Sea Obi's

So I recently got Sea access, and I have been working on farming what I need for my obi's. I currently have BLM and RDM at level to use these. What I'm wondering is do these obi's work on Enfeebling Magic as well? Or just nukes?

For example, using the Hyorin Obi for Paralyze? Worth it to use or are enfeebles not affected?

Thanks in advance~

Iso

Personally I figure for enfeebs just stick to a high +mnd/+int belt but if somehow the day and weather is up try it see if procs more or something. You have a blm so all obi's are useful to you either way

The questions are:

- Do day/weather help with resists in the first place?
- If so, is this a nice guaranteed little boost, or is it like day/weather damage/curing boosts which may or may not happen?
- If the latter, then obi will help with resists.

- Do day/weather help with debuff potency in the first place?
- If so, is this a nice guaranteed little boost, or is it like day/weather damage/curing boosts which may or may not happen?
- If the latter, then obi will help with potency.

I don't happen to know the answers to these questions offhand (mainly because with my BRD debuffs, potency doesn't vary, and things either resist left and right or only resist once in a blue moon). I personally take a Korin Obi, slap it on for Temenos, and call it good.

I'm almost positive that iceday makes gravity resist MORE... however, whether or not the correct day reduces resist rate, I couldn't say. This would, however, make sense.

Potency, I'd imagine it's unlikely. Could always be tested in diorama with slow, but I kinda doubt it (and really don't want to a. go get an earth obi and b. wait for the correct day, personally).

My guess and I'm almost certain, is that it works like Elemental staves and reduces resists; however, I wouldn't bother getting most of them anyways just for that reason. It'll rarely be the respective day, 1 out of 8 times it will be, and the weather is just to hard to bother predicting (NPC will can give a game day, but that doesn't mean much). I'd stick to mainly Dark, Thunder and Ice Obi (I forget the actual names) which are the standards for most players. Then if you'd like, you can always test sleep in dynamis or bind in Uleg. Range with the almost constant ice weather to see if it's worth expanding to the rest.

On the topic of Obis, personally I use Penitent's over Kairin(sp?) in Dynamis for Drain's and Aspirs, regardless of the double dark weather. I also use Diabolo's Pole, which I find helps alot over Pluto's. I find they end up Draining/Aspiring more, just because of the 5 INT differential.

As for the Obi and Enfeebling Magic, I would guess to say no, they have no effect with the resist rate or proc rate. Of course I haven't done any testing of this, but as a RDM, nothing really should be resisted, unless it's a large HNM. Then again, it's all about INT/MND stacking for enfeebles. Your Para isn't going to do much good if it doesn't proc all the time.

well as far as days go, a lot of rdms for maat fight swear by doing maat on darksday for extra sleep or windsday for extra damage...I've Astral Flowed mobs on their days and notice really no difference when i bust another and different one behind it. But the results diversify with different mobs of course

As far as enfeebling goes, mentioned above but i would say so, mor and/or linh have said good things about it when it comes to sleeping in dynamis

Sorry to derail topic but i could not stop myself from clarifying, did you use the Diabolo's Pole during darkday in dynamis? I have personally try it myself in dynamis during windday. The aspir is consistently weaker than my Pluto's staff (against the stone). The moment i step out of dynamis, i throw it away <_<.

Pretty confident that there is no accuracy bonus whatsoever on obis, at least not noticeable.

Also, don't pluralize with a 's.

This isn't a thread about my grammar so you can just stick to the topic, or don't post in it.

Thank you for those that had helpful things to say. Gonna get dark, ice and thunder and go from there.

There is a definite accuracy bonus on enfeebles due to matching weather and weekday, which is boosted by Obis. I don't think its worth having an Obi (and matching macro set) for every situation though, except for those times that you're guaranteed (or nearly guaranteed) a particular weather. Sleeping in Dynamis or Limbus are examples where you can really notice a difference.

Yes, color of the day does boost accuracy. Sleep for example. However i remember sleeping pudding 100 times in a row on darksday, with and without the obi, and i didn't see any difference. So it's probably unoticable, just like stat's accuracy bonus anyway.

I would just save the Obis for nuking/aspiring. If you're really hurting for the enfeebling accuracy, there are several other slots you can fill to tide you over which are much more consistent in their application. With most enfeebles, one really just needs enough accuracy to get them over the line, the rest should cater to potency. If my gimpy RDM can land enfeebles just fine, then you wont need no Obis Iso :p

...Oh, and you're a bitch <3

Not all enfeebles have a potency bonus such as sleep and gravity. INT does not doing much if anything at all for accuracy and an extra boost would be nice if you're hurting to land it.

The only issue in my opinion is the space required for saving each obi. It's not like staves where the bonuses are guaranteed, you have to wait for the right day and/or weather which may not come at the opportune time. If you do BCNM, ENM, ISNM, etc. where the extra acc. boost to an enfeeble would be helpful and you can work out entrance times to enter at correct day/weather, then it might be worth it, but to most, those are pretty limited circumstances.

Meh, most of my enfeebles land. On RDM my stats are capped, merited, and boosted by other gear. Was really just wanting to know if it was worth it to farm all of the Obi's.

Oh... and ILU PIGRET!

Not sure if it needs saying, but I would recommend getting a THF friend to help. The drop rate is horrid without TH, went hours without a single drop and with TH, I can get several in an hour. Most of the organs, if not all, for Ice, Thunder and Dark can be farmed right in the outside area in the southern region (near the entrance from Tavn.). The only issue I have is Hpemde and Tissues not dropping if I recall correctly. Tissue either doesn't drop often or far better drop rate inside and Hpemde must be better on higher level mobs in the northern regions via the three crags. If you have a sea shell, you can always go along and free lot organs you may need too.

Also, don't bother keeping most of the HQ you obtain. Only 2-3 of them are really valuable such as HQ Aern or HQ Euvhi, both of which are only obtainable in the inside areas. The rest drop frequently enough you won't need to bother holding onto them. You can always hold onto a HQ organ if you're looking to pop a specific jailor, but I don't see wasting the space unless I plan on popping relatively soon.

I can't recall if I have used it during Darksday or not. I'll pay attention more next time I do Dynamis.

My average vs mobs in dynamis is around 100-130, but I have seen 170s-180s more often then not using that combination.
