At the following time, we will be performing FINAL FANTASY XI server maintenance on all Worlds. During this period, FINAL FANTASY XI will be unavailable.

*The client software will also be updated at this time. Once this maintenance is completed, the client update will start automatically after logging back into FINAL FANTASY XI. Please follow the instructions that appear on your screen.

Are they just totally fucking clueless? No school that day and a good portion of offices closed for the day. Fuck you SE!
 
I like the time of the update, since I have classes that day, I'll be able to log in right as I get back.

Meh, I suppose we should feel fortunate recent weeks have been free of long maintenance.
 
Oh, and US holidays aren't their main concern, since they're a Japanese company with a big Japanese player base.

Who gets off work on Valentine's Day? This isn't really an 'official holiday'. It was created by the flower, candy, and jewerly industry to boost post x-mas sales.

If you read the message it says the 20th which happens to be presidents day.
It was just posted on the network on the 14th.

andddddd...my kids are at their dad's that weekend...and will be home in the afternoon. Morning would've been my best time =(
 
I read about Old Grandma Hardcore in a magazine. I remember teaching my grandmom how to play Super Mario Brothers when I was a kid (she passed away when I was 12).

OT: Sucks that they're doing a maintenance on my 3-day weekend. :( I'll just have to stay up late Sunday and get lots of exp, then clean house on Monday. >.<
 
This is a holiday spawned by hallmark... I did not think anyone got this day off.
 
Its a holiday, why are you wanting playing FFXI then?
You wanting playing FFXI means you obviously aren't going anywhere, so why does it matter if its on a holiday or not.

This is a good thing, they should have maintenance on Christmas too.

Ummm...why do you want to play when you play? I don't really get this question. I work all week so my time ingame is limited...I was looking forward to squeezing some extra time in.
