Ok I know most people in here probably would not agree with me and probably think I am crazy but here is the story anyways.

So my friend inadvertantly put her Ochiudo's Kote on sale on the AH. She meant to sell another item and put the kote on AH. Before she could cancel the sale it was already sold and for a measly 75k. Of course my friend was very frustarated and didn't know what to do. She told me and I tried to help her out the best I could.

I contanted the person today, a couple of days later, and the asshole already sold the kote. To a friend no less for dirt cheap gil. Now most of you are saying well the person got lucky and she did mess up, but how many here have actually done soemthing similar or gotten "lucky" like this and done the right thing? Now if it was me I would have contacted the seller and returned the item. More than likely the seller would give a reward to the person because I have known friends who have had this ahppen to them before. But no, he absolutely refused. Its within his right I agree but thats weak and only an asshole would do such a thing. His excuse was she bought a kote 6 hours later with gil she had so she didn't need it as much and his friend was on the verge of quitting because he could not get the kote. So the fuck what? She spent her time farming instead of your useless whiny asshole friend who cries instead of farming.

Now before anyone starts yelling at me telling me I wouldn't do the same thing, I have. I've had people bid on a single item and meant to by a stack. Although thats not as large a scale as the kote I still returned the person their money. I felt it was the right thing to do but I guess people like that a few and far between these days. If he really was a friend he would understand that you should return the items to the seller, but no his greed took over and he didn't care about anyone but himself. I know this is hypocritical since I am only concerned with my friends misfortune but even still he was more than assured free gil being a good samaritan.

Yes, I know I am quite mad at the moment and more than likely someone is going to tell me I am a bitch but I don't care. I am just angry some people are complete jerks like this and its not just Sanoske. It happens all the time and people dismiss it likes its normal when its flat out wrong.

Saw this one coming...

Don't know what to say. If I got something for dirt cheap on AH I would contact the person that sold it but that's just me. I wouldn't call someone an asshole for capitalizing on someone else's mistake. Or maybe I would. Never has happened to me so I couldn't say.

I did once have a Emp Pin in AH for 50k for 4 hours on accident. Luckily no one bought it.

Strangely enough, according to AH sales Mystangel bought another pair of Ochiudo's Kotes about 6 hours after your sale. For 790k.

Uh-Oh.

Something, even a fraction of the going rate, in addition to what was paid would be a nice gesture considering this was a mistake.

The flipside is that it was a mistake. Whereas the person may not be trying to capitalize on this, they just managed to. They lucked out. God knows, there is more money to be spent in this game.

Personally, I'd be MUCH more careful selling high priced items, than a stack of beehive chips, but that's me. I say, it sucks, but you've actually got no grounds to demand any compensation. Unfortunate or not.

well his other post said he bought em for his friend, there for not his greed, he was tryn to be nice to his friend, at any cost id think, it was a mistake, i dont know what to say, i dunno wut i wuld have done, anyway, go hunt another1? maybe? and dont fuck up this time? i dunno... just me

And remember kids, when you rush. That is when Accidents happen. I remember if I sold anyfor for over 50k, I double checked to make sure I put in the right price.

Your friend made a mistake, it is her/his fault and should deal with the reprecussion accordingly.

I've got a situation that may or may not have some relevance. A few months back, I was selling beetle shells to the vendor. At the time, I almost sold my vermillion cloak, for a measly 4k. I had clicked it once, bringing up the price I'd get, clicked it again and had my finger about to make the sale when I realized what I was doing.
Now, if I had clicked enter one more time, what are the ramifications? Millions of gil lost because of a stupid mistake. Not fair at all, really. But who am I going to complain to? Am I going to yell at the NPC? Am I going to yell up customer support and bitch(I wouldn't put it past some people)
The only difference here is this mistake is possible to rectify, but there's no standard of fairness. If the standard is to assume people are allowed to "undo" sales, then where will this end? What about people who put items up for cheap because they wish to cut ahead in line. Then they get burned. That's life, yanno? Even justice some say.
Now maybe you would feel in his place that you would tradeback, and I have been in similar situations and traded back, but this is 100% a personal judgement. If he doesn't want to give it back, it's really better for her to simply think of her as accidentally selling it to a NPC, cause that's all that really happened. No tradebacks.

I don't know how you'd mess this up on the new AH system..it asks you like 6 gazgillion times if that's the price you want to sell it at... :?

She was selling something else and ended up putting up kote. I suppose it makes sense that she just looked at price or something...>.>

And personally I agree with fire. Your friend made a mistake and someone else gained from it. Deal with it, it was her fault to begin with ^^

 i guuess, or he/she was selling kote and wanted 750k? but missed the 0? i dunno owell blindness or rushing gets u fuxord in zeh assorz

Sanoske posts here, and is in our LS. He'll respond. He was just like wow I got real lucky. If your freind had enough money to be another pair of Kote why didnt they buy theirs back right away?

Lavi said it and i also said it...the person put it up by mistake instead of something else.

It sucks this happened but if I was Sano I would of assumed someone was just trying to get their item sold the quickest, like all those assholes that put shit up for 1 gil just so theirs goes first.

I probably would of given it back or at least some of the monies I made off it back...he did give it to a friend though and that's kind of a hard situation for him to deal with. "Gee you know that item you've been shitting your pants about? I want it back now"....

Even if she was meaning to put something else up or trying to sell it for 750k and forgot the 0, she still freakin rushed it.

Big Red Gloves in image popping up on your screen like 3 times, or beehive chips...I mean obviously she was careless.

Shitty situation but mistakes happen and you have to deal with consequences....I mean look at Vang's situation with the strider boots...he vented and then delt with the consequences of his actions, as shitty as the situation was.

If it weren't for QCDN, it would never go this far.
It would be a mistake, and the seller would kick themselves, period.

Haha, I wouldn't quite say Vang just let it go. Think of the 20 page posts. And then think of the 20 page posts responding to the first 20 page post. Then the later threads defining the attutide of the thread defining the original post.

He seems to be laughing it off at this point. My point is you know you can't change it, come on here and rant your ass off if it makes you feel better and then move on.

It's not like this is going to destroy her FFXI career...I mean she has another pair right? Shitty she lost 750k worth of Red mitts but there's nothing she can really do.

Speaking as someone who has bid 10k the amount of an object before... yea that sucks when it happens but from Sano's point of view your friend was trying to cheat the AH and got burned. And he already sold the Kote (I would know cause I bought em) so yea... your outa luck on that one.
