Well like I told him, I'm glad you found something useful to do with the money and didn't blow it on whores and beer. I would've just recommended keeping that tidbit of info to yourselves since even if people won't say it to your face, they aren't going to look at you the same again now that they know you are a part of what's ruining their gameplay experience. I never had an internet feed nor an xbl account until I got FFXI. Because my want to play FFXI I pay $60p/month for my internet, $15p/month for my characters and an additional $60p/year for my xbl membership.

My point was only to outline the amount one could spend $$$ wise playing a game for several years to possibly walk away with nothing and a couple thousand dollars less. Also not counting the RL time spent.

Just so everyone in here may get an IDEA of what they're contributing aside from their time. Some people don't bother taking a step back to see just how much they're really sinking into a game.

Myself, now that I'VE taken the time to play with some numbers, I'm a little shocked at myself, as I literally sat almost a year w/o playing, 1 year out of the 2 when I (like so many others) have debt I could have put that amount towards.

Regardless, what's done is done. Sanoske got some cash back out of his long time investment. Not saying it's right.

I suppose you could be a poser, but regardless you made money doing something violating the EULA of the game and borderline illegal so I don't think it's unreasonable to say what I did.

I guess it depends on what your definition of the straight and narrow is. On a scale of general illegality, I put selling gil somewhere between sneaking soda while you work at the local burger joint, and shoplifting that totally awesome t-shirt when you were 16. You made a pretty big leap with that statement, unless I'm misunderstanding how you meant it. You can assume what you'd like about how I am irl though.
