Well this has happened alot in parties where a rdm is focusing on other things. except for refreshing. Refreshing is more important then using dia on a mob ; ; and when you keep asking for a refresh when they never give it to you. they always bitch or complain so can you rdm's that forget your job to refresh the whm. this is just a reminder... becuz i know some ppl that have to make macro's for refresh plz especially plds..

there's an easy solution, form a static, no doubt the rdm will be elvaan AND probably terrible to start and then you MOULD them into a refreshing machine.. you do this by squeezing the life out of their eyes and making them die inside... they did it for a job that had a bit of everything but make them see they turning into macro bots like the whms.

Play the job, know the job, and then understand the job. WHM comes 3rd on the refresh list. If you never get it at all, that is one thing, but if you have to wait for a few seconds while things get oriented, it wont kill you.
If a RDM just sucks that is one thing, but never make the declaration that Refresh is more important than anything else. There is a reason RDM are given the best enfeebling skill in the game. Refresh is a great spell, but don't assume that post 41 that is a primary function, it is just a bonus to all the other abilities.

OMG i did this, and yes my RDM IS an elvaan, and yes he did suck back at level 40 (or less??), but i have molded him in my image SO much that he has the same model face i do :shock: i tried squezing the life out of him, but the sonumabitch is so lucky he NEVER dies, but he has been thoroughly schooled in the art of macro-writing.

;I gotta agree with everyone else on this Batash. Rdm isnt just for Refresh, but atleast when they do get to that part of the job you are near the top of the list. My poor Drk ass sees it every 2 or 3 fights, if I am lucky. But let me not have enough MP for Absorb-Mnd and I am getting screamed at by the Rdm to "Learn MP conservation". Bastard. I hate the simple fact that one of my favorite job classes to prty with also tends to have a natural dislike for my job.
I hate all the bad rdms giving rdms a bad name >.> I dont know if im a good rdm or a bad one but I try my hardest ><

next is that silence is alot more a terrible thing than not having that MP refresh. If for any reason a mage runs out of MP at a time when they need alot, then something aint right, probably the puller pulled to soon. Silence on the other hand is potentially deadly to everyone and anyone at anytime of the fight and no amount of preparedness (outside silena and echo drops) will help.

NEVER... i mean,god aedin, you posted a flame thread on me and you expect me not to be bitter about it? i admitted you became and excellent rdm by the end, did i not? or did you just fail to read that far into it... as per normal... my "overnuking" wasn't actually that bad even from an ubiased standpoint... ask seig, he knows he had so tank issues at the begining and at the end i rarely pulled aggro except when mara's SATA misfired... which in itself was rare.

and pascal, yes, the majority of us NA players are... we just don't take the party seriously enough... i was in a pt where the Sam used icarus wings and shogun rice balls... they used more in items that party than my armor was worth i'm sure... and unless you wanna spring for vampire juice nothing is quite as nice as refresh... most notably i had problems with this in my post-static times with crabs... Crabs take a lot of mp to kill and the melees have real issues with them... if the blm doesn't get refresh (normally bottom of the refresh chain) and whm doesn't (varies on mp, tanking type and how far into the chain you are) then A) the mob isn't dieing any time soon but B) the party is...
Being elvaan has nothing to do with being a bad rdm, they just seem to go hand in hand a lot because there is a BIG trend of elvaan rdms (emphasis on big)... their mp, limited even more than hume or mith as it is, is DEVASTATED with the cost of keeping a high-casting party going...
Chpal is still the #1 rdm i partied with... along with Vair... the man who uses no swords... yay chpal!

I offer you a challenge, put something in your search comment to the effect of i don't refresh others.... See how many invites you have... Nobody picks up rdm for your melee damage... face it, if they wanted a melee DD they'da picked up a war/nin or a MONK (WOOOT!!!! MONKS OWN) Stand back, put the AF1 down, whip out a club with massive int boost or a staff of the spell's element and cast... i accept crimson blade very cautiously, but it isn't as good as the elemental stave OR the 7 or so int you could be getting with the int/mnd boost series club at that point. they clubs ar cheap, there is no excuse to cast black magics on int +5 when you could hav int +7. none. you expect good blms to carry a staff for each element. i expect a good rdm to have int... a lot of comprimising occurs... i only have 3 right now but i'm working on that.
And a note to my last party's rdm... no names here... YOU BONEHEADED NUMBSKULL.... the Dark Knight is LAST on ANY and ALL refresh orders... I AM NOT AFTER A BLOODY FREAKING USELESS NEVER-HIT-TWICE-IN-A-ROW Drk when i'm battling crabs... his int was like 4... using his mp use was a waste... the crab resisted his spells.
My true solace was found at 55 with bards who have AOE refresh... With 2 ballads up it equals refresh and never have to worry about an order... Where are all the bards?

well im not really saying rdm's are only for refresh but i am saying that it helps the pt alot and it just gets annoying when they never cast it and you always have to tell them... rdm are awesome not trying to give them a bad name or anything just trying to tell them not to always get angry when your pt tells you to refresh when you forget..
