Totally agree with this i remember doing JoL with BoL and first kill he gets Novia earring then second JoL the lootwhore gets Novio earring. He always seemed to put himself first no matter what it is salvage,sea,pretty much everything but sky because he alrdy whored it up. People openly complained about drops but the problem never or will never be fixed because no one leaves or does anything about it.

I currently own that novia. In fact if anyone in BoL is a loot whore its me...in the last year ive gotten 4/5 homans and 3/4 JoL drops(no blm for novio)...hanz held on to it cause we got tired of seeing our gear leave as soon as people got it...no one in the top tier of sea points really wanted it, so he held it till we had a chance to discus what to do with it.
 
not to mention countless sky drops I have also gotten on top of sea/limbus/dynamis drops. I am also the only one to get something from both KBs we killed this year(I know KB isnt much but we dont camp hnms so its a big deal when we claim a king).

The fact is that when we killed JoL hanz had a HUGE lead in the overall sea points and was entitled to whatever drop he wanted.

Thanks a bunch for taking the time to read the posts in this reasonable short thread before posting(see post 23)....yes I made a mistake should be 8%...When i did the math I misread how I worded it giving the flame board WAY to much credit for good content.

I dunno, I think such actions help with the derailing, I think right now a "BoL [does/doesn't] Suck" thread would be appropriate for example, so the original topic could continue. Not saying every tangent needs a new thread, but once too distracting to OP, I'd say it'd be a good thing to do.

I think his original post is worthy of a topic, he may of not presented and/or backed his case well, but the content was full of merit. I'm honestly sick of "in before...", and general mindless repeating of the same things that usually were barely worth a smile or chuckle the first time seeing them, also he makes an interesting point, why do "230 post about this stupid small deal affecting like 8 people!?!?!" Not that it's bad, we all do it, throw in our 2 cents to an issue not involving us (this very post is an example), but it's an interesting observation.
 
I'll say this much Small is right that Hanzokoro isn't the type to pass gear, but he's actually a pretty stand guy.

Yeah i remember now you got a Love torque/Novia/Love Halberd first JoL how could i forget. Maybe your just as bad as Hanz,but did you think that maybe that was some of the reasons why ppl leave once they get there gear? They wait so damn long that there tired of gear given to the same 6-7 ppl Cyc,Cal,Slick,Asty,Hanz,Clev and yourself. I was only in BoL for like 2 weeks and by no means did i earn anything let alone want but, seeing people cry about gear all day in the shell gets pretty old fast.

I agree most people hate BoL as much if not more than epic, but what has BoL done in say the last 6 months to a year to earn that hate...Epic is mostly BoL rejects that people hate.

Simple meaning: To the server, they created their image years ago, before you were in it, before I was in it. BoL could go 6 months being a high-tier endgame LS and the rest of the server will think the same of them. There's no turning back.

A lot of people that the server or qcdn hates, have gone through BoL. I can name a lot of them. It also seems BoL harvest them.
 
One point I would like to make, is that rate downs on a recruitment thread seems rather silly. The act of recruitment isn't "evil", so to speak.

I might also stress that this statement was made by somebody who almost got MPKed for no good reason by the swine of BoL before, I hold sufficient disgust towards the members of this excuse of a linkshell, so this is in no way, shape, or form, a "friend" defense. The point I am making here is that there's no point in rating down posts on a recruitment thread. If anyone's foolish enough to sign up, that's their problem.

Another point...the OP needs to understand that the reputation of his linkshell is generally a rather bad one. It's meaningless to try to defend something that's been verified countless times, and essentially set in stone. I've been involved with shady linkshells without knowing in the past, myself. Upon learning of the true natures of said linkshells, I ditched them, not being the type to condone that behavior.

If you so adamantly stand by the linkshell, and refuse to see it for what it is, I'm afraid you have little right to complain about people's opinion of you, or your shell.

Well since I didn't get the Novia till like 3 weeks later, so how could you remember?(He says it like its the most infamous moment in his life lol)
But lets also look at where all those sea pops came from in BoL. There where 8 of us (cyc, hanz,wulf, sosa, clev, cal, asty, and myself) that had gobs and gobs more sea point than anyone else in BoL, at one point we all had around 250-300 and most people where under 100.

