Sky RMT Ripped Off by a Taru With No Panties

Good job, but if they call a GM, you can get temp banned and they (gm) will make you pay up.

Happened before.

this makes me smile

its about time someone got back at rmt

Grats, I remember my LS chatting about this the night you were planning to go through with it =P

This thread is interesting though. I remember a similar thing happening with a Amity Cape and people were slinging stones...

XD i wasnt trying to sell you to RMT's i was simply trying to give the RMT something worth a set of panties.

So you get the panties, I get Kero? :nyam:

Did the credits roll up your screen when you obtained them?

QFT

Yeah I've been planning to this but yah beat me to it! Congratulations! I was having them set up one for me, I even haggled over the price like it mattered, but alas they never called me back up.

As they should be now(I'm only posting this now because I didn't see the thread earlier), he got the item, but he used immoral means to do it. Just because it's RMT everyone's treating him like a hero, when in reality he's a thief; no one cares because he stole from a wildly unpopular group. I don't like RMT either, but I don't think bragging about how he stole from them is in any way praiseworthy. If nothing else, he's shown he's just as low as they are by using their tactics, namely stealing when possible. He got something he didn't deserve by stealing, who he stole from should be irrelevant.

i'll be honest.. i kinda feel the same way here sorta.

i mean its always fun to piss off rmt but i mean if u payed them money for an item... well... i could be wrong but i thought i saw in the front that 500k was payed. but if that's true i mean grats on pissing them off but you didn't even put any time or effort to really deserve the pants like many people in sky shells do... you basiclly bought them from rmt xD which is never good ;;

i dunno kinda touchy subject cuz i like to piss rmt off myself but it must be nice not having to work hard for something that alota people work pretty hard for. meh ~

Oh god, this again?
I stand by what I've said in the past, the item is deserved by someone who can do this, if nothing more than as a reward for pissing in RMT's cheerios. They aren't "a wildly unpopular group", they are wholly illegitimate players, deserving of no more respect than an enemy NPC. They deserve to be killed, they deserve to be stolen from, and if you get something out of it, all the better. You've earned it.

Don't listen to people who say things like this. You deserve those pants on the grounds that you put a dent in RMT's plans, if nothing more. Good job.

i guess my big issue is if he payed that 500k or w/e to begin with if so.. well.....

So wait, we cheer on people who take things through shady means from people who we hate for being shady/illegitimate players? That makes sense. But maybe I'm one of a minority who think the word "earn" means something else entirely.

I'm all for ganking the RMT when you can. But you don't have to stoop to their level to do it.

So stealing is ok, as long as you steal from a group people outright hate. They're not much more illegitimate than OH was back in it's hack-a-thon days(or any other LS that employs bots regularly), so if anyone stole from that group, they should be cheered as heroes and not treated as theives?

It'd be one thing if you caused them to lose the haidate, it's another entirely to keep it for yourself. He didn't try to "stick it to the RMT," he just stole the item. If you want to hurt the RMT and not benefit through outright theft, toss the pants; otherwise you're really no better than they are.

The whole idea of "two wrongs don't make a right," is what's going on here. Apparently some people disagree as long as you wrong the correct group.

Stealing is okay, as long as you steal from a group that are not even players. RMT are a lot less legitimate than OH was, and this is from someone who despises almost every single person to set foot in that shell. OH members at least met the requirement of people playing the game for the game, something RMT can't claim.

That being said, dropping the haidate right this second hurts the RMT how?
That's right, it doesn't. What hurts the RMT is that they lost an opportunity, wasted time, seals, and a lost drop they can't sell to some other sucker who doesn't know/care any better.

Sure, some people manage to stab RMT in the back whenever possible for no reward, but damn. If you can cause RMT to lose some byakko seals, you deserve the pants. It may not be much, but it's a pleasant thing for many people and a kick in the ass for RMT. It's earned, it's deserved, and it's no more wrong than stealing from a mob or non-player character. They aren't players. They never were, they never will be. They exist solely to perform actions outside of FFXI that are against the terms of service.

So you'd better drop your Ducal Guard's Ring if you have it, because it was stolen from a source that is just as much a player as they are.

It hurts them in the same way that keeping them hurts RMT; RMT don't get to wear it and can't sell it, keeping it does nothing more than that. If he just wanted to hurt RMT, that's all he'd have to do; keeping it just makes him a thief.

Apparently it's ok for some people to benefit directly from RMT, as long as they post about it in good times.

If the RMT didn't bot/hack, no one would give a shit what they did, so it's the fact that they hack that makes them hated. Therefore, any other hacking linkshell is "just as bad" as the RMT.
Actually, I'd hate them even if they didn't, especially when they get their numbers into anything involving competition. Every claim they make is another one a legitimate player didn't get.

Sure, keeping them makes him a thief. A thief is one who steals something.
Do we criticize a player who steals from an enemy monster?
No. Why? Because it's not a player being stolen from.
Do we criticize a player who, as I said above, steals the ducal guard's ring from [spoilers]?
No. Why? Because it's not a player being stolen from.
Should we care when a player steals an item from RMT, even if they keep it?
No.

Kantian deontology is so late 18th century.

garvin u crack me up lol not tryin to be mean or anything but damn u seem mad alot from ur posts... just what i get from it ^.^

anyway back to the point... i honestly dont think the haidate was deserved like you said man. i mean it was kinda.. uh bought lol.

if ur paying money at all to rmt for an item whethere its 10gil 500k or 8mil then wtf r u doing i mean u might as well just go to e bay and buy gil cuz its the same thing.

ya he screwed them over which is funny and nice and we like to enjoy seeing rmt in pain but the fact that he payed them money puts a damper on the whole thing to me ;/

Weather he likes it or not, he still participated in RMT. He paid 500k for the pants. Granted, the RMT wanted 7M for it, but he more or less forcfully haggeled the price down to 500k by STEALING. The RMT didn't get all the money they wanted, but money is money to them. They can get another byakko pop in a matter of hours by botting. You really didn't set them back all that much.

And you're proving my point, people hate the gilfarmers because they hack and remove any fair competition from anything they go after. If they didn't hack and camped/killed just like a normal LS, no one would even care about them because they would be just like everyone else. You don't care what legit LS X, Y, or Z does with their drops and if the RMT didn't bot, they'd be the same.

Regardless of if you'd hate them or not, it's still theft. You care when someone hacks and just creates gil, even though he's not "stealing" from a player.

I like Kant though.
