Rude JP...

Hate to side against you on this ruffy, but when he said "searching with /nin", you said "OK <understood>. Know what that translates too? "Ok, you can go /nin". His innitial response could have been because he would now have to go change to tanking gear, not that he wouldn't do it. You said you gave him a whole "1 minute" to respond to the 2nd request? If you notice, he didn't send you a /tell for at least a short time after getting booted. Could it be, when you agreed to him going /nin (ok <understood>) he went afk for a minute or 2? Maybe there was a language barrier, just not with him, but with you. In the future, pick your auto-translated words/phrases a little better. (I btw, rarely have problems with JPN being rude, I tend to get alot worse from some NA players, and I think it's due to impatience, this is an mmo, you don't have time? go play WoW)

Oooh, I didn't even see that, I think you just won the thread. Did anyone else bring that up?

dont think so...lol u sir r a winnar! *gives a trophey*

Hmm, you are right there. If you think about it you probably were confusing the guy a great deal. And it does seem like you were a little quick to boot him.

However I still feel jyak is failing in his arguement. It really doesnt matter what you sub when your seeking, I could invite and pld/pup...ignoring his sub, just expecting him to change to the correct sub (war) for the pt. Also cant figure out why you keep bringing up that he booted a "Jp" pld. Who cares if he's jp, your acting as if he deserves better treatment.

probably the only valid point made in the entire thread, which makes sense. I didnt mean <Understood.> in that context, but I see how it could have been taken that way.

Ewok definitely has the point. If you're uncomfortable using auto-translate or inviting or speaking to Japanese players because of the language barrier, then momentarily pass lead to someone who doesn't, or don't invite them at all. It's that simple. No need to be rude about it.

And here's another point to consider. People seek under all sorts of job combinations for plenty of reasons. Some are farming while they wait /thf, some are soloing /nin, some are simply trying something out. If someone doesn't specifically list subjobs in their /seacom, and you don't say when you ask them to party, "{Please} {subjob} ______" then that's your error and your problem. Most people are willing to change their sub if they are asked before they leave or will flat out tell you they don't have the sub you want or will bow out of the party if they so choose.

The issue was never should he have a /war or should he have done it when you asked him or should he or shouldn't he have gotten pissed when you were rude to him. The issue was that you needed to not make assumptions about someone seeking on a particular job combination, and needed to be a better leader by making sure he had your desired subjob before he left. I'm not knocking you Ruffy, I'm just saying you're a little fast to say he was a "rude JP" when you were clearly not communicating effectively with him.

*Ninja edit* Ruffy obviously didnt ask the PLD what subjobs he had available... Because He was invited before asking to change to /war

Why would he? Is there a single pld on quetzalcoatl who doesn't have his /war leveled and not available? I would assume that too and spliting hairs cause your not sure how long he waited in between requests is just argueing for the sake of it. He was asked twice and that's one more time then he needed to.

Did you guys seriously just waste 11 pages trying to diss ruffy for asking a pld to use a proper SJ in an exp party?

The debate seems to be if the JP was rude or if Ruffy was for booting him. The player, because in all honest who cares if he was JP, NA, or Martian, trying to inflict his Pld/nin gimpness on an exp party, and the fact some people are trying to rationalize this, seems to be the biggest issue here.

No, the biggest issue is people like you crying lolgimporz without reading all the facts. Ruffy made an assumption he would change subs rather than ask. I'd go out on a limb and say that... wow a PLD probably did in fact have a /war sub. The problem was how it was addressed. A) Assure that if someone is seeking on an unorthodox job combo that you ask them to change their sub before, not after they get to the party and B) Don't be a dick about it and try to turn around and make it like they did something wrong because you didn't bother to look/ask. Had Ruffy asked him prior to his leaving, I'm sure it would not have been a big deal and the guy probably wouldn't have gone off like that.

It isn't people rationalizing having a "gimp" sub. It's people realizing that it isn't exactly this Japanese players problem if Ruffy didn't read what sub the guy was on or his /seacom (if he had one) and couldn't communicate what he wanted properly. You can't say "ok" or "understood" to the guy then boot him when he gets there. That's ridiculous and the guy had a right to be pissed.

Sorry had to come back after reading this.

This is the point we have been trying to put across for about 10 pages worth of Ruffy trying to Justify thinking he was the "Oh im holier than thou" attitude. You were in the wrong Ruffy dont act like you weren't. Oh and secondly like ive said several times, stop acting so hypocritical.

lol, Ive only replied on but a few pages, not even read 75% of the thread, because its simply full of people bitching about me, lol. If everyones got such a problem with me, make a flame on me, I support it. Ive requested it more than enough times. But wait... There really isnt much at all, other than little personal grudges.

I never put up a 'holier than thou' attitude, but you surely are. If my response ever shows up in a thread you read, you simply cant help but reply in some way that you think is clever and makes your epeen grow a bit longer.

Not once was I a hypocrite, and I explained that already. Youre only digging for dirt, thats all. Will you stop acting so elementary? Youre acting like a child that dropped his ice cream.

As far as hypocrisy goes, didnt you say you were finished?

When I seek on my PLD, I always have WAR subbed. Could be because I don't care too much about dealing damage as a Paladin since I spent 65 levels of it keeping hate off everyone else.

Honestly, I think both of you were wrong. Him for not offering the sj he's meant to have and then asking "Hey, can I sub NIN instead?" and you 'supposedly' not giving him a chance to answer.

Meh, I was solo/seeking on my SMN/NIN.

Some parties accepted like that, others asked to change. Either way, its up to the party leader to confirm the choice ahead of time.

I hate to bring this up Ruffy, but no one has to start a flame on you. Any flame you start gets turned around on you so it's pretty much done for them.

Peace,
Shmed

Go back and read my post above. He basically said it was ok for the PLD to sub NIN, even if it was on accident. Doesn't matter how long he waited, he asked once, the PLD mentioned he was seeking on /nin, and Ruffy said OK <understood>, which basically means "yes you can sub nin". The second time he asked was irrelevant, the PLD probably went afk for a minute or 2 prior to the party starting. Hell, his tells later talking about how he would sub war proves this point. It wasn't that Ruffy wanted him to change subs, and he refused.... it was miscommunication on Ruffy's part, and not allowing enough time for it to be cleared up. Btw, it does matter that he was Jpn, if you look, though he could speak (type) english, it was broken english, which probably means he still has to take a little time with reading some phrases.
