R.I.P. Sphene.

That's horrible T_T Sphene was a nice and entertaining girl ; ; One of the few people I never got in to an argument with over something =/ Was sad to see when she quit originally, and even more saddened to hear the news of her death

I remember sphene only from an exp pt we shared back when she was levelling her PLD around the 60's level. Was a real nice person, had this fiesty, hot headed temperment that made her who she was and I liked that in her. It saddens me greatly to know she isn't here no more so my condolences go to her friends and family.

RIP Sphene, you will be missed :(

My condolences to her family, friends and those with good memories of her. She's in a better place now. Rest in peace.

When she was contemplating quitting, she told me that one of the reasons was that she felt she had few (if any) people that actually liked her and got along with her in game. It warms my heart to see so many post here for her sake.

As for some kind of fund for her, Sphene *highly* valued her anonomity. I'm very sure that she wouldn't want a lot of people from in-game knowing her real name, family location, etc.

I think the support and fond memories of Sphene given here are the best (and most appropriate) thing we can do.

I agree...I think the family would kinda feel weird seeing flowers from like..Canitoch or Leggomyeggo..

I didn't know her well, but she always seemed nice the few times I was around her on game. My condolences to her close friends.

never knew her but seen her around
from one paladin to another /salute :paladin:

It's not a matter of sending flowers.

Many people choose to have money donated from sympathizers go to a charity or organization that the deceased believed in, instead of using the money for themselves. For example, I worked a funeral yesterday, and the family had all the funds go to a division of a local hospital that does cancer research. All the cheques were made out to the organization and not the family. If Sphene's family was doing the same thing, her name would be kept anonymous from the community, as those who wanted to donate would just need to know the organization that the donations are going to and send it off to the funeral home, where the proceeds would be sent to the organization from there. Another idea would be to send a collective amount to one person, and have that one person send all the proceeds to the funeral home, but that would only work if you trusted sending that person your money. Anyways, it's just a thought and I respect not wanting to give her identity away.

There were few times I ran into Sphene in game but she always seemed to have a good attitude about helping people. I was on my mule talking about RDM AF (sword). Out of nowhere, she volunteered to help and pretty much solo'd it. On the NT boards, she had some funny things to post and had no trouble getting along with anyone.

I hope the family is doing okay with this. Parents have a hard time when their child passes away and it takes a long time to grieve.

I forget but she had a roommate who used to play FFXI as well right? I hope he is okay.

Yeah, Sphene loved to help people..even if it was way out of her league lol, it just shows how much she really wanted people to get their things.

I didn't know Sphene very personally, which is to say I met her a few times; but from what I did know of her she seemed to be a very nice girl.

While my heart was grieved when Celvantes informed me of the news last night, I hold within me a hope that she now resides in a better place.

Rest in peace, Sphene, you will be missed.

It sucked to find out about this last night. Sphene was always fun to have around and was never short on insult trading...That, and she was the only woman I ever met who could out-curl me >>

RIP Sphene.

Wasn't her roommate Mornlithe?

Good luck Sphene, Never a good bye, just see you in a while.

Sphene... I knew you so briefly, yet we had some good laughs. Your cat always jacking with the keyboard, and you just being you. I'm glad I am among the fortunate that got to meet you and get to know you. {Peace} and {See you again}{friend}. To all her family and friends, God be with you in these trying and difficult times.

Respectfully,
Shmedly
