So, who is checking out the re-release of FFXIV?

People are actually kicking legacy characters from parties? That's about the dumbest thing ever. They're level 50, so they don't actually need the gear. Which should mean, more gear for you if you need it and it drops. Less competition, plus they already have exceptionally good gear, even if it is scaled down.
 
A group of old school players are going to be on Excalibur playing together. Mostly seems to be a mix of old Dragon Ash and BHE and a few others.

I'll be rolling on Hyperion with some buds, but if there's some majority consensus I wouldn't mind rolling a second character to stalk Quetzies on.
 
seen the majority of quetzys mention Hyperion, if you do roll hyperion give http://bnyc.guildwork.com some consideration, a collection of old peeps from Istory that are all transfering to Hyperion together, you may even know a few of em already if you were playing on Istory.

Haha, I was a member of the BNYC for some time. Azure Xanh drove me nuts though, I had to leave or his leadership skills were going to make me lose it haha. I joined Purity after BNYC. Maybe he got better after I left, I left on good terms though and never said anything negative. But running dungeons without any gear on because he refused to pay for repairs...Yeah, it wasn't funny at all.

As for people kicking legacy members, I have not seen it, I have just seen people building communities around not allowing Legacy players in and threatening to kick people from parties who are legacy because they are upset that we have legacy status and pay less to play than they do and have items they cannot obtain any longer. Ya know, because if legacy players had not stuck around and supported 1.0...there would be no 2.0. Hence the rewards that everyone had opportunity to obtain! Ah well, I dont imagine it will be a big deal once the game gets fully going, it will be forgotten after awhile. Its not like they can know if you are legacy anyway,
 
Yeah... the whole Legacy/Non-Legacy fight is pretty retarded to me, and I'm sure it is to most people that actually have something called common sense. I have a rather pathetic 1.0 character that I likely won't be touching.. I had him transferred to Balmung because I thought a lot of Quetz players were rolling there, but now it seems like most are going to Hyperion?

Hmm, I wonder if I can change the transfer application. Oh well. Is Balmung also still the unofficial RP server or did that change?

As for my main character, definitely have been enjoying it on Diabolos and I'm going to stick there.
 
From the old Quetz/qcdn folks I talked to in Phase 2, there are a bit of quetz players that are on Balmung already and staying there, they dont really visit this site any more, I know three of them, they told me there are more that run with them in a shell there but didnt mention many names since phase 2 was ending 10 minutes from the time I ran into them. Yeah its too late to change a world transfer now :/
as for RP server, It will be the same as it has been, RP'ers on every server in their own community/shells. They tried an "Official" before but they were still spread out among servers and really not noticeable to any of us non RP players.

ha, yeah, haven't really done much with azure, infact i don't know if I've ever run anything with him personally. I joined more for some other friends from 1.0 that are there Atreau, Astrid, Alfinia and a few others. and the rest seem to be a very friendly bunch of people. Deava of War is also going to be on Hyperion.


As to legacy Bonuses, I wasn't aware of ANY actual bonuses. Aside from the fact that we'll already have our characters rolled over from 1.0 and the gear we bring with us. What are these other bonuses?

Legacy members are locked in at paying 9.99 for 8 characters per world and a max of 40 characters for life. (This is the biggest "Thats not fair!" complaint I see).
We get our own special Chocobo mount.
we get our name in the game credits (If you remembered to register your name by the deadline)
We dont have to pay for the game again, we get the client free on top of early access.
We get all the in game CE extras that we had from 1.0 on top of the CE extras that come with 2.0 (excluding the pre order only ones, also not too sure if this only applies to 1.0 CE owners)
 
Does anyone know if I can get benefits of the welcome back campaign if I use my old keys on my new-er SE account?

Those are about the only actual advantages to having completed the Legacy campaign and obviously the lower monthly fee is by far the best perk. So I can see why some people would whine and cry over it, but it's really just that, people whining and crying for the sake of it. It doesn't bother me too much that I'll be paying the standard monthly price.

With the exception about the part of getting early access, anyone who owned version 1.0 get's the "perk" of not having to pay for the game again. It's not a Legacy member only thing.
And neither is getting the CE extras. You can be a legacy member all you want, but if all you purchased was the normal edition of 1.0 you still aren't receiving the CE items unless you pay for the upgrade.
The only players getting the 2.0 CE for "free" are players who bought the 1.0 CE, Legacy or not.

And more to the point, those 1.0 CE items don't seem to be in the game anymore (that or I just forgot what they were). The Onion Helm and those goggles were pre-order bonuses from 1.0, looks like everyone might be keeping those considering how they were available to us in P3. I was actually surprised by that.
Hope that clears things up a little bit.
 
The Hermes Sandals are still in the game from the 1.0 CE as well as the Arm guards, so yes all of the 1.0 CE items are still in ARR, you will get them if you had them in 1.0.
 
Hmm.. I had the 1.0 CE but I don't recall the Hermes Sandals or Arm Guards, honestly. The only item I think I had was an Earring or maybe it was a Ring or Necklace. I honestly don't remember having anything else though, aside from the pre-order Onion Helm. Also my 1.0 character didn't appear to have these items when I checked him out during P3.
 
each item only came depending on where you ordered it from, Besides the onion helm. I got the Hermes Sandals and hit up ebay for the other codes

IIRC, armguards came with FFXIII. Hermes Sandals were if you had a FFXI account on the SE account you registered XIV with.
 
Myself, halif, and mistra will be on leviathan server. We already have a guild set up to go that consist of 20-30 players or so from the days I lead guilds in Rift/FF11/Wow. If anyone is interested in running with us, drop a PM here.

Hey all!

Long time no see! I wanted to drop by and say hello to the community and to also get a general idea of who is going where. I moved my Legacy character on Hyperion. If you need help with anything or want to party and Hyperion is your 2.0 home, my character name is Ayira Ebele :)
