Well, I never did think I would be posting a new topic on a flame board, im not one to make enemies, but rather, make lots of friends instead, tonight, I got into an exp party with my samurai, level 42 ish party.
We go to warp to altep do to oasis goblins, and our white mage doesnt have the scroll, ok np, i've warped parties before and just changed in rabao, i dont have much time tonight, so I wanted to get some exp in before I needed to get going.
So I warp us, and it turns out the whm didnt have the altep crystal either, which is bad =\
so...the pt elected to have him warp to dem, choco to bastok since he is rank 3, walk through korroloka, and bam we party maybe 30-45 minutes later.

In the mean time, im getting a little irritated already, because of having a not so good day, repairing my brand new car doesnt always make a man happy, but I try and keep a good mood anyways, so I decide, maybe I should log off, and just go get what i needed to get done a little early, couldnt hurt, since it seemed i would have wasted 45 minutes anyways waiting on the whm.

After relunctantly deciding thus, because I never in fact ditch a party, and never in fact insult other players by doing so, a Plvl comes along to 'heal us until the whm gets here'...
Now, i here's where I must look like a complete asshole in front of the party, here I am wanting to go, when we have a plvl magically appear, but, I shake my head and proceed with what I need to do, and death warp to jeuno to log off,
I get a tell from the parties monk
"Wtf, why would you just leave us all here?!"
Mistra>> "Hey man, I apologize, it's a no offense thing really, just needed to go, didnt want to waste time."
Solodon>>" Wtf that is like the most noobish thing you can do."
Mistra>> "Call me a noob again, do it. it's cool"
Solodon>> "Well sorry i dont care what level you have, doing shit like that warrants you as a noob"
Mistra>> "Why the fuck are you starting shit, I have told you it is a no offense thing to you, get off it."
Solodon>> "Whatever, you need to learn how to treat other players with respect, blacklist, you can have this."
... *insert extremely irritated mood here*

Anyone that knows me would call me helpful, and extremely friendly, I only get mad if you really piss me off, this didnt truly get me angry, just a little questionable as to reasons behind people getting so pissed off about real life obligations, obviously, i have not shared them here, as they are some what personal, therefore, I didnt share them in game.

I dont know if I was just having a bad day, and being an ass, or if this dude was randomly being an ass, but seriously =\ when does one just need to sit down and stop after the day goes sour? =(

Solodon, It would be wise to not start shit with good people, there's no reason for it, I have never used my 'level' of my character to judge other people, because it's fawking stupid to do so. So dont try and flame me for that crap, learn to just stfu and understand when people have other obligations.

I can tell you, Mistra isn't your average noob... If you could rank noobs on a scale of 1 to 10... Mistra is easily an 11. Please, if you can't already catch my sarcasm, read the following statements and bathe in it.

1.) I mean, it isn't like he is an ass to anyone. Takes a lot to piss him off - really, it does.
2.) He decided to take care of RL over a fucking MMORPG (obviously a big noob mistake cause FFXI > RL. I though everyone knew that)
3.) He is among the most selfless people I know. Personally, the characters I owe the most to... are Mistra and Reality. Reality helped me on 3/5 pieces of my AF, and Genkeis. Mistra has gotten me to level my white mage to useful end game levels. Without those 2 people, I don't think I would be a 70+ whm.
4.) He has always encouraged me when I've been down on this game - cause face it - it sucks balls at times.

5.) Now maybe I didn't get the whole conversation, but if I know Mistra well enough, I'm fairly sure he wouldn't send you any further tells after where he cut off here. Nowhere in there did I see him challenge your character with a demeaning "STFU Noob," "My gear > yours," or "I have 4x60+ jobs, I know what I'm doing."

No, he simply said "I don't want to waste time." He made up his mind and stuck with it. That is much more than I can say for many people in the real world... let alone an MMORPG where you could care less if people like you or not. If you need a new party member... get one. They aren't THAT hard to find...

