So I saw serenity last night, I used to watch Firefly on Fox. I thought it turned out pretty good, I'd like to know what you people that saw it thought of it. Seems like it might be hard to understand if you never saw Firefly.

Haven't seen Serenity yet, but I'm a big fan of Firefly, own the DVD's and everything. I plan to see the movie as soon as possible, looks awesome. :D

I wondered how well I would understand Serenity because I've never seen an episode of Firefly, and the answer is "It wasn't a problem."

I loved Joss Whedon's work on Buffy the Vampire Slayer and Angel, but lurking in the back of my mind was "He wrote Alien Resurrection, too. I'm screwed."

To my great surprise, I really enjoyed Serenity and will probably pick up the Firefly DVDs the next time I get paid. It was a fun romp, and it has me intrigued about the characters and their earlier adventures.

Awesome movie.

The movie is basically a higher budget, 2 hour long episode, lol. Which is a good thing

All i can say is it was a true credit to the show...

the area im in is fuckin cheap. didnt get serenity but still has fuckin march of the penguins.

Yeah, Reya, Aragaeon and I went out to see that last night. Definitely worth the price of admission :D And even Reya enjoyed herself, she who hasn't watched the show and is generally anti-SF. ^^ For myself, I plan on seeing it at least once more before it leaves theaters....

I liked the movie although I haven't seen many of Firefly. The movie was awesome.. I got my space battles, I was happy :)

pretty good stuff. loved it.

I loved it as well, as soon as I stepped out of the theater I ran to bestbuy and bought the series. If you liked the movie then spread the word. It needs money!

2 thumbs up all the way, I was on the edge of my seat right from the beginning. Reavers are so scary
I'm in love with the series (Sci-Fi channel Fridays at 7 est for those that want to catch it) and I hope the movie got enough hype to continue it.

I have a feeling that this will be one of those movies that stays in theaters for awhile, because of a steady flow of viewers. Not one massive strike for tickets and then only small crowds, if people just spread the word, then this movie could turn out to be the "sleeper hit of the fall".

I hope so, the last movie that did that was Napolian Dynomite.

THAT MOVIE SUCKED!!!!!!!!

Serenity had better gross more than that horrible piece of "comedy".

Having not seen Firefly before I thought Serenity was absolutely amazing, and started looking up "online references" (read: "BitTorrent") for all things FireFly, and will deffinately buy the box-set if I can get hold of it!

Are all the actors the same as the series? I really hope so, but I'm 90% positive they would be, purely because of how well they interacted with each other.

I'm also guessing that the guy who harboured them who had his colony wiped out (Sheppard?) was a more prominent character in the series as his 20 seconds appearance did seem more homeage than plot-related, but otherwise a really good movie!

Never saw the series, but generally liked the movie.

I absolutely hated the fight scenes though. In no way could I imagine that girl actually kicking ass, and whenever she hit someone, I imagined the person getting very upset and slapping her for wasting their time. With so many good fight choreographers out there, why couldn't she learn how to throw a realistic looking punch?

All the actors came back, I wouldnt have seen it other wise, and yeah I guess they all became close friends through the series, check out the dvd outake real (HI-fucking-LARIOUS). Sheppord Book was a mysteroius priest who knew waaay too much to have been a normal priest (read, capping gaurds in the knees at range from the hip!).

Not one bad comment on the movie :) I hear its doing really well over seas. Guess it kinda floped here :(. It'll be a cult classic for sure.
