For the record that healing staff was sold because somebody said "Just don't sell my drk stuff" and also said "ffxi sucks, fuck that game." =P

That fight was beyond Epic. Let me explain. We were fighting it.. everything was fine, but it was taking a little longer than expected. Aced showed up on THF.. but we didn't have time for him to either.. go through the past, or get past the doors, and TH sounded like a good idea. So no sooner do we pull it off the cliff, the damn thing rages. So I throw up Hymnus, and we wiped. Rappa ended up only having to raise one person I think. Soo.. We all run like hell through Garliage, through the doors... The funniest part was.. No one had any MP except for JP and I.. So he runs out and vokes it, and I slept it.. Then ran back to ballad the mages....5 minutes later it was dead. It was the most retardedly epic fight I've ever taken part in. I'm so glad that damn staff dropped... It was too hillarious to not drop.

Well that's a bit of an understatement, lol. Willian the rng/nin tank of doom was down and we had to sleep Roc till I could get him up and his weakness wore, lol. Of course by the time all that was done everyone was showing up. If they'd gotten there 5 mins faster we could've beat it without the rage, but that would've been boring. :P

After getting bored of WoW and playing other free mmos and just not getting into them, I decided to log into Rappa again and see how the world of FFXI was going...

First thing I decide is to level rdm with a friend. Levelling was always a fun thing to do in-game. So in the span of the week we've xped a few times and I've gone from 47 to 55. I've already gone out and gotten most of my af for it as well. I also found time to go 1/1 on MMP and pick up a moldavite earring for my 1337 rdm n00ks.

Since a certain flamboyantly dressed drg pawned my Healing Staff while he was using it (with my blessing of course), I decided I'd just go and get the r/e version to replace it. After leaving Rappa afk up where Roc spawns for about 14 hours while I worked and played other games, I got ToD and brought out my own crew the next day. It didn't drop, but that wasn't going to stop me. A new crew went out the following day. Roc popped and out of worry of losing him we claimed with a very unprepared group (a couple mages and a rng/nin that managed to tank it until well after Benediction). Long story short we all died before a real tank made it there. No problem, we ran back through Garlaige again (don't ask, lol) and we took him down. Staff drops. I lot and start to celebrate, then I see that dreaded R0 up in the corner! OHSHITOHSHIT! Luckily everyone managed to pass before I got the boot so I got the staff, fun times.

That's not all of my antics either. Since Audino had me in Shakenbake to talk to people while he was on my character, I decided to go and kill some znms with them as well. Those are a lot of fun since they are vastly different than anything I'd done prior to quitting the game. I even managed to get some r/e pants that I'll probably never use. Today I helped out some friends in sky to down a few gods, managed to pick up a w.hands abj to help out my rdm (and to a lesser extent, drk) as well. I've fought wsnms, pop nms, all kinds of crazy stuff this week..

The thing I've enjoyed most though is the community. I never left qcdn because I really love spending time with all my friends here. I didn't realize just how much I missed all the wacky in-game shenanigans until I started playing again. I don't know how long I'll be playing the game again, it's a good time-killer, though I'm looking forward to D3 as well. But I do know this, no matter what games I end up playing, I can never imagine playing one where I will meet as many awesome people as I've met here. Thanks for being so awesome, everyone. Remember that years from now, all that gear you're always fighting with your friends for isn't going to mean shit, but those friends could be important for the rest of your life.

Welcome back and congratulations on the staff replacement Rappa! It sounds like it was a lot of fun. lol I find that most things in the game aren't fun unless at least one person dies. I'm glad to hear that you are enjoying FFXI again.

welcome back rappa i too have taken time off here n there when ffxi stops being fun.
I always come back though , and when i do, i feel revitalized and i definately agree with you on the friends thing. I came back and pretty much all the nm's rmt made a killing on now drop rare/ex versions all i have to say is it's about time.
