Signature help

Ok I am probably the worst when it comes to computers, but I really want to make a signature for my profile. Can someone help me out? I just need advice and tips.

First things first: What programs do you have to work with?

Well I really don't have an art program and I am wanting to do some beautiful yet mysterious cause my main job is going to be thief. I am also a bit of a cluts when it comes to computers and it takes me forever to really get something right.

The program Gimp is like photoshop, but its free. Smashing Magazine also has a few links here for graphic editing programs. most of them are also free. I'd recommend Gimp first if your a beginner and if can't get photoshop.

Signatures can be made with just about any imaging editing program though, just a matter of getting familar with the settings. I hope this helps!

^ What Misi said. Gimp is a good program to start up with if you don't already have Photoshop.

There are several tutorials stickied just above this thread, too, that all deserve a good look at.

If you play Final Fantasy on the PC I would recommend downloading Model Viewer if you haven't already. This can save you the trouble of needing a screenshot for every signature you make, and you can pose/dress up your character to your liking.

Signature making can be enjoyable (I sure like to do it!) but it also takes quite a bit of patience. Once you get the hang of it, it really isn't that bad. :thumbsup:

I play the game pn PS2 and my patient is pretty good but I get head aches from staring at the screen to long . Maybe I should just see if someone can make one for me ; ; cause knowing my luck I would just mess it up.

That would be great ^^ though I really don't know what gear there is for a thief and I'm just starting out so I won't know for a while. I could at least tell you what my character looks like, but that is all I would be able to do, ; ;.

That would be fine so long as you tell whoever you are requesting the signature from what kind of details you want to be included and what your character looks like.

what do you mean by details?

What do you want the background to look like, what is your character, what do you want them to be doing whether its my sig, completely animated, or a stand still, in a certain position.

Oh ok, I think I understand that. So do I just post in one of the request threads then for a signature request?
