I have been told a couple things about the meritalbe WAR job trait Savegery but i cant for the life of me, cant see that the merit i put into savegery is doing anythg?

Ive been told that while Warcry is up savagery gives you like a slow TP regen similar to Meditate.... well it doesnt for me

The only thing i can think of is that its like the Martial weapons.. that give 100tp bonus on WS so if you had 100tp it would WS like a 200tp WS... But i cant prove it..

Does anyone know exactly how Savagery is suppose to work?

Job Trait Overview

* Game Description: Adds TP Bonus effect to Warcry.
* Job Traits are always active.
* TP Bonus extends to other party members affected by Warcry, with the bonus reduced by 50% (Party members will recieve a TP Bonus of +5TP per merit while affected by a Warcry with Savagery).
* This bonus only affects Weapon Skills performed while Warcry is active.
* Each additional Merit upgrade increases the TP Bonus by 10.

Pulled off Wiki. It's exactly what it says it is. It's TP bonus. Like on Martial Axe, but shitty. Take your merit out, it's not gonna do anything, it's 1/10th of a Martial Weapon, only +10 TP bonus.

Each merit of Savagery gives you a TP Bonus of 10, meaning that if you have 190tp and ws, it'll be like you had 200tp. The effect is cut in half for anyone who gets your Warcry. So if you max it out, you'll get a TP Bonus of 30 and your pt will get 15. So yeah, pretty useless.

It's almost, almost as useful as Aggressive Aim.

Couldnt you use agressive aim while soloing for bloody bolts at least?

Exactly.

Savagery is almost, almost as useful as Aggressive Aim. Because both are completely useless, but AA you might find a need for in extremely rare cases.

War simply can't solo very well, we have the evasive agility of your average tractor. But in those rare cases, AA might tip the battle in your favor whereas Savagery just makes you scratch your head in wonder.

edit: Acid Bolts won't land. We have a D rating in both marksmanship & archery.

I've tried to do Acid Bolts in exp on VT mobs with sushi. The end result was one bolt landing out of 7-8 shots, hardly worth the time considering the dmg I missed from fewer swings. Let's also not forget that this removes the ability to don Bomb Core or whatever your DD ammo of choice is, since swapping out the crossbow will nuke your TP.

before I had 75 ninja I used to solo on my war with an eva gear setup with a tp equip macro, so the last thing i would ever want is eva- (aggressor) and the mobs that wars CAN solo are very hittable. SO AA is nothing.. but one day i did /sea all 75 inv.. and saw a jp war/rng with /seatext AA 3/3... so ... lol

wanna be ranger D:

AA might be workable if they loaded up on crap like Dusk legs and Seiryu's Kote...but that's sortof hurting their melee hits pretty badly, and for what? A crappy HP drain or defense down that makes up for the damage loss of them wearing r.acc crap to begin with? Awesome. =P

WAR might be able to use R.Acc for a little more survivability vs something like EPs...but Agressive AIM is sortof pointless since Agressor makes WAR die faster while solo anyways.

you are wasting a merit that u can spend on other usseful things.

I have defense down and drain HP but you loss 12 att of the bomb core. Your dot dmg is going to be lower over time

Actually, it was in regards to loading up on Ranged Accuracy stuff hurting their melee damage. Not justifying a reason to merit this. When Group 2s were first implemented, I commented on how ridiculously useless Aggressive Aim is, and I still stand by that comment. And I'm not even a Warrior.

But now that you mention it. 12 Attack vs. -12.5% Defense.

Acid Bolts wins out on anything with over 100 defense. Assuming you can keep the effect up for the entirety of the fight.

The Weakens Defense effect reduces the monsters defense by 12.5% for about 1 minute.

Again, assuming you can keep it up (land it as it's coming in to camp, mob will be dead before it wears), that... actually... kinda... y'know... kicks Bomb Core's ass. :16suspect1:

Yeah, the effect kicks bomb cores ass, but the trait still sucks because of how little of an effect it actually has.

u should be a Racc whore for that .Even with merited i think that's a waste of Merits :O

We are low skill markmanship.

I would try it with Ep's~Dc mobs. But in my personal opinion i think that ill never land a hit with my markmanship on a VT~IT mob ; _ ;

But @ the start of a battle you can try 1 or 2 acid bolts then change to bomb core and start kicking some butts :D

keep the bomb core and merit tomahawk get def down that land all the time

Tomahawk isn't Defense down. That's Angon. Tomahawk lowers melee resistances, like Banish does on Ghosts, but to anything.

Uh oh. I better edit this post before Uzor throws a tantrum and claims I'm out to get Hellstorm.

Not to mention Angon has a cap on how much defense it can lower, which is 51 defense. Acid Bolts are still more effective, as they have no such cap. Angon just has no resistance check like Acid Bolts do.
