Several not-funny "jokes"..

Sadly, these all tend to come from people who I try to consider friends, but they throw this back in my face. I wanna make a list, for you smartasses you think this crap is funny.

1. Taking advantage of someone's kindness. If you say you and anyone who can raise in your party wiped, all the way in Bibiki Bay, and want me to Tele-Mea and choco there to Raise II them, only to say "haha you came" when I finally get there = NOT FUNNY. (esp. if the person is WHM/SMN, in which they can't warp)

2. Camping an NM that drops a Rare/EX item with me because you "have nothing better to do", "wanna hang out" or "wanna help increase the drop rate (i.e. TH2)" then joke-lotting with the suspection that my 218 lot will beat whatever number you throw out = NOT FUNNY.

3. Asking me to party in Bibiki Bay, and changing your mind only when I get there. (in conjunction with #1) = NOT. FUNNY.

4. Zoning Marchelute to Selbina = Funny in a sense of millions of dead noobs, but that's nothing different from everyday Valkurm; usually the high-level in the general area is gonna be blamed and/or gonna be the one who hasto do something about it, lest Valkurm be under siege for half an eternity. Also not funny.

5. Pulling Ungur because you think he'd finish for a good chain = funny to joke about, not funny to actually DO, especially if the party can't even take the normal Wyverns.

Oh, and SE...with the latest bracket of 0/4 CCC, 0/3 Roc, 0/1 Simurgh, 0/7 Morion (post-patch)...well, that never was funny.


To cut this list into 5 sentances -
-Raise pranks might be funny to someone, but to the WHMs who are nice enough to travel literally halfway across Vana'diel to do it, it's not.

-Party invite pranks are even less funny, because the person may have turned down invites on the way to camp.

-Lotting on something you don't need (wether you have intention to pass afterwards or not) - really, really not-funny. Congradulations on that Tavanzia Bell, Mr SAM...

-Don't forcepop crap just bring it to a spot where it can mow down bystanders just for sh-!ts and giggles. If you find unecessary death funny, just set your HP to the Yuhtunga outpost and pop on a level 1 job.

-Joking about fighting/killing something is all fun, but don't actually do it. Where'd we be today if people pulled Aquarius/Mischievous Micholas/Wyvernpoacher/Ancient Goobbue/Old Two-Wings off the assumption that they're "barely stronger than their normal mob-type"?


Just...I dunno where this thread is going. Mainly directed at "STOP DRAGGING ME OUT TO BIBIKI IF IT'S A F-!KING JOKE, IT'S NOT FUNNY" among other stuff.

The point is those people probably have problems too... joking you sold the gear your friend let you borrow... that is funny. Mting an offense remark about a friend into your pt or ls on purpose, that is funny. Teasing your friends xping by threating to mpk them with low level mobs, -that- is funny. (I tried to mpk perfectangel using a mandy at the mea crag with the bind tech. and she didn't even notice for a whil XD)

But yeah.... calling someone out to say "haha you came" isn't funny... makes you wonder what kind of friends you have.

It's messed up that they did these things to you but now you can learn from it. Next time, if they REALLY need Raise II, screw 'em. Tell them you are busy and find another suc... errr WHM! :lol: When they complain and begin to hate you, don't give in, just remind them of the story of "The Boy Who Cried Wolf". For some reason, people like to take advantage of those who are excesively kind. Once you show them *in game* that you won't take anymore crap or fall for their silly pranks, it'll stop. Just don't feel guilty about saying no.

Joke lotting is kinda funny but I only do it if there are other items in the Treasure Pool... Like I would lot on the earth crystal, not the Rare/Ex item, just to freak the person out (works better when the text is scrolling quickly).

Zoning Marchelute to Selbina is just plain stupid. I remember there were a couple of "High-Levels" doing this, just to show off. They would fight him right at the zone, in front of n00bs for some ooohs and ahhhs. :roll:

Pulling a mob that you are uncertain of it's power is ok if you want to take a chance. Just make sure you are not putting others in danger and make sure you have an escape plan just in case. Or if it is at the end of your xp session and everyone agrees on using their "2HR" on it, to get the win. If you know there is no chance in hell on surviving, don't try it.

God I hate when people pop him and have no intent of killing him, so many people are gonna die and not just noobs. I got aggroed by this bich just traveling to selbina for some milk, and being the nice person I am, i didnt zone it but took it far away and Warped (almost dead mind you). But ya force poping nms like this is just plain rude. Not funny!

Whenever something like this drops, and I'm curious how I'd do in the lotting, I always /random. It doesn't piss anyone off, it doesn't potentially screw over the other people, and it satisfies my curiosity.

The rest of the stuff isn't funny. I could understand if they called you for a raise and then a whm happened upon them while you were in transit, but that's certainly nothing to joke about. I've had that happen before, after I spent 1500 on a bird at mea, but they at least apologized.

A lot of bad stuff keeps happening to Ish, I'd start to wonder if these people get off on causing trouble for others and tell people like themselves who to target for this crap.

Mish, when you're camping with someone on a Rare/EX item like that...just set you to Party Quartermaster, works just fine that way they don't get the chance to lot

Well, if my amigo was running, slipped on something he put ont he floor seconds ago, and was ok I would be laughing my ass off.

But if someone is gasping and gushing blood... that's not funny lol. Making fun of true anguish or sorrow is never funny, but if they're ok it's your duty to make them feel bad. ;p

And, well, sorry to say, but when I trust someone enough to call them a friend and crap, I'd expect they pass when a item I need [that we were hunting for] drops, rather than actually lot of it for laughs. If I helped hunt for a Kard, I sure as well wouldn't even RISK lotting on it because of crap like that happening.

And while I'm pissed at a good amount of people for pulling that crap on me, I'm not gonna call them out...yet. But frankly, I'm getting totally sick of being the butt of these poor "jokes"..

Actually just to say it Old-Two-Wings IS barely harder than the orginial mob type, Citadel bats. He hits the same and just has about triple the HP.

Lotting on a Crab Apron is NOT FUNNY. My mage I started on Shiva had worm and skull by eighteen because no one dicked around with them. The CRAB APRON is what I needed help with.

Every asshole thought it'd be funny to lot, or disband, or some other goofy tactic to screw me out of an actually importent item.

That was a hard one to explain to the Bst who was helping people get items.
