Seriously..

And exactly when did those items become "needed" to level? Need = required. They aren't required, not even really all that useful unless your PT sucks ass.
i'll agree they arent "required" to level.. but you're questioning the usefulness of MP and -enmity? please... lol

hell even Umbra ape got jacked to OVER 600k.. this is disgusting.

Er . . . Did you really mean the Umbra Cape (or rather the NQ, Cheviot Cape)?

The current 500k price is less than the 800-900k a Cheviot Cape was selling for a few weeks ago. Not only that, crafters selling at 500k are already eating a 500k loss. It takes two Cheviot cloths to make a cape, and each cloth costs 500k.

If you really were talking about the Cheviot Cape . . . Yeah, how disgusting of those clothcrafters to eat only a 500k loss on the NQ.

i hate +mp gear resson being, you need to /heal more

actually you have to heal less, rdm have convert we dont have to heal. Whm with extra mp can use higher teir spell and will not have to cast as much, and will extened the chains more. As for healing there are plenty of mp while healing gear and refresh gear to cover that. Yes the gear is not needed to make a greatf party, but it sure helps. Prices will rise now that people getting out of school, we saw the sam thing during the chrismas break, these people are prob. the people that see that now is the time to sell knowing the market is going to jump. econemy at it finist

I can't stand people constantly bitching about inflation and deflation all the time. Realize that in the summer when people are done with school (just like winter break) that prices inflate like no other. So stfu and deal with it. At least when prices are inflating you can actually sell stuff at a decent rate.

Hence the second sentence. If a white mage or red mage is drawing hate, your tank sucks, or you're overdoing it a lot. Remember it's only -1. Thats not exactly life saving if you're spamming the hell out of cures or nukes.

And ofcourse, these items didn't always exist. People got to 75 perfectly fine without them. The MP+ from them is also not required for the same reason above, the tank sucks(equipment/playstyle wise,) or you're just not being efficient with your spells. Most mobs don't have big damage TP moves, tanks don't always have to be full HP.

So white mages can gimp their gear as long as the tank doesn't? That doesn't seem overly fair :(

Edit: Nothing's "required" in the game, but the better your gear the better the pt's xp/hr.

I dunno how you could say it's gimped if you never end up getting low enough in MP to use what you get from those items, while tanks and melees are always putting thier equipment to use. Exactly how often have you came within 85 MP left in an EXP PT, and exactly what can you do with it? Not much to save a party/person.

It's nice you have them, sure. But the "Holy shit I need this or I can't level!" mentality is why they cost so much.

People realize other people are imapatient as far as getting items.

So they say "Hey, i'll jack this price up and some lazy dumbass is actually going to pay for it. So what if i'm contributing to inflation, I want more money."

And those lazy dumbass's are stupid enough to pay those prices. And prices get jacked up farther and farther and farther with this happening.

The common misconception that high prices = inflation is getting old. Inflation has nothing to do with the cost of one particular item, but rather the servers total amount of flowing gil. I say flowing, because some guy with everything he possibly wants, 100 craft, everything else at 60, is really just going to sit on his gil without spending it, thus not contributing to the economy negatively.

Inflation leads to high prices, yeah, but high demand items being highly priced isn't inflation.

If I were the only guy in town, selling Oranges for $10 a pop, that doesn't mean the dollars devalued enough to where Oranges cost $10, that's me capitalizing on the fact that I'm the only, or atleast one of the few, people in town selling oranges.

If you want it cheaper, do the ENM, get your friends to do the ENM. Get your linkshell to do the ENM. All simultaneously. Even if more than one drops for you, selling the others results in the over all cost of the item to drop. How many people camp Sylvan Stones every 5 days to get Hairpins? How many people go through Uleguerand to get Ice every 5 days for Hedgehog Bombs?

The items might not be too rarely rewarded, but the fact that very few people actually do the fights for them restricts how many enter the game, giving those that actually do get them free reign over what to price them at.

And it's ENM, exactly what do you have to lose for trying to get them for free? You surely aren't decreasing your exp.

lol, ill have to dig up the link but I found this quote from a recent SE press conference:

Some SE guy said:
With the release of the new expansion, Tresure's of Aht Urghan, we have been cracking down on the RMT population. We have already shut down over 5,000 know accounts involving RMT. The economy should be stabilizing on all servers.

Anyone see an improvment yet? Yea, me neither. (On some things yes, most things, no.)

The scare of widespread price dropping on the last big SE sting was enough to panic everyone with a big ticket item (that they probably overpaid for around Xmas) to sell, sell, sell. Prices plummetted to rock bottom, as the lemmings on our server tried, but most likely failed, to take advantage of the situation. If enough of the community believes it's a big deal, they'll react accordingly, regardless of reality. If you want prices to drop, spread the word that SE did another big RMT operation.

Thats why Im lead to 2 different conclusions:

1) SE really does care -or-
2) They are full of shit.

Im more inclined to believe number 2.

Elemental Ores (lightning) were 1.7 million, now 480k
Behemoth Hides were 17 million ; ; now 7? million
Sirens hair were 4.2 million now 2? million
Gold Ore were 55k now 25-30k

? marks are stuff I haven't checked in awhile, but I'm surprised you haven't noticed the drop in prices since January. Prices have stopped dropping and are slowly rising again (good ol' supply demand) but nearly everything is way cheaper than at the start of the year.

lets check on our common gilseller name like Krabs, is he still on? XD

Here's an example of this guy i know who jacks up prices... he sells some black sole that he catches, makes some sushi, sells some sushi to not flood fish market then raises price on both... god, you must really hate that guy because most other food for xp sucks balls. >=)

Quote for mother *explitive deleted* truth. Simple economics at its best.
