Good idea, where were you when it happened?

Personally... got out of the army 2 days prior and was waking up to that after being out to a bar all night.

Good idea, where were you when it happened?

Personally... got out of the army 2 days prior and was waking up to that after being out to a bar all night.

I was in Highschool at the time when it happened, my guidance counselor came in the class saying a plane hit the trade center... 45 minutes or w.e later comes in again and says 2nd plane just hit the other tower and new york is under attack...

I lived in pittsburgh at the time and I also remember the mayor freaking out when United 93 made a You turn over clevend... He felt the Steel Tower would get hit.

I watched the 2nd tower collapse on tv and altthough i wasn't there... I sure as hell felt the terror.

Was in school, they had our parents come pick us up and go home. Watch what happened on the news, was horrible.

Heard about the news on the radio as I was driving to college. When I got there I went to the rec room cause it was the quickest access I had to a tv. There were literally hundreds of students gathered around the tiny tv with mixed looks of awe and sadness. It was very emotional when the second plane hit, which we all saw live. My first class wasn't cancelled yet but we just spent the class watching the news on tv. That's around the time classes were cancelled for the day. I tried calling all my NY friends to make sure they were okay and just spent the day thinking about anything and everything and talking to everyone I knew.

It happened so fast and the networks were just chomping at the bit to get any information aired. The main thing I remember about the news scramble was CNN not even editing what they recieved the first time I saw the 2nd plane crash into the building I could hear some one in the background say "Holy fucking jesus!" and flames ensued.

Sitting at home enjoying my day off when my mother called and told me that a plane had just hit the WTC, and that she was worried since my sister was living in NYC at the time. Tuned in and watched the 2nd plane hit.

Not a good day.

I was in my calculus class my Junior year of High School, someone heard that a plane crashed into the WTC, and the teacher turned on the tv and we just watched the news about it throughout the whole day at all my classes.

Was a sad day indeed, one to never be forgotten.

I was in the 6th grade. I walked into my english class and my bud Sean said someone crashed a plane in the Pentagon. I had no idea of the incident before that. They were watching the news until the Principal came on the intercom and told us to get back to work instead of focusing at the event at hand.
I don't think I was emotionally mature enough to understand the situation at the time, because I can't look back and think "where exactly was I when it happened?". But the preceding event sticks out in my mind for some reason.

I was in I think 6th grade at the time too, however, I had fractured my spine in a ladder fall in the previous late spring and was recovering at home from that (not a good experience) so wasn't at school.

Parents told me, watched the news, wasn't really horrified or emotional or anything but I did think it was pretty crazy stuff

I was in my 8th grade homeroom (which is like study hall) when it happened and it was on TV all day...we all tried to get on with our day but they just ended up sending everyone home...

My aunt was on the first plane...

was watching TV ... i said "eh Hollywood movie on the news ? "

Sorry to hear that man =/

Apparently 5 of my family members was on the second plane but I have no idea who they are.

Everytime someone says "Never forget" it reminds me of the stupid knock knock joke a friend told me.

"Knock knock"
"Who's there"
"September 11th"
"September 11th who?"
"YOU SAID YOU'D NEVER FORGET ; ;"

Theres a lot we're supposed to "Never forget"...too bad I can't remember any of it.

But thats terrible dude. I feel for ya ; ;

I was in 5th grade and our school had sent out papers or something explaining what had happened..but they weren't really clear about it most likley to shelter us kids..but eh. I didn't really understand at all what was going on, obviously because I was so young then.

It was my first week into my freshman year of highschool when I lived in New York. All the schools were on lockdown and every train to Manhattan, which is pretty much all of them, weren't in service but I left my roller blades in my locker the day before so I was pretty lucky. My dad said he had to walk home too and that took him all afternoon. I remember watching Rudy Giuliani (The mayor of New York City at the time) on the T.V. around 7 A.M. and he was voting for something, I'm not quite sure. The day after that we had school off, and the day after that only 3 or 4 out of 20 people in my class showed up.

I was sitting in my Guidance Counselor's office when I was supposed to be in Chemistry. My friend and I had our last period off, so we were going to go across the street to the tallest building on Long Island to see if we could see the smoke. My parents picked us up and dropped us home, and I never got to see the WTC. We did go into the city the 2nd week of November to see ground zero though.

I will never forget where I was.
I was sitting in my 7th grade art class when they had announced all students to report to homeroom classes. Mentioned something about a bomb I believe, before we knew it was a plane.
Anyway I'm sitting in homeroom watching it on tv when suddenly 2nd plane hit. That moment was so strange to me. Whole classroom just went silent. I still can't believe it happened.

I'll never forget.

I remember that it was in my junior year of high school and i was watching CNN before school and i remember the breaking news bulletin and everything just after the first plane had hit the building... I continued to get ready for school and i saw live the second plane hit the building right before i went to leave for school. I got to my first class of the morning which was AP calc and we just sat in the classroom watching the news for the entire period. When we were supposed to go to our second classes the principle got on the announcements and said that 2nd and 3rd periods were canceled and just to stay in your first period class. After 3rd period a second announcement came and they said that we could all just go home.

Now I agree that it is important to personally remember tragic events such as this because this is the kind of thing that you learn from; however, I do not need to be fucking reminded of it every time that i turn on the news and hear a politician on either side of the isle speak. Yes the events of Sept 11th were bad but they have become almost a life changing event. News flash.. nothing changed after September 11th it was a building with a lot of innocent people inside that was reduced to rubble. It was not a life changing event for everyone in the country. It was a life changing event for all of the people who were personally affected.

The events of September 11th have been nothing except successful from the terrorist perspective. For the last 7 years they have been able to have the Americans living in fear and giving up their rights in the name of safety. I mean it is 7 years later and people are talking about it like it was yesterday. Hell we actually gave the mayor of New York who had horrible approval rating pre 9/11 a good chance to be the president of the USA. When he gave a speech at the RNC he still wouldn't shut up about it.

I was in class the day this happened.

The school had a long silence while the event was going down, I'm not too sure what happened after that, I was really confused because no one was telling us anything. I too was in the 6th grade.

I came home after that, and my mom was in a rampage trying to find out if my Aunt and cousin who lived there at the time were still alive. They were no where near the area when it happened, thankfully.

But man, that shit was scary.
