So, FFVIII?

I'm on the third game of .hack. I just cant make myself continue. From the beginning it was for the .hack story. But damn man, this game is stupid. I'll probably finish it someday when I can get into it again after long breaks. Bottom line, story is the only thing the game has going for it, and even that FF games do better.

Comparing .hack to FF is a no, just no.
 
i never played the second ZoE. Why...because i wasted my money on the first one to come home...and beat the game in 20 minutes. No joke. Shortest fuckin game ever. I took it back and got a refund.
 
I didn't get very far in Zone of the Enders. I only bought it for the Metal Gear Solid 2 demo. lol

I've played and watched enough of the 2nd, 3rd, and 4th games to know that they're the same goddamn thing as the first.

We see people debating about whos better, Squall or Cloud. I think that we need to stop debating for a minute and look at a very nice scene from Kingdom Hearts 2: Cloud and Squall fight side by side and kick ass. Isnt that a much more interesting and entertaining thought then "Whos gonna kick whos ass?"
 
I thought the ZoE game/anime was good, just....the fact that ZoE 1/2 combined was shorter than most NES games I know makes me pretty annoyed...


"Cloud vs Squall, which is better"? I'm sure there's a couple dozen/hundred doujins out there that try to answer that question, it just sortof derails in the end...or is that actually the answer itself? :roll:

Both of them are emo in my opinion. Spoony Bard > them.

I must admit that the first time playing through FFVIII I did not like it much, purely because I did not understand the junction system too well, and I mostly got my ass handed to me. When I reached Ultimacea, I could not beat her, nor even come close. I put the game away for quite some time, and then picked it up again, and started over. The next time around, I absolutely loved it. I got the junction system, and paid much more attention to the story. The graphics in the game are just amazing, especially for a PS1 title. The story, well, it's a story that you have to pay utterly close attention to in order to understand it well. The music was wonderful, probably the best I have heard yet in a Final Fantasy game. Overall, it's pretty fun to keep playing. I think before I finally retired my playstation, I played FF8 through around 3-4 times, and loved it each time.

PS- Am I the only person here who put together the ending in its entirety? That Rinoah was Ultimacea?
 
Eh, I thought FF8's story was too jumpy and generally uninteresting.

And I think if I hadn't understood Junction it would've been a lot more fun >_> the game was WAY too easy.

I'd say let Capcom take over the FF series and come out with Final Fantasy 7 vs. Final Fantasy 8 series. You know, since they are pro at combining 2 different things and making a pretty sweet game. (Marvel vs. Capcom)

I'm sure that would answer everyones question. and about Final Fantasy 8, here is what my major "boss" battles consisted of.

Cerebrus>Aura x3>Fast ammo(Irvine)>Lion Heart>Done

Too easy.The card game was addicting though.
