Looking for established Nyzul Isle players who have setups that work for their team. Also any strats possible like clues to Order lamps or how to tackle a chariot when you get to one (other then racing) is most appriciated.

Thanks~

Moink.

Rdm Brd with a combo of War Blu Mnk Thf(we do one of each but I would think even thfx4 could fair well if they are geared) are my top picks for nyzul. I find most 2 handed weapons are to slow, a monk will have a mob almost dead on a kill all floor before a drk can swing. We will sometimes bring a sam drg or drk for boss runs as they preform well there.

Order lamps still suck, the key is communication. One person must be in charge and the others must listen to that one person and keep them informed on what is going on with there lamp. My group has always used /=i just hit it on=on off=off.

As for some tips, don't get discouraged if you fail a few runs when you start. It takes time for a group to find how they mesh and work together. For kill all floors have two teams 3 people each set up before the run starts. So if you get a kill all everyone knows what to do.

Many setups can work, blu is great for nyzul because head butt has a lot of potential. A thf is nice for pulls, but most jobs can pull it off just as well. Rdm for sleeps, brd for crowd control, or sch. I find nin a better tank, shouldn't have to explain why for nyzul. Any DD job works great, I have no idea why smallgod says two hand jobs aren't as good, but who listens to that idiot anyway. I've seen nyzul done with many setups, it's really nothing more than your average pt setup.

For lamps, just send everyone different directions, have them say when they've found one. When you get 3-4 lamps found, get an order going, when everyone has hit their lamp, they will all light up at the same time. If you have not found all the lamps, nothing will happen, so you know what to do from there... When the lamps do go on, they will go back off in about 5-10 seconds, but the few that continue to stay on, that means they were in the right spot in the order.

For example: I say - Ice, smallgod, moink. When I hit my lamp I'll say "/" in pt chat, or "on". Then small goes, does the same, then you. When they all turn back off, we say "off", but say smallgod's lamp is still on. That means smallgod will always be the second lamp to go in that order. So the correct order is - moink, smallgod, ice.

Edit** Have all your DD's sub ninja, you will be using sneak/invis many times.

Well here's the problems I am having, the static is somewhat new and we're all learning together. I'm reading wiki blah blah blah (Doesn't help considering its more of a dull book than personal experience.)

I don't know if I'm going to light on healing or too heavy on DD. Atm my setup is

Nin, Thf, Rdm, War, War, War.
I'm learning a RDM can do it, but its alot of work when its an all enemies floor or a Chariot NM.

The other problem are the lamps... Order lamps more or less... Yesterday we had an order lamp on floor 11... and we lost because of it. My members / when activated and I give the order set. Example:

Order is 1,2,3,4 go :45
1 /
2 /
3 /
4 /

1 on
4 on

When this happened 1 and 4 stayed on... to my knowledge the ones that stay on are the ones that we're activated properly. So I told my members what I thought the new order was... 1,3,2,4

We did this and all lamps went off... can anyone explain why or what went wrong? To note, noone went out of order, they all just went off...

I've had runs where someone fucked up their order, and thought it would be best to not tell me. So it ended up a 10 min long process, only to come back and find the SECOND order I tried was the correct one, but someone messed it up. It's honestly way easier if you have everyone on vent.

Also, five melee and one rdm is going to be very hard. Need one of those war's to change to a support job.

4/6 have vent, the other 2 i try to keep off the order unless the floor has 5 lamps...

We go with myself on SCH or WHM 2x SAM th2+2THF DRK and a RDM. Even though you lose that 2nd haste from being sch enspell is great in nyzul especially for the kclubbing drk.
But normally I prefer to go whm since we don't use brd for light based sleep/dispel so I Repose(stuns the mob due to them sleeping on an aga3 stuff if other peoples stun timers aren't up) I really am anti pld&nin when it comes to nyzul it's not really needed.

Most of the time we prefer to have ordered lamps over specified enemies or tedious junk of that sort. Just find the 3-5 lamps everyone / when you have it I make an order A B C D E, / after you go. A C stays on so change it up some A E C B D and so on..

