Soloing Macha's Coat

Whoever soloes the treasure hunter is superhuman, Willian tried to solo it and couldn't keep up, bio would wear off and he would auto-regen to 100%.

What we ended up doing was me waiting on one end and Will on the other. He would bio II and poison II, and it would run to me. I would shock+choke+burn, and it would run back to Will. Took about 15 minutes to kill I think.

However, when it died it was yellow so we didn't get any drops. Next time i'll have to make sure it's red.

Edit: Thank you, Escape, Partygirl, and Ballmug for helping us get in!

There is a way to have it come back before it reaches the other end. Open with poison, stay in a corner of the tele room that is close to the big room whith ghost and he will come back to you.

as Pchan said, if you're gonna hunt it down, you need w. legs. Its way easier to cast Bio and Poison II on it, then run to the corner furthest away from it in the tele room. This will cause the TH to run back to you.

He only keep running in the same direction if someone with hate is within X range of him. So hunting him down will cause him to keep running.

I have W legs, but the first chest didn't drop leg cells :(

nope, it can pose some problems then :P

Anyway, just don't follow him and run to the corner furthest away from him. Makes him easy to solo. Remember to invis though.

Is the psycheflayer soloable by RDM? Or duoable by RDM/NIN and BLM?

Gravity > bio then run very far it will lose aggro and move back slowly. If it binds you you are dead, i suggest /whm :D

He don't cast Bindga, so /NIN works just as well :P

And yes, he is soloable by RDM/NIN.

I wouldn't think so. I'd think that Erase (WHM) and BRD Dispel would be minimum requirements. The longer that fight goes, the more chance it has to get out of control. Those flayers have some unfriendly moves.

both the Soulflayer and Bhoot can be soloed. I've personally soloed QQA, QQTH and Bhoot. While I haven't personally tried soloing the Soulflayer (I have my crown, no need to), I'd believe its very much possible, as he have less HP then the Bhoot. You don't straight-up melee him, you DoT him to death. Which takes no more then 10-20 min (don't remember exacly what my Bhoot estimates were). You don't need to Dispel him, as you won't be meleeing, and thus Ice Spikes is no problem. He don't have Stoneskin, only Magic Shield, which can be avoided by only casting Poison II. While your kill time will be lower due to the lack of Bio, you can still kill him within 100 minutes. I'm rather sure you could keep Bio II on him without any problem, though. Besides, I'm not 100% sure, but I do believe DoT goes through Magic Shield.

And as I stated earlier, Bind is no problem. You can Gravity him, and then simply run out of range to lose hate. He'll stop to cast spells on you, which only gives you more time to lose hate. And he don't cast Bindga, only Bind, so utsusemi will eat it.

are there different types of magic shield?

spiritual incense doesn't allow enfeebles though including not sure about dispel

the magic pot version doesn't as well, affects accumulated before it is used are still active, but once activated no new debuffs can be added or enfeebs until it wears

Its not actually Magic Shield. Its the same kind of Magic Shield a PLD's Rampart gives. A magical "Stoneskin" effect that only absorbs magical attacks.

That's why BLM's are seen to do reduced damage (or 0 if its still on), rather then complete resists.
