You gotta watch out for this character.. he is a lolforumnazi.

He will come up behind you and nip your post in the bud.. no matter how juicy or interesting it may be.. If it has any of the words: noob, mom, damn, shit, cockmonkey, ass, or any other similar words or phrases.. he will lock that shit so fast.. man whatchu talkin.. and sometimes.. he will just delete your words and add some funky intelligent-sounding phrase at the end, like your words were never there at all!

Ive wrote a poem for Sculli..

He does it for pleasure;

At his leisure,

Who was saying that I am not inspiring people? There you have it, a poem just for me.

In either case, you can say a lot of things about me, most are perception, however, this following phrase makes no sense at all:

Means you only cared about the fact that the FB threw off multiple sponsors

What Im saying is, I think you cleaned up this shit all of a sudden because youre afraid of losing money for this forum. I know this thing isnt free, people sponsor you and whatnot.. but not as many people wanted to because of all the profanity. Who knows, maybe youre even making a few bucks.. why else would a retired ffxi player maintain a ffxi forum so adamantly? Anyways, to clarify, "All of his cares Are his pocketbook shrinks" = "All he cares about is losing money".

Or that he made QCDN for a "helpful community" kidna thing and it was reknown as a slum because of the FB.. people got a bad rep because of just coming here.. perhaps Sculli is trying to preserve the "positive" aspect of the forums? QCDN should not be known as a good flame pit, but a good community to learn.

but.. while you weaken stanza 3, you strengthen stanza 4 >_>..

Im the whitest guy on this forum.. but even I know entertainment. The flameboard was pure entertainment. You stripping the flameboard was like.. taking family guy off the air. Sure, it wasnt the most wholesome bit on the forum, but it was funny as hell and people loved it!

Now, people dont come for entertainment.. they only come for information, event scheduling, and buying/selling.

They can only hope that, every once in a while, some idiot like me will post something like this.. to make them smile.

i mean come on, why do people care so much about an area of the site where everyone reverts to 10 years old? (or are 10 years old as im sure most were)
You dont need drama in a good community.
If you cant have intelligent conversations with debates that dont involve bashing someones character or their intelligence, then you have some growing up to do.
i mean this is prime example, If you cant even step back and give the change a chance to see how the community will still rock then, sure you belong at that other going nowhere website.

That's the thing.. most people are yet to have intelligent debates.. and when they do its like a 45-85min break between posts.. and it just gets boring.. fast..

i've yet to find ONE person who's said anything due to the fact that i browse QCDN, and i'm by no means a low-profile poster. In all of 2 years, its never happened once.
The only ones i know whom have a "bad rep" are the people who get flamed here, and thats because thier behavior is put up for all to see. So far, they are 90% of the people speaking up in favor of the FB deletion.
People didnt like the fact that thier behavior could be reported and displayed for over half the English speaking population of our server.

I was in this same position for a while then Garvin set me straight. Without the Flameboard, how will we be able to spot idiots to stay away from so easily? It was a haven for retards and a good resource of finding people NOT to waste your time with. Also, now a LS, much like yours, will go scott free when they get busted for haxxoring or cheating their way into a kill. Same goes for a single person. The Flameboard, as crappy as it was, was a good resouce and tool for the smarter folks. Ridding it prevents many of things from being said that very well should be.

YOU are not a paying member, YOU are not supporting the site, YOU are just enjoying FREE entertainment provided by Sculli and his work of bringing in sponsors. If you want the Flameboard back so bad why haven't you tried to spend YOUR time and money getting it back? Like for instance, try and strike a deal with Sculli. Maybe say, take YOUR own money and match the sponsorship he's loose from having the Flameboard? However, when it becomes YOUR money being spent, I bet you'll want nothing to do with it. Face it, unless you are a premium member you're a freeloader having fun at Sculli's and the premium members expense. Why insult him unless you're helping him in the first place?

the flameboard was also a place where if someone says you did something, they must be right and everyone jumps on and sticks with it, Much like the story of my LS.

its a good shell. Skilled people, fun people. And i wouldnt leave it for anything. We do everything legit, ask any one of the GM's that watch our runs on anything when they get "asked" to. They caught who was in the wrong and they are gone. That doesnt make the whole shell bad. This is why we no longer respond to these claims, its redundant. We could have each individual member backround checked officially, post it and you would still go with what the flameboard says.

this is not to derail this into an OH thread either. This is just what i feel about the flame board using that as an example. lets keep it that way.

and i dont wanna go into the talks of sponsorship.it will happen when i can afford it. currently im going through alot of financial problems and transitions that keep me from that.
But in defense, Just because someone doesnt pay doesnt say they dont have the right to speak out about a community they belong to.
i havent paid yet, and ive been here pretty much since the beginning. And as being a long time contributing community member, that gives me as much of a right to speak out about my community as much as someone who pays.
Sponsorship doesnt only come in cash.

and i can say that i have never been flamed, well once. But that person got even more mad because they wanted to flame me for defending my LS members from getting MPK'd by them, so needless to say...their flame lost before post 2, never went beyond page two lol. so im not in the percentile of people who want it gone because i dont want my name listed on the board anymore. Im saying i want it gone for the same reasons sculli has tried to kindly present to everyone.

and in lol fashion whining about the flameboard can be summed up in a memorable phrase.

id also like to point out how this thread has more of an intelligent debate and heated topical conversation feel to it than your old flameboard posts.
Doesnt it feel a little better and a little more ethical when we talk like this, Not chewin at each other and degrading anyone directly?

regardless of the fact this thread points out one person, most will. But sculli took it with stride and brought it to a conversation level. Thats how this community should work. it feels much nicer and has a better chance of getting through and possibly causing a change.
but that is still yet to be forseen.
 
I'm still waiting to see when people notice the corrilation between the arrival of Peregrine and the downward thrust of the FB. Not pointing fingures because there is plenty of blame to go around, but as he boasted in another thread, threads started by him have been the largest both pagewise, and postcount; and have grown to such sizes in record times.

Peregrine has taken great strides and shown huge pride in his accomplishments within the FB that should not go unnoticed.
