So ya.. I was reading through The Order of the Blue Gartr's forums and came upon this thread

http://www.theorderls.com/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=3281

for any of you that have had problems with GMs or how they handle things (and I know a LOT of you have). Just read through the first post of that thread and then you can see how to send a comment directly to SE themselves.. or if you are too lazy for that.. here's a quote from that thread...

In summary, for the people who didn't want to bother reading any of this:

That button is a direct line to Square-Enix Japan that bypasses the GM and Customer "Service" agency. Go tell Square-Enix what you think about the fantastic job they're doing.

Post links to this thread elsewhere in the community, and hopefully we can get more people informed about this.

once I get my internet back for my desktop I'm gonna try! Send nice long detailed posts about the problems that are going on with our server and how GMs do nothing about it. It's worth a shot!!!

it can't hurt to try.. you might think SE doesn't listen because of the GMs but what you fail to realize is that GMs are not SE employs. SE hires an agency to handle that stuff and so the agency hires the GM type people and support. They are supposed to send the reports they get to their supervisors that their supervisors review and are supposed to send to SE.. the problem is most likely that they are trying to kee business with SE so they make it seem like things are better when they really aren't. Would it really kill you to try and send a letter to SE directly that'd take all of 10 minutes?

I was just joking. Relax.

On a serious note, I will send an email to SE about how fucked there GM system is.

curse you sarcasm on the internet that's so failed to be noticed >.>

Come on how could you miss them? :?

I was sorta just quick reading while browsing other sites XD more fun forums to go to cause I'm bored -_-

so don't bother with GM calls.. send a message to SE itself x.x let em know that the Agency they hired is screwing things up for em and that they are losing players because of em. money talks x.x

1/100...nah...i mean i have only made a handful and they have all been answered. besides i have never seen 100 people trying to get help all at the same time lol. most i have seen is like 26.

Answered isn't necesarily handled. Handled is when someone MPK's you, and 20 minutes later they are in jail. Answered is "We'll look into the matter. Have a nice day!"

lol fair point Cythe...you complain they pretty much just say "/blist" or "no evidence"

I already knew about this S-E mailbox (and that's exactly what it is), and I've sent a few messages to them over the 1+years I've been playing. They make it very clear in the process that they will not give individual responses to comment/suggestions, so it's hard to say how seriously they take these e-mails. All I know is that nothing I've suggested has been done. (And damn, I really could have used that billion gil.....j/k)

Do they read every post... probably not

Can they implement every suggestion... most likely not

Can they guage a level of dissatisfaction among an explosion of messages all concerning the rough shod handling of certain in-game concerns ... most likely....

Client software suggestions will most likely go ignored, but messages complaining about customer care may get something done. If not, you got to blow off some steam to the right people.

GM Agency?

Though this is a really good idea, I have one small problem with an idea that is floating around this thread, which isn't entirely correct, unless you can prove me otherwise.

This isn't completely true. GMs are SE employees.
I've applied for GM jobs quite a few times for different MMOs, FFXI being one of them.

"The Game Master will be part of the Online Division providing Online customer support for FINAL FANTASY XI..."

"Postal Mail:
Square Enix, Inc.
Attn: Human Resources
6060 Center Drive, Suite 100
Los Angeles, CA 90045"

Those quotes are right off the SE website, the jobs section to be more specific.

I'm sure that complaints to a GM can be brought up with superiors, if the GM chooses to do such a thing.
There was one GM that I had the privilege of meeting, GM Thunderan, who was very involved in keeping the players happy, as opposed to just telling them that he will investigate the matter. The few problems that I had were dealt with in a matter of minutes.

I'm not saying that this method posted isn't going to do anything. It'll probably do more than complaining to the GMs will do, knowing how most of the GMs seem to work these days.

However, I just decided to hopefully clear the misconception that the GM service is contracted out to agencies.

Thunderan was the one that made me change names. Cool GM anyways though.