Did we cheat? No, We where the people who farmed all the pops for that JoL and all the pops it took to get to him. We got the gear in sea cause most other people didnt wana show up to sea till after we started to get drops.

Sea tull(pun) the points go to the people who farm in there spare time, farm when the LS schedules farming, and show up for pops. Most people in BoL only wanted to do the third one in that set. Its not that we are all these big gear whores, but wtf I should go farm pops so you can get drops!?!?!

I don't know how other LSs out there do it but BoL gives more points for farming than for popping, its not like this is a secret inside the LS either.(The one exception to this is JoL, we give out a lot of extra points since it takes so much time and so many people(yes I understand you might not need 30 people to kill JoL but BoL does))

Oh but I do! Can't I try to change the image of my LS? I mean its not like I can change LSs anymore, whos going to take me, the guy from BoL. Dont get me wrong I'm sure I could find a social shell or a crappy sky shell but I want a good shell, a shell that gets shit done, I also don't wanna have to hold 381 different shells, one for each activity that I do, and if I'm going to be in a LS that camps HNMs I want to be able to claim/kill kings. I also don't speak Japanese.

That leaves me with what, Integral, JDA, Kaizen, and Perseverance? Clearly my choices are rather limited. So it seems my best bet it to do what I can to turn around the image of BoL.

Flag, just when I think the little common sense you must have has been activated, and you leave this thread(trumpets sound(you know do dodo do)) you show back up with one of your meaningless, pointless, 7 word posts(Um is more of a sound than a word).

Is that how your endgame shell works? 8 people do all the farming and everyone else just gets drops for showing up to pops? Really? If thats the case you farmers should all really look at joining BoL we reward the farmers not the lazy people. Not that I'm saying just cause you don't farm, you are lazy and should never get gear(well I am but ignore that for a second) but WTF I should go spend hours upon hours popping things like Ix'mn and farming chips, and these other people should just basically show up to get drops!?!?! I guess I am in the wrong shell in that case...geez I would love to be able to just go off and do other things in game and just have all my gear almost waiting for me, maybe you could send me a /tell when the mob is at like 5% I mean I want a mars ring but god knows I don't need to be there for the whole fight, I just want the drop.

You are the reason why people quit FFXI. They fucking hate business-only fags who are only into it for their own selfish wants and desires. You only farm because you want shit. I farmed sky stuff countless times because it went to the shell. I only got two drops in sky, and I am just fine with that. Wanna know why? Because I'm not a selfish prick like you who doesn't realise that seeing someone else who worked toward the same goal get what they want is a great experience. When the MNK in my sky shell got his haidate before me, I was genuinely happy for him. Why? Because he's a good guy, and despite a few kinks he's a decent player.

I didn't realise people couldn't think of their LS as friends anymore, but I guess I was wrong. Welcome to the future, and the future is not good.

Only farm for myself? I'm done with sea and sky but I'm still up in one or the other 4 days a week helping other people get gear. Heck I go up and trio in sky with people so that our LS has the pops we need to get people gear.

I just get my drops first, I fail to see the problem with that when I put substantially more work in to getting something than player B, why should he get the drop first while I wait? Plus its not like I never wait, I would like A hands for my whm(well not now but up until fri. night I did) but I have passed them to our blms countless times.

Why you ask? Because I understand that its better for the LS as a whole for the BLM to have them over me, just like normally, its better for me to have the gear over the other guy who doesn't farm or show up to many pops. I would like to see that guy get gear too but guess what, gearing him up isn't
going to help the LS as a whole if he never shows up.

You have to understand there is more than one right way to do some things. You want to see everyone get gear at the same rate. I want to see people get gear that show up to events, so we can get faster and better at getting the drops for other people.

I once had someone say to me in response to me saying I had worked hard for and item "work? This game shouldn't be work it should be fun."

For me, if I don't work for the gear I get, this game isn't fun. See flag your one of those guys who if he could, would just put a ??? in all the main citys, and every time you click it you get an item of your choice. You don't wanna work for your gear, you do it because you have to. I do it because without the work the gear means nothing.
