Don't get your hopes too high
I have 2 friends that were hacked Christmas eve on siren, Angelfang and Angelsword, Fang was locked out because the pass had obviously been changed. I logged in when he contacted me and saw that both the chars were logged in and working the AH selling their gear as we found out from FFAH. I immediately contacted a GM but got absolutely no assistance, "they will need to phone the call centre" was all he could help with, hmm difficult when it wasn't open for the next 2 days! If the GM had merely questioned the hacker at this time I firmly believe that he would have logged and dropped the char, saving Fang a great deal of gil and heartache loosing all the gear he worked so hard to get.
When the centre did open, Fang called them (4 times) and being in the UK they asked for his POL id from the install disks (far as I am aware the only reliable way to verify ownership). Eventually on the 31st his char was reinstated and he had access. All his good gear was gone but they had not taken all the gil they had been making from fishing so he spent about 450k on some half decent gear. All peachy so far.
9th January Fangs' account was banned for bot fishing even though this was during the peiod they were aware he was hacked.
The call centre flat refuse to deal with bannings under these or any circumstances the GM I spoke to quoted "I can only help with in-game problems". They both suggested that Fang contact the Special Task Force through his viewer!!! How, if you cannot log in?
I have sent a mail to the STF but in fairness I can't see anything good coming of it.
As I am a noob on the board this post will take a while to appear, when I have been validated I will post Sreenshots of the various convos with the GMs.
The whole situation is totally unacceptable, the support from SE throughout this whole debacle has been poor to disgusting and I am seriously considering quiting the game so that it is me who ends the story not some thieving bastard RMT or the piss poor support team at SE.
