Silly Putty, and the Off Hand.

Apparently it's only +2 starting with the third member, so a full party gets +8 rather than +10 from the bonus.

And personally I'd go with Perdu over Company: added acc and added att and lower delay all compensate somewhat for the higher DMG, and the delay furthermore results in a good ~8% less time to get 100% TP. And I'm sure I don't have to describe the benefits of that.

I thought it was 56. 46 base, +2 per member in pt not including yourself.

As for testing - it's not as difficult as it seems, it just requires some co-operation from your pt. Just don't dual wield. Mainhand Company for a couple dozen fights, let the parser pick up melee low/high and crit low/high along with WS low/high/avg/count. Do the same for perdu, compare to see which is better.

And I thought it was 51, +1 per member in pt not including yourself. I meant to ask Phraust where he saw his dmg number.

Naw, it's 54 it only starts kickign in when you are in a "party" I.E. not a duo. So it ignores you and the next person in the group. I thought it ignores the first 2 people in the group besides yourself.

And I seriously hope you were joking about the second part of your post...

This isn't a question of which sword is better, it's a question of which combination is better for exp/merit. If I really wanted to, I could do bullshit tests on rabbits that don't mean jack fucking shit in real world aplication.(Hate those "rabbit tests" with a passion)

The thing is I am trying to test the "Best" settup. So far, the Added 15 Attack and 5 Accuracy that is on the Perdu Blade, that Carry's over to the Ridill has the more optimal effect on the complete settup as a whole. If I tested JUST the company sword the test would be moot, and I might as well kill those pesky lagamorphs in Ronfaure.... Company Sword on a Mainhand/no offhand would beat it right out, it's got an Estimated DPS of something like 12.63, and an insane amount of base Damage for Weaponskill. That's why I have been so curious. But in Preliminary "tests" it has shown Speed > DPS and Base Damage.

Thus the need for more "Real World Application" tests.

Phraust, we can test this saturday night if you'd like head to head.

M'k

I pretty much got everythimg tested, just need some good solid consistant numbers, stuff I can post, etc.

That'd be great.

Test configurations:

Perdu/Ridill
Company/Ridill
Maneater/Ridill

Idk if everyone, or even the camp itself would be able to last 3 hours, 1 hour per scenario. But I'd like to do what I can =]

Yeah sorry misunderstood.

TBH for this to really be a viable comparison, you 'should' have full axe merits before going in, otherwise the maneater is at a slight disadvantage.

Well if you're going to be testing those might as well see how sword/non ridill sword holds up. The majority don't have a ridill and those people would like to see those results as well

Ah..

But...

They are at least on equal footing =P 271 sword, 271 Axe.

I know what you mean. (And to the trailing comments in posts)

I know that even if Axe merits made of for the roughly 3% more damage I do using Sword/Ridill, at the very most it might be "even". Leaving the choice strictly up to Play Style, at which point both options are equally viable.

What I personally am hoping for is for a more even parse. The parties I was in were so heavily slanted(me dealing ~38% - ~44% of total Damage/round), I might go so far as to say that with a lower % of damage done the difference between axe/sword will increase in favor of the sword.

These are the preliminary Parse results from testing Company Sword vs. Perdu Hanger.

Before you read the results take note the following:
The mobs were trolls, While the parse for the Company Sword was pretty "Clean" the second set was a little messed up. there was an exceptionally rude JP party that moved in and started pulling our mobs. There was quite a few times where the party members were off trying to claim and hold mobs as they popped.

The party was 2 hours, 1 hour on each weapon, I could not test the Maneater in this set, due to the other party and general fatigue.

Phraust: Warrior
Mistra: Ninja
Jamal: Warrior
Steerpike: Dragoon

Company Sword:

Perdu Hanger:

Personally I am not satisfied with the results. But there they are.
Now that I got off may ass and made a photobucket account I will be able to throw more info up.... Going to test again later.

Holy hell 18.55% crits for the second round O.o for me mwahahaha.

But yea, its not a true look because of the JPN party ruining things. I should have just /c them all so they'd /tell spam with me instead of fighting.

Kinda funny my crit rate was capped the whole night, lol

*edit* was also first voke and hojo duty for the night, no one died, hurray!

I was just curious about that other party, I mean there's no way their Brds could have been getting exp.

Yea, the bard and Cor were both way too far away from where the kills were occuring to get experience from the party. Reise was using w.legs on COR, but that only helped him be further away from his party

They could have theoretically just been there to help (or if they found it fun). If someone has had BRD levelled for some time, and merits halfway frequently, and especially if they don't have too many other jobs levelled, they'll eventually just run out of stuff to merit. At which point, of course, they don't need to stay in range. :P

Granted, if I ever got to that point, I'd probably just raise my middle finger at anyone asking me to merit. But then again I take any excuse to be lazy.

The COR was lvl 74, so I doubt this is the case. I think the entire party was there for him to lvl, as it was the elitest jpn, aka Danzig etc. This is why it was really surprising that the COR wasn't there for the majority of the kills.

Well, I know I can be surprisingly far away and still get exp, but there's also the times when I'm just that little bit *too* far away and I get the "you are too far away" message and grumble to myself. But if the mob dies when the puller's on the way out or on the way back (rather than near the furthest point they run out), the puller will usually get the exp from it.

And if the COR was there to level and wasn't getting any exp, I can't imagine he would've stayed. Unless, of course, it was someone else playing the COR just for the sake of having a COR in the party, and they weren't concerned with getting the COR their own exp. :P

Sorry if I missed it, but why do 1hit sword/ridill when you can ridill/joyeuse? (speaking strictly double-sword combos here)
