Your CPU fan -.-

I was sleeping. Peacefully I might add... when I begin to stir.
So I was sitting there, in bed, in a half dazed state.:coco:
I was not awake.
Nor was I asleep.:16suspect1:

Then the realization strikes me.

My computa is grinding on the CPU fan. Err rather - My CPU fan grinding itself. :nono:

Now I was fully awake and after yelling :badwords: obviously edited out for content, the back switch on my computer was flipped and my week in FFXI has been suspended... Atleast on my desktop. I might get on my friends laptop - so yea...

Wonderful week I'd say and it has only just begun ;_; :rtfm:

At least you have a pentium and not an AMD.

How do I know you ask?

Because you didn't die in the fire.

http://www.wimp.com/cpu/

lmao, now I can point out why I don't trust AMD's at all

it is an AMD:nono:

1st off, those pentium boards probably had a hardware temp gauge that cut out power before the fire started. It was most likely the fact that those AMD boards didn't have such a failsafe. You'd hafta be dumb to believe fanboy stuff like that. Don't hate a company based on something as silly as what happens if you're stupid enough to take off the heatsink and fan. I bet my old pentiums would fry up just as fast if I turned the safety off.

2nd off, sucks to be your pc.

You ever accidently fall asleep and then dream that your awake in the same EXACT spot as if you had never fallen asleep...yet....you cant talk or move. You can only see. Since you didnt mean to fall asleep and your probably in a situation where you HAVE to be awake, you start freaking out cause you think your awake but the rest of your body is asleep and you cant move at all....then you start to have a panic attack.

It took me many times to learn to just chill and close my eyes to go back to sleep and wake up naturally when this happens. Anything like this ever happen to anyone else?

And sucks for your PC btw Arc :(

Well AMD can only handle one thing at a time great...where intel are good for many things at once. I can run 2-3 games on my intel setup fine where as my friend starts to get lag just by surfing the net while playing one game. I'll never buy into the AMD hype..............Can't wait til intel has a 3.8 dual core out.

I have yet to try a Intel Pentium processor, I've built my custom PCs w/AMD processors, mine uses an AMD 64 3500+. I do agree for multitasking they lag, but there is where dual core chips come in and.... OH LOOK... Intel is looking at bringing us quad core chips O_O

Onry because one of their chips can't keep up with one pentium. So instead of them making their chip more suited for multi tasking they say "lets just put 4 chips together" I wonder what the cost on that baby is going to be.

You know, that sounds an awful like some sleep disorder I have heard of - only you really are awake, you just can't move anything!

That picture is of an Intel design, not AMD...

BTW I've never had this problem with my AMD systems and as a computer engineering student, the design is a lot more advanced in the AMD processor. Multitasking really becomes a problem when your memory isn't up to par.

I'm at work now & am in fear of losing my job. HR was already going to terminate me, my mgr saved me. Reason is I've missed too many days of work recently for the same issue you seem to have. I wake up, sit up in bed, wake up at 2-3pm, sit up in bed, wonder..."Didn't I wake up already? When did I go back to sleep?" I have 3 alarm clocks, my cellphone which is surprisingly loud (does the best job of all the alarms), a radio alarm, and the standard annoying beep-beep-beep. I've positioned all the alarms at strategic points around my apt to force myself to get up out of bed in order to shut them off, but still it's happened.

Sleep paralysis
People with sleep paralysis are not able to move their body or limbs either when falling asleep or waking up. Brief episodes of partial or complete skeletal muscle paralysis can occur during sleep paralysis. Sometimes sleep paralysis runs in families, but the cause of sleep paralysis is not known. This disorder is not harmful, but people experiencing sleep paralysis often are fearful because they do not know what is happening. An episode of sleep paralysis often is terminated by sound or touch. Within minutes, the person with sleep paralysis is able to move again. It may occur only once in your lifetime or can be a recurrent phenomenon.
