I doubt it will take effect.

Does anyone remember Nuki? From Ordelle's Caves?

Last year, his "Sonicteam & members" were apparently removed/perma banned from the server.

Unfortunatly, I still see Nuki around. (Same Taru model/gimp equip)

GG SE.

It's called public relations, and it's no coincidence that this info release has come at this time...Just as SE is trying to generate a buzz amongst Xbox 360 users.

lol all the main gilseller that people know are still there so i guess none of that 700 was on are server. like it was said somewhere se is just trying to put a possitive spin on there product so people will buy it when the new expansion and 360 version comes out. Though it seem large has steer away from sozu latly wonder why that is:evilsmile:. SE will not do anything to the rmt because the rmt make it harder for the honest player to get what they want and thous keeping them playing the game. Though prices have began drop expect anouther spree around summer vaction time.

It's far more likely that SE deleted the characters that actually HELD all of the gil, which are the characters that no one other than gil buyers(who got the gil from them) and gil sellers(who send the gil to them) are aware of the names. The gil sellers that everyone knows are just the grunts, they get the gil and pass it to other people to distribute to gil buyers. By hitting the people who actually held all of the gil and sent it out to the buyers, SE made a much bigger impact on the gil selling market than just deleting the gil earners.

The last time they deleted the gil sellers who camped hnm's the next batch of gil sellers was camping hnm's within a week, so taking out the earners obviously doesn't really hurt companies like IGE. This move was a swift kick in the balls to gil sellers, and it's results were almost instantaneous as has been shown in the few threads about how gil prices have gone up significantly.

Sniper's won't fall back, they didn't increase due to inflation alone.

hur archers rings being moved to BC.

Why can't SE just type in "gil" or something on Google to find all gilselling sites and sue them? =/ What's so hard about it? Those banners and ads are ALL over the place in nearly every FFXI-related site.

because they arent techincly selling anything. they're selling the "time" of farming the gil, and just happen to be sending gil to that person.

It's easy to find them but very hard to sue. There are lots of old threads about this you might find interesting.

So then you're calling it a service, and not a product they are selling. Either way results in the trade of an in-game currency that SE has created. It's their property, and it's being resold by a third-party. That's against SE's policies, and it's obvious on the sites that it says they are selling you gil. That's enough for them to get in a lawsuit. :/

but not to win one. SE tried already i believe

Lol, really? That's interesting.

I don't think it was SE, but the company that made Everquest or some other MMO who tried a lawsuit. The idiot judge basically said "it's your digital property, you can do what you want with it" even though it's expressly forbidden in the ToS.

http://www.qcdn.org/showthread.php?t=14335

The first problem is proving that the gil selling company accepted the ToS and is therefore a party to the contract.

Then they would have to prove damages which is problematic in 2 ways. SE doesn't sell gil, so how do they prove they're losing revenue? Also, SE's ToS provides for a remedy - account cancellation - which may prevent them from seeking monetary damages (I haven't read the ToS in a while - can't remember if it explicitly allows them to seek monetary damages).

Pointless speculation, but what if SE went and bought gil from IGE? Couple hundred bucks out of their pocket would get them the account of at least one seller on every server. Unless the seller pulls the "(mistake) (I'm sorry) (money) (You can have this.)" card... man I love answering my own questions. And then posting anyways to further my retardation.

Don't worry I don't think anyone can read the post with that avatar too stare at LOL

It's not as simple as just filing a lawsuit against someone and then the problem is solved. First of all, those companies that run those gil selling sites may be in countries that are completely outside of the jurisdiction of any court in the United States, Europe, or Japan. Secondly, even if the lawsuit were to somehow stick, you have to be able to track down each individual account involved and exactly how they were involved and that is going to take a lot of time, money, and man-hours. Something that isn't going to be very cost-effective. Third, if you screw up even the tiniest little bit, it can completely destroy your case. In the judicial system, technicalities are your best friend or your worst enemy. Finally, even if you shut down one site, 10 more are going to pop up in its place overnight. Just look at the internet porn industry. It's basically a lose-lose cause for SE, especially from a financial standpoint.

not a lot of noob are high level crafter since gil price increase by like 1000% lol and price on stuff is going down, yay!!! :D

and btw 300billion gil toss away = all server not only Quetz lol

Edit: No wonder Quetz gil on IGE was sold out o.O

well I don't think people will dumb enough to spend $150 for 10mil gil lol

go buy some 3 PC games then buying gil that won't last long lol