Well... our setup is fairly balanced.... we typically do rdm brd blm/rdm mnk nin thf on flooring and lower bosses and then rdm brd sch mnk nin thf on 60 80 100 bosses since blms are worthless against them.

As far as lamp floors are concerned 6/6 vent... best way one person is in charge, calls it out and gets it done quick.

now that we dont really care about drops (because we have everything pretty much) and are just doin it for nyzul tokens tho we have switched it up to a speed group which is sam war mnk blm/rdm rdm brd.

The reason that i say blm/rdm is because our blm is kinda a soloer.. and on floors where there are flans and puddings the melees skip as many of them as possible and the blm gets them down. Also even though for most people the art of skillchaining is gone we do use them on NMs and such. Chariots are easy though.. just buff up and go after them. The only mobs we seem to have trouble with are those damn porogo and quirin NMs.

i'd also have to vouch for vent

much faster communication as some people are slow to respond to ingame chat or don't at all and they can miss those little important details that end up fucking your time

Oh and for christ sake don't fucking agro the gears! -_-

Gotta love people that have absolutely no multitasking skills, and when they are in a fight, wont read the chat log, AT ALL. Even when spamming their name.

i do NIN BLM BLU THF COR and WHM setup.

BLU is really good at nyz, after we ran into problem on a floor with soulflayer as leader, and white magic ban. BLU can serve as backup.

We also break the team into smaller group of 3 and 3, in case of split path, instead of have everyone go together, we split into 3 balance group, and kill each side, that lower the travel time.

We run RDM RDM(or WHM) MNK NIN DRK THF. The THF and MNK usually can attack so fast they take any aggro we get and start soloing. The DRK comes in very handy when you're fighting Soulflayers and such. DRK can also make up their slow attack delay on bosses with a Body Boost and a few Souleater WS's. RDM works wonders because of convert. THF's flee comes in handy when we're far away from the teleporter when the mission is complete, but 9/10 times we have a member run back to the run before we clear the floor.
Overall my tips are:
1. Everyone needs a job - i.e. one person calls out floor objective, one person calls out the mobs on the floor, one person pulls, and so on
2. Always having someone at the rune or near the rune when the floor is about to be completed. - For instance when you get Specified Enemies there is always 3-5 so after you kill 2 or 3 send someone back to the rune which usually is best if its one of the healers low on mp to just gain mp while others kill
3. Lamp coordination - Always smack the first lamp you come to to figure out if its an order or a single lamp floor. And have someone who's good with puzzles in charge of this because one of your slower people could really screw you.
4. Everyone else said vent so yeah...

Order lamps are really easy to deal with. Assuming you have 5 lamps, you do this:

1st attempt: A, B, C, D, E (no success)
2nd attempt: B, C, D, E, A (A's correct)
3rd attempt: C, D, E, B, A (A, B and C are right)
4th attempt: C, E, D, B, A (all correct)

Usually it only takes a couple attempts, but the maximum number attempts necessary should be the same as the number of lamps you have to hit.

Ya thats what I do baj, I feel the loss was with miscommunication... next run, rules will be set and better practices will be made in terms of lamps.

you dont need nin tank for the ToAU boss on 60 80 and 100?

Not sure if it's necessary, my group has a ninja as a main tank, but we have a pld too if we need that instead.

Been able to clear everything with war war thf rdm. Having less people makes it easier to do lamps too .-.

My current group's setup is BLM, WHM, BRD, WARx2, NIN. At the moment, we're spamming our way to 100, but when we go farming, I plan on having one WAR go RDM and the WHM will go THF, which worked for us in the past. BLM isn't exceptional, but on certain NM leaders, it's helpful when you'd prefer to give as little TP as possible or where BLMs just really shine such as Qiqirn and Custards. I also like having a BRD if only for magic finale and lullaby. Very useful for soulflayers which are immune to sleep and dispel which can make ice spikes a pain.
