^_^/) Reya here! For all those in Quetzy that came to Otakon this year 2005 in Baltimore it was great fun meeting you irl. It was really neat placing faces with people who I've known and joined forces with over the years. I had great fun seeing you all, and I really hope you had a safe trip back. It was nice hanging out with Eilistrae, Rappa, Lyrai, Raesvelg, Aragaeon, Meijie and Devastatorprime. Hope to see ya next year guys!!! ^_^

Lol, Lyrai^^ And I knew I saw you here on the forums because I remember your sig now after seeing your name.

Edit: Devastatorprime was the guy with me.

lol

wah!! I'm sorry T_T... I'm a bad friend T_T thanks! lol it was fun meeting ya'll non the less!

So... tired.... need... sleep....

Stupid caffeine keeping me awake. ></)

Anyway, nice meeting people, hope to see more of you next year. ^^

Otakon was held in the Baltimore Convention Center in Maryland.

FF Cosplay, there were only about hmm...13 or so total during the weekend that did FFXI cosplay.

Wow.. that's a LOT of cosplay... O.O;

What... did you HAVE to dress up for this Otakon thing?

I don't think I see one normally dressed person in there..

You didn't have to dress up, and there wasn't as much cosplay as you think, I'm trying to find the FFXI group that was after the whole FF group photo, because they were all emoting, it was great.

<3

I love the pics!!! I talked with one of the Squall Cosplayers who plays FFXI too. He's on Azura I think. I'm thinking of going as Reya next year though 8)

I met Lyrai and Devastator there, but didn't know Eilistrae was there too. Woulda been nice to meet her too. I was with Sosuke and Vivikun, so it seems that Quetz was there in force. It was a good con this year, started slow but ended up having a blast^^

awww! I didn't know you were there either! I had a fantastic time and spent too much money but I got some great loot heehee

The best part of the whole weekend was watching Miyazaki's film Howl's Moving Castle with Reya and Co. I had a blast ^^ That's such a great movie!

Lets see... other animes I decided I want to get my hands on include:

Bleach
Midori Days
Nonsense Ninja Shinobuden
Ah! My Goddess TV

Heh then there were things I watched that made me say "wtf?!" like Jo Jo's Bizarre Adventure and Sakura Taisen Ecole de Paris.

My friends and I are already planning next year lol we're going to get a hotel suite so we have more space to pass out :p

We're also talking about doing a group Cosplay (and no Ecks, you don't have to cosplay to attend lol). We might do FF6 characters, I'd probably do Celes in her Opera costume, or we might do Tokyo Underground characters and I'd be Chelsea Rorec (she's the blonde). Either one would be fun :D

Quick question:

How many of you got Kancho'd?

Otakan sounds like a lot of fun, I have some friends who go to them once in a while and they seem to have a great time. Maybe I should look into going to one sometime.... as long as there is no Kancho.

lol there was no kanchoing! Just silly little girls and boys with "hug me/ glomp me" signs :p

Shouldn't judge people by their weight. In both of the pictures, those costumes are amazing, so much work went into them, and that's the point. Not what you look like, but that you're proud to show off what you've acomplished. Personally, I don't think I'm such a prize, but I'd gladly go and make a costume, even if I didn't fit what the character should look like exactly. I'd put hard work into the costume, and be proud that I could make something like that.

Most anime conventions, especially Otakon and other large ones, are a place without shame. Regardless of what you look like, your effort is what counts. So what if you're not as anorexic as a character, you have to stand up to the challenge and work with the costume's design to fit it to yourself, while still making it look good.

You have to keep in mind, that most people who talk trash like this, have never really met a real girl. All they look is magazine/porn/games and well, those things arent real, none of them. I'm not some awsome person, but I have learned in life to not look for a magazine/porn/game chick. They dont really exist, as I said before.

I'mjust an emo kid whos had girl stomp on my heart before

and as you can see I'm evil

So what if they are over weight? It isn't like you can see fat rolls and excessive skin. I have a problem with over weight people cosplaying when they think they look good in skimpy clothing. In both those cases, they are fully clothed and the costumes are nicely done. Who are you to judge? Gtfo emo boy.
