I have heard that Macha's Coat is soloable due to the way Qiqirn Treasurehunters fight.

However, Wiki says that Salvage is a minimum of 6 people. Am I missing something?

Get 6 people to enter, fight them alone?

Assuming that it forces 6 people, you can have the other 5 force disconnect themselves and red dot while you enter the zone. If you do so, they don't lose their permits and they do not enter with you.

Yup, I've done this myself. You can solo both of the Astrologers and both of the Treasure Hunters. Can also solo the Bhoot and Soulflayer. All as RDM/NIN, of course. Its actually very easy.

Additionally, you can solo the Hikazu Kabuto as RDM/BLU.

Don't expect a drop any time soon, though. We're 1/84 on the coat, although 2/9 on the head. Each Treasure hunter have a roughly 2,5% drop chance, while the Astrologer have a roughly 5%, and Bhoot/Soulflayer 10%.

=( What is there to question? <.<; Don't make me bring up numbers!

Qiqirn Treasure Hunter: 1 drop | 84 killed = 1,2%
Qiqirn Astrologer : 2 drops | 58 killed = 3,4%
Deviant Bhoot : 1 drop | 17 killed = 5,9%
Psycheflayer : 2 drops | 9 killed = 22,2%

How are you supposed to solo those anyways, with everything locked?

you get cells from a chest at the begining, and you can kill a few mobs to unlock things you really need.

Oh, right, it's been so long since i've done salvage, I didn't do more than once since that chest at the beginning update.

Now which of those can a blm soro? D:

BLM will be able to solo the qqths np as well; since you'll get magic and SJ from starting chest ( BLM/WHM).

and the d/c trick doesn't work all the time, last time I helped pchan enter for soloing a qq, I found myselft inside the zone and lost the permit.

How about the astrologer? >.> My blm more interested in soloing that ;P

rdm can do astrologers easy withchainspell, there are tricks to make them loose hate with dots to.. but I think soloing a zone is a waste of AP. With 6 you could hit all NMs especially the 6 QQTHs

Astrologer can easily be soloed due to the way his hate works. His first priority is to run to casting range (run away). Second priority is to attack. He only run away if you're too close for his minimum castng range. Thus, you can pull him with Blizzard III, then cast Bio II and Poison II on him, then run away. This way, he will run to cast range and attack. This will make it so that he doesn't warp when he get to the teleporter, since he run to attack you, and not run to center.

So run out of his casting range when casting -ga's, and run in to nuke (or run to run down another corridor) when he's casting a T4 or AM. This naturally requires you to have /NIN sub.

Oh, and Tyrath, RDK/NIN can solo him just as easy as a RDM can, since you won't get hit by magic. Only problem is that you won't be able to solo 5F astrologer, which a RDM can solo.

to tell the true i see no point in soloing unless you already have linkshell or/and the 15 drop from the nm and 25 armor drop from the boss

Could read this.

I'm not sure I could find 5 people who would be willing to drop everything and come d/c for me. Maybe a few friends who were LFG, but i dunno.

I may just do this.

Not to mention that by the time you'd actually get a Macha's coat (1/70 for us),

the Soulfalyers would have dropped 1-2 macha's crown, the chariot 4 of either Usukane pants Marduk hands and Skadi feets and the QQA 1 ares body !