If you, Solodon, wanted to get mad at the correct person, it should have been the gimp whm. I could possibly understand not having the teleport... but missing the crystal??!?! That is just not right. I would be more prone to sympathize with people that wanted to leave, than bitch them out.

Actually, I didn't get my teleport-Altep crystal until I was around that level, so I'm not that surprised that he didn't have it already. I had never had a reason to go to eastern altepa desert before and subsequently I didn't have a map so I had no idea where to go. That doesn't excuse the monk's attitude though.

Leaving a party that is at camp without finding a replacement first, or at least giving a 10 minute warning is rude.

I don't doubt you are a nice guy and all, but because you left to keep from wasting 45 minutes of your time, you wasted every bit of time you and everyone else in the party had already spent to get to camp and set up.

Pet peev of mine. If your gonna leave, let me know ahead of time so I can at least try and get someone on the way.
 
That's the thing, we were not at a camp, and the paladin beforehand said himself he didnt have much time, so I offered to warp people around if need be before I left, having the impression that he would have to go too, in fact he had asked for a teleport - dem until the random PL showed up, and by that time, i had made up my mind, he then said he wanted to stay.
They all knew by then that i was leaving, give it a 5 minute warning for say.

Yes I understand that a replacement should have been found, and perhaps more time should have been given before I went, but like the post said, perhaps today was just a bad day for me.
 
PL for lvl 40+ xp party? oi.. disaster waiting to happen lol Anyways, not your fault Mistra, you had said you wanted to leave before the pl showed up so the mnk shouldn't have gotten so unnerved.
 
Yes this mnk argument has no grounds at all. Mistra yo know your my boy and i respect you more then just about anyone. Personally i find it more nobel that you actually left when the PL came wrather then leave when he did. That kinda proves you arnt BSin about the RL stuff. So really this mnk needs to get punched in the mouth. How many people can honastly back out of a PT when a PL comes to save it?

refer to him as Solodon, or Solodon the dick, if u have to. but your ruining the good name of mnk ppl :P but ya....that guy had an aweful attitude about the whole ordeal, ppl like that shouldnt be alowed to be mnk's -.- i would have been annoyed by the situation too =/
 
Ok so Mistra bloddports back to jeuno and logs off...Now did you tell them that's what you were doing or did you just do it like I believe that you did. Personally I would be pissed too. I hate it when people do dumb shit like that and ruin the party for eveyone else. I'd say that there is more to the story but you'll never rhear it and Solodon is going to be tarred and feathered just because someone helped you get to your high level..woopidy fucking doo.

It should be enough to give someone the benefit of the doubt if they say "RL issues" and actually log off the game... Stop making it a witch hunt - this flame is about some asshole not understanding enough to think to himself, hey, Mistra might have a RL issue to take care of.

Iv known him for a while and he has never once lied to me or anyone i know of for that matter. Dont go throwin out bullshit when you have no idea what your talkin about.

Ok as I understood it you Death ported...then the MNK /tell you, then you told them that you had to go because of "RL issues". Ok to me that sounds dick, and I would be pissed to. How hard is it to just say,"Hey guys I got something that came up and gotta log." then just logged out right there? Your story has holes in it and I don't think that Solodon was in the wrong to be pissed.
 
Yeah...really you should read before posting.

Mistra already said that he gave 10 mins warning AND offered teles to anyone who needed it. They all refused and stayed with the PL.

Ok admittedly he didn't actually find a replacement before he deathwarped but i do not think that should count considering that they would have had to wait a good 30mins-1hour (no offense to the whm but on his/her first run i would expect him to get lost, hence the -1hour).

So yeah...i dont think mistra could have been much more polite and courtious if he tried to be honest, and frankly i do not blame him for prefering to get some RL ("Real Life" for those who do not know) stuff done instead of sitting around with his thumb up his ass waiting for the whm.

And i think the whm probably should have had the scroll and the crystal... not really a capital offense but it is a pretty useful spell.

Anyway...yeah Solodon the dick (there you go Excaliber :P) is an ass and you should just ignore him.
