If you guys want your cheap Shihei back, tell Bigric and his pals to return the price of black ink to 5k from 10k, and bast parchment from 13k back to 10k. I dunno if these guys are gilsellers or what, but there are a lot of people that use shihei, and I imagine they aren't happy to be paying 2k more /stack of the stuff.

The costs are getting passed through to all the ninjas, and I'm not making much more profit on Shihei, so I'd be happy to sell it at the old 6-7k/stack price, instead of this 8.1-10k price, if the mats return to normal.

I haven't totally looked into what might be driving the materials prices up. Did nemibonite fishing get gimped or something? What's going on over there, alchemists?
 
lvl alchemy to 60, it takes like 2 days and less than a mil, you'll be able to HQ it real nice. most WW don't buy black ink.

Well we can't all RMT powerlevel high level cloth like some NA weavers on Quetzy. Anyways my name is HotHotHeat on Socom, after the second greatest band in the world and it's all I play. Haven't touched FF in a month now or so.

If the price of materials dropped, I don't think you'd have much of a choice with all of the other people trying to make a profit off shihei. :)
 
Alchemy isn't all that hard. Most of the big money stuff you can farm right outside any of the towns with bee's :) I know I'll spend an afternoon farming in the highlands for chips and HQ it into wax to sell on AH. Alchemy's easy and has a great turn around for profit, but like everything else in this game, it takes patience. Best of luck to you! If you need a guide to lvling this craft, give me a tell in game ;)

Have 53 Alchemy on a mule not that hard just need a grip of water crystals and cheap materials. Check out www.somepage.com for recipes and shops that sell materials. Level smithing to 14 too for bolt heads.

As for bigric lol same as skylong both have bought their airship passes in jeuno to buy lumber at the airport shops. Crafting gilsellers same as basdfg.

yeah buying materials to craft shihei is a joke, buy the logs in safehold make your own parchment, make your own black ink, hell i go as far as even fishing up my own nebs to make the ink, but idk i see profit as the more you get yourself the more you make, sure with my thf i can farm more money an hour then i can catch in fish, but to me doing different things instead of the same old grind keeps it exciting.

idk, most people don't generally give away their secrets to earn, i remember the old meeze, he was a baller way before everyone on this board knew who he was, their are alot of rich players who make their gil "quietly" sure, people /check me sometimes and instantly acuse me of RMT and shit, i just laugh, not my fault your ass is so sad you can't figure out how to earn gil.

Anyways back to the topic, Cheap shihei synth. Lvl alchemy to atleast 45. you can do this for free. buy fishing up yellow globes and cobalt jelly fish on the docks in jeuno, need 0 fishing to do this, make the poison powders and what not at start, then you have materials for your next synth, and you can make it - sell it for future synths, alchemy for early stages are all consumable items, you can make them at no loss, even small profit if you farm your own clusters and have minimal breaks.

Now with alchemy sub, you make your own ink at an HQ rate, you can synth your own bast parchment for around 7-8K a stack, and you can bang out shihei for less then 5K a stack, now bundle it up, saves space and is worth more.

Actually, you can make Black Ink with Calamary so it's not the true cause of the price increase. If anything, it should go down since more fishes can do the recipe.

You need two Cone Calamary, where as you'd only need one Nebimonite. Back before they added Cones, Nebs and Monsters were the only thing you could catch with crayfish paste. Now it's Nebs, Monsters, and retardo-squids.

I'm not much of a fisherman so I don't know what the calamary/nebs ratio is on catching them, but I could see the price of black ink go up if Nebs became rarer, period. But in that case, there is an alternative. Even if it takes 2 Calamary to make one ink, each bite (other then monster) still provide the material to make the ink.

Granted, 2 calamary vs 1 neb to make the ink, so technically 2 stacks of fish vs 1 stack. But is'nt calamary like half the price of nebs? And if not, spread that on all the HQ you get, you should'nt see a difference, if any, on the cost to make Black Ink.

I have'nt made ink in ages, but I think the problem is more that few people know you can make ink with calamary, so they don't sell, meaning fishermen don't put them on AH and put the Nebimonite for more, since they throw away Calamary, i.e. the bait/ time to.

I could be wrong tho for that last part. :wink:
