A friend of mine put this on his facebook and some of them i couldn't stop laughing after i read.

"What's "Non Sequitur"? Do i have to look it up in a fag-to-english dictionary?" is my favorite.

After posting some of the things got kinda small. Direct link is here (click click).

That's hilarious. I agree about the non sequitur bit... LOL

That is freaking brilliant, haha. I love the bit about "heterosexual marriage is sacred" ---> Britney Spears.

I like the Ghostbusters comment.

Also:

"Homosexuality is a CHOICE!" "Did you "choose" to be straight?" "NO, God made ME a heterosexual!"

... /sigh

Im a Christian that believes homosexuals have rights. I'm going to hell /sadface.

We can't all be angry man hating lesbians, Mire D:

Cut all that shit out and just put this in one big bubble:

Marriage has been ruled a fundamental right in Loving vs. Virgina. >>> You marry the person you love. >>> Homosexuals aren't able to marry who they love. >>> CONFLICT.

I get your sarcasm here, but I feel I should note this anyway. I don't recall the Bible ever saying Homosexuality is a sin, just that it is -unnatural-. You can chalk all the religious babel up to the religious of society (majority, not all) being too stupid too interpret their own set of moral guidelines. Hypocrisy at its finest imo, just like durin' Slavery and Suffrage.

If gay people wanted to be married they'd be straight.

All instances of homosexual acts being condemned include acts of rape to my knowledge so basically it's just saying that rape is just as bad if you're raping a man instead of a woman.

"If there is a man who lies with a male as those who lie with a woman, both of them have committed a detestable act; they shall surely be put to death. Their bloodguiltiness is upon them." -- Leviticus 20:13

Not exactly a ringing endorsement. Pretty clear they're saying that's sinful and wrong. It also condemns eating shellfish and wearing poly-cotton blends, but modern-day bigots ignore those parts as "quaint."

Modern-day anyone should ignore the entirety of Leviticus anyway. It was Hebrew Mosaic Law, and most of the people I see wielding "God Hates Fags" picket signs certainly don't look Jewish to me...

Man, I haven't participated in a good, intelligent(emphasis) religious discussion in a long time.

I'm overdue.

The roman catholic church kinda declared shellfish, pork, blends, etc ok to do almost immediately after Christianity became official.

But Halifirien does have a point though, that a pick-and-choose reading of a Book of Law from the Bible makes about as much sense (then, or now) as does picking and choosing which parts of Local Ordnances to enforce.

That chart had me whirling!

I love it though, these are the classic halfassed arguments you hear from empty shell 'believers' that just regurgitate everything that's been shoved down their throats.

I love closed minded peeps, they're a great source of entertainment.

Yeah except his example wasn't an example of pick&choose like he presented it to be. To take the law metaphor(since before there was governmental law among the jewish peoples the religious teachings partially comprised themselves as law) would letting black people into a restaurant constitute hyprocritial picking and choosing when there used to be laws preventing that which were changed before the restaurant employee or owner was even born?

No, it wouldn't - building on the law metaphor, it would be like taking single parts of Jim Crow Laws and applying them, while repealing certain parts of them.

Your example doesn't necessarily highlight any hypocrisy, purely because all Jim Crow Laws were repealed - there aren't some parts of them that still exist in any fashion, and anyone who does act as such are punished accordingly by the law.

(Bear in mind, the Leviticus Laws don't exist anymore either, insofar as governments of advanced nations do not stone to death those who "lie with a man as you would a woman", so you could argue that, like the Jim Crow Laws, the annihilation of their use in society doesn't necessarily mean that every single person automatically likes people of other racial background, just as repealing Mosaic Law doesn't automatically mean everyone thinks homosexuality isn't an abomination.)

one question, why does the fact of whether or not its considered a sin, have any relation to whether or not it should be legal?

Last I checked premarital sex was a sin, yet not illegal.

separation of church and state anyone?
