My boys just got SHOCKEY!!!!!!!!!!!

First stop: NFC south champions
Second Stop: NFC Champions
Third Stop: Superbowl champions

These are aren't your father's AINTS!

No Ironhead Heyward, no care. Seriously, he was one of my favorites growing up.

They're still not a playoff team. He's a headcase.

In the NFC? I think you're mistaken :P

Our division is Atlanta (LOL), Carolina (jake coming off Tommy John surgery), Tampa Bay (defense getting old, but solid)

Uh yea, in the NFC.

Tampa Bay is the division winner until you beat em. Saints CAN win the division though it's otherwise soft. Don't count on the wildcard, the entire world knows 3 playoff teams are coming out of the east. (Probably Dallas, Washington, and NY again.)

Don't count out the NFC North. The vikings are going to be real solid this year, and Green Bay still has a good team, regardless of which QB they go with. It's possible one of the wild cards comes out of the North.

shockey will bring the same garbage to this team. selfish player with too much of a downside to be worth it.

LOLNFCN

The Lions have never EEEEEEEVER...won in DC. The Cowboys clocked the Packers on National TV. The Redskins stomped the Bears and red hot Vikings to earn their playoff spot last year. The Giants straight up beat Green Bay in their house to go on and win the Super Bowl.

Totally different class of football in those divisions. Not one cupcake in the NFC East. Not one losing record. Head to head the NFC east clobbered the norris last year. I actually feel it's laughable when people attempt to compare the Chi-GB rivalry to Skins-Dallas.

I was shocked the Bears beat the Saints a couple of years ago enroute to losing to the Colts. I'd pick the top two teams from the south (Tampa and New Orleans) over the north. I'm not just a buyer into it being all black and blue.

Counting out Delhomme because he had Tommy John surgery isn't smart. That's one of the most reliable surgerys any player can undergo and come back as good as before, if they allow the arm to heal and go through all the proper therapy. Delhomme has done this.

I'd be counting more on the Panthers lack of a solid O-line or D-line. The offensive line is basically a big game of musical chairs. And the defensive line is a bunch of mediocre players with the exception of Julius Peppers, who is coming off his worst season ever.

You'd better hope Shockey fits in well with the Saints. He may be your better than average TE, but he played for the Hurricanes. Dude's fucking out of his mind. Congratulations on picking up a white TO.

Kay, I never once mentioned the lions, because they suck, and same with the bears. As a matter of fact, the fact that they suck is just one more reason to watch the Packers and Vikings, because they should get four reasonably easy games facing those two teams. Your apparent love for the NFC east is yet another reason that the NFC North could spawn a wildcard team, as the NFC east will be beating up on each other because, as you say, they're all a tough team.

I'm not saying in any way that I think the NFC north is a better division than your NFC east, just saying that given the circumstances, I would not be surprised if a wildcard came out of the North.

Edit: Also, the Skins were much better than they probably should have been the last few games of last season, for obvious, and unfortunate, reasons.

LOL NFC East... Washington very overrated. Our division will put one team into the playoffs and it'll be the Saints. Vilma, Mcray, Ellis, Smith, Grant, revamped defense. Offense has been top 5 last two years without Shockey.

Payton was the OC under the Giants Shockey's first year, also was his best year. He wanted to be here. He'll cause no problems this year, which is what counts for me.

I see we have a NFC east fan. HMMM let me see, what happened last time the Saints played that division? Lets see, we routed the Cowboys on national television by 30 pts. We routed the Giants by more then 20 pts. We beat the Eagles twice in that year including the playoffs. Oh yeah, both teams still look identical from the year we mowed through that division. Giants have lost over 5 starters from last year, they're the only team thats changed. Yeah im not worried.

Only reason im talking about the past is because you brought it up.

Seriously? That's what you want to go with? Sean Taylor's tragedy in no way put on a #15 Jersey and won 5 straight games without throwing an interception. That was Todd Collins. If you want to blame any part of last season on the loss of Sean Taylor, talk about the Bills game where the Redskins lost at home emotionally drained.

Yea, the past is harsh sometimes. I'm curious, while throwing around all of those NFC East games I noticed you left the Redskins off of your little "hit list". Hm. Who won that last Redskins-'Aints meeting?

Right, right....

Washington 16-10

Last years battle tested Super Bowl champ came from the NFC East. This years paper champion (who I completely despise) is also an NFC East squad.

You can have Shockey.

Todd Collins was a great story, but that team was just flat out playing inspired.

I left out Washington because ummm we lost? It's hard as hell to sweep a whole division, i mean come on, give us a little credit lol.

Gosh i love sports, it brings out the blood in fans!

Thanks Lanien, ill take him! Some players don't fit in certain systems and can thrive in other places. In NO, Shockey will have plenty of balls thrown his way. Drew Brees is used too and wants to work in with a TE (Gates from SD is a good example) that can catch down the field.

Let's look at a few examples of disgruntled athletes that are complete "cancers" that changed scenery.

1. Corey Dillion- Went to NE and shut the hell up. Won a championship, and dont give me it's NE and they are no-nonsense team, thats bullshit and we know it. If a player is a cancer, he's a cancer everywhere. Better Football team with him

2. Randy Moss- Yet again, to NE. Better football team with him

3. Terell Owens- Hate to use him, but since he's been in Dallas, he hasnt gotten in trouble and they are a better football team because of him.

Just those few players pushed there respective teams over the edge. Dallas didnt win the superbowl but they did go 14-2 and had a shot.

All im saying is Shockey fits into our system. I wouldnt take a T.O or Chad Johnson, but our offense is built to make use of a TE.

Also, it's a common mistake for people to think Tommy John Surgery can make people throw faster. Thats false and compared to people who actually recieve the surgery is rare.

The fact that Jake needed surgery that is common to Pitchers who throw much harder and throw much more is a sign that Jake had/has problems. How many QB's do you know that needed that surgery? Risk of reinjury is moderate. Players tend to push themselves and even though it takes right at 20 months for recovery, players push themselves to reinjury.

I hope he's ok though, truthfully i dont wish injury on any player. Also I used to chant his name at the Dome when Aaron Brooks was our starter lol.

.

This is wrong. The Patriots ARE a different team than the rest of the NFL, especially the Cowboys. Pretty much every other team would have resigned Deion Branch, and Asante Samuel. Not to mention, pretty much every other team would not have been able to afford Randy Moss in the Pats' situation, because, in case you weren't aware, Tom Brady restructured his contract to reduce his pay to make cap space for Moss to come play for NE.

That's no good either.

How many disgruntled athletes have gone elsewhere and bombed? Javon Walker? Elvis Grbac? Randy Moss (Oakland)? Ryan Leaf?

Javon Walker, when's the last time he's been healthy?

Randy Moss and Oakland, he's not the only one causing problems there, half the roster is/was. That organization is terrible.

Only time you see players show there ass is on teams that completely bomb. I used to think differently with T.O and the Eagles, but the last few years has showed Mcnabb not being the angel everybody thought he was. It's simple, great players are "me" type guys. They believe they can carry a team and turn the tide. If they go to a team that uses them more they believe they can turn a team into a championship team.
