforce.

Sticking to the rules and being consistent is crappy mod ethics? Interesting, people were bitching because there was no consistency in moderation and because rules weren't enforced. Can't have it both ways.

People don't need to be derailing in a non-flameboard discussion, they don't need to be flame-baiting outside the flameboard, and they don't need to be going off about issues in the wrong forum. I fail to see where that's crappy moderation.

Agreed, didn't say it was crappy moderation. She was doing what was suppose to be done. Just the way it was done which I believe was incorrect.

If you're referring to the "no rest for the wicked" thing, that's an adopted Morwenism about herself, not them, although I can see where that'd be misunderstood.

She's right again. It's not just a moderator rule, it's an administration rule not to flamebait anywhere outside the flameboard. That's why it's there, anyone who had visited the site in the past two weeks could see the thread on page 1 of the FB that was referenced, and it wasn't necessary at all.
 
As a mod there's no need for "don't be a douche" "shut the hell up" "tone it down, or else" type posts.
 
I don't see the more professional mods doing it, but besides that, some of you are completely missing the point, but I guess that's what the short bus is for.
