Elemmire... I've avoided saying anything to you on this subject because you've been super helpful to me in the past, and I've had good conversations with you, but I've had just about enough of you calling me greedy and selfish.
First your problem is NM camping in general, because only people that need the item to wear should get it. In that case, I think crafters should stop crafting items to sell, and they should only craft stuff they can wear. Before you say that it's different because crafting requires time and money to get to the point where you can make those items... Guess what? So does NM camping. Before you say that that's ridiculous because people don't want to spend the time and money crafting to make that item, and they benefit from just buying it... what about the people who want an emp pin, leaping boots, a PCC, but would rather make the gil for it through other methods and buy them, then camp it for days, weeks, or even months themselves?
Next, when it was finally hammered home to you that your "NM camping is the devil" argument was retarded, you changed your problem to people only using one method to make gil, which is
not what you said in the first place, it's just a weak coverup. So, onto this point, what the hell is wrong with finding your gil making niche, and sticking with it? Should everyone in RL work multiple jobs for no reason, when they could work one fulltime that pays more, or they enjoy more, than the others?
Despite my feelings that just using one gilmaking method is good enough... when did I ever say all I do is camp NM's? I've tried more gilmaking schemes than you could possibly dream of, kthx. Currently I focus on two... Camping NM's, and the rare HQ smithing synth. But as Alanon has pointed out, there's no real profit from the smithing, because any gil I make from it, and more, goes right back into it smithing for skillups.

Xerius.. have you heard of FARMING FOR YOUR MATERIALS?
Xerious answered that question in the exact same post that you were replying to. I don't even know why I'm bothering with this, it's apparent you only pick out the bits and pieces of posts that you want to pick out.

Furthermore, you farming items and then crafting then into something you can sell isnt pure profit. You ahve to subtract the cost ingredients you farmed from the final product, because you have to include each item that you farmed as being a cost as well. I dont really understand how why people say u if you farm the ingredients it doesnt count into the cost because no matter what you could sell the item for the AH cost. Not sure if u guys understand what i mean exactly but i can clarify if need be.
You
can NOT subtract the cost of farmed materials from your synth cost. You could sell those same materials on the AH for whatever cost, so you still lose the gil. For example, Adaman ore = 90k. If you mine an Adaman ore, it's still worth 90k, so you have a potential 90k sitting in your inventory, that you're about to sink into a synth. If you buy an adaman ore for 90k, its still a potential 90k sitting in your inventory, that you're about to sink into a synth. I don't expect you to understand this, my Master Crafter friend, but maybe when you get some real crafting experience, it will start to make sense.
Shizia: Read over Rinoah's post a few times, and make sure you understand it before posting again.
