Since DEX improves SA, and AGI improves TA, Can u switch gears inbetween to power them up even more?

To simplify :

If i were to switch into DEX gear, use SA, and take DEX gear off, will SA stay as powerful as when i had DEX gear on? Or will its power deplete?

Same for TA and AGI gear.

I would venture to guess it improves damage at the time of the strike, not when you use the ability.

Then again, I'm not a thf, so take my opinion with a grain of salt.

to be honest, i've never tried it. i suppose i could experiment with it in game. but like stated above, i assume its when you actually make the attack (which would kinda make sense).

Pretty sure it's at strike time, otherwise people could pile on DEX for the DMG: bonus, and then switch to STR/Atk gear before the hit.

It is as he says, your current dexterity and agility are taken into account only when you make the actual strike.
Switching in your dexterity/agility gear, and activating SA + TA, then switching back, will do nothing.
Hope this helps.
If you have thief related questions, talk to Moriarti- he is a very good thief, and knows the job very well.

As far as switching in between SA and TA, if ur that fast w/ ur macro ur not human lol j/k! Seriously tho i prefer to have as much Dex as possible for SATA.
As you have said AGI will affect TA, but in my opinion SA is more the focus of the dmg that occurs. So piling on Dex is a great way to go> Depending on ur race/lvl ur +agi will be decent enough. Of course if u choose to separate SA/TA obviously ull wish to have 2 sets of gear for each, but do keep in mind the modifiers for ur WS as well. As i stand w/food at 75 SATA stats are +50 DEX +16agi +38STR and I'm always satisfied with my dmg w/ or w/o WS.
Always keep in mind tho u are ur own player no one should dictate ur gear nor ur style u do what u wish. THF is a wonderful job to have and alot more involved than.."Dude make this key drop WTF":irked:

technically you were already in before the lock. lol you made a post back in the day. :P

!! and so was i! twice!

Usually.. and just to mention personal suggestion (learned hard way) do TA then SA... that way if you somehow lag and hit before your macro finishes you don't end up face down.

I didn't notice this was a necro thread until after I posted.

I don't know. As THF I seem to get higher TA DMG, granted I'm only 51, with more STR gear on than AGI. I've tried both full AGI gear on TA viper bite behind a PLD, and then again TA viper bite with full STR and +ATK gear on, and the STR and +ATK gear produced better results. Now I don't have Assassin yet so I can't wait to see what that does to my TA DMG, but as far as I'm concerned AGI gear is worthless for a THF 1-51. Go STR and ATK and if you are hume you have the best gear ever for THF.
