Mmmm. Many many experiences I could give to this thread. I'll give a few though. Too bad I didn't have fraps then ><
Was going to Cape Terrigan for EXP. Heading through Kuftal, Guivre was up. I casted sneak on the THF/NIN at the beginning of Kuftal and once near the room Guivre likes to slaughter people in. S/he casted Tonko: Ichi so I started heading to Terrigan zone before my sneak and invis wore off. I get to the zone, look at map to make sure everyone was with me, and there he was standing in Guivre's room. I thought he had to run back to cast Tonko so no problem. Next thing I see is his HP at zero. I asked what happened, he replied with "My invis wore off when you took off". Um.. why didn't you recast? "Because I don't want to waste my Ninja Tools". I go all the way back to get raise him, and he gets up RIGHT when Guivre is standing over him. He dies AGAIN. By this time I'm extremely annoyed, tractor him, raise him, wait for him to recover from weakness (he wouldn't move until he did), just for him to go and run right in front of Guivre then bring it back to where I was. He died, I died. BLM was kind enough to come get me but we kicked him after that. Luckily there was another THF seeking who knew what Silent Oils and Tonko is for.
In another experience, I went to help a bunch of people get their ZM5. I told them at least 12 times that they needed silent oils and prism powders because I could not cast in there without aggro. I was the only mage. That was bad enough. Everyone starts grumbling and told me they had them. We get there, I sneak and invis everyone at the beginning since it was safe, got kind of far in and someone's sneak started wearing. S/he bitches at ME to sneak him/her after I told them to pick up oils. I told him/her to use an oil and he said he didn't bring any. By this time, many people's invis and sneak were wearing. Only ONE person brought oils and powders like I told them to. Needless to say, I warped. I got the other guy that remembered when he got back to Jeuno (they never did get there because DRK's refused to stun bombs' self-destruct so everyone died), and got a party together for him to go. At least the 2nd party knew wtf I meant by "GRAB SNEAK OILS AND PRISM POWDERS".
Ahh. I'll never forget my first time in Den of Rancor. We were after an NM in there for someone. I was told to bring oils and powders so I warned the others. They all rolled their eyes pretty much. We got down there, used an oil and powder, and got going. Soon, someone was wearing. He told me to cast on him right next to all these damn tonberries. I told him to use a powder and he said he only brought one. WTF?! He decided he could miss aggro by running behind the tonberries. He got about 20 links and killed us all. We HPed, they asked to try it again, I disband. {I'm sorry.} Idiots? {No thanks.}
Here's an idea : Farm Raptor Skins. Farm Tiger Teeth. Go terrorize Delkfutt's. Trust me, it's not hard to get gil for them.
I carry 1 stack of oils, 1 stack of powders, 1 stack of echo drops, 2 pear a[tab] (hp regen things), and 2 yagudo drinks where ever I go.
