I don't know if anyone remembers me but I was Tokash from Serapis (formerly SereneEternity) and most recently Noizy Tribe before I was hacked.

I would obviously start out from scratch since I have no character to reactivate so does anyone think it would be worth it to start a new character? It's been about 2 years since I quit and I'm feelin the itch again

Do you still touch yourself at night?

If you want to start over again I need to say that you will need to do a lot of stuff but at least if you manage to get a Lv.90 Job pretty much from old school will be able to be soloed...

Game is a lot more casual-friendly these days, though still not on the level of some.

You know, I stopped playing these games back in December, as I recall. I'll admit, I often want to come back to them, to hang out with all the cool people I met, etc. But there are a few things that keep me from coming back. Maybe they'll help you decide as well.

The biggest thing for me is the time investment. Even an hour is precious for me these days, and these games require much more time than just an hour if you want to get anything done. I don't know what sort of player you are, or how much self control you have, but consider how much time you'd be investing into something that ultimately is rather inconsequential, other than letting you have some fun now and then (is it fun for you?) and letting you chat with people who you could just as easily chat with over a different medium.

The second thing is hinted at above, which is that the things you do in the game really have little impact in what we've all come to call real life. Since I stopped playing these games, I started reading again, seeing friends more often, working more on creating maps for games, working out, meeting new people, all that good stuff. If I started playing again I know a good deal of that would be lost to me again.

The bottom line for me is that playing MMORPGs is like leading a second life. This results in my actual life not getting the attention it needs because I'm busy working on the second one, or otherwise thinking about working on it. It's for this reason that I keep away, despite how much I'd like to come back.

Starting a new character from scratch will be only a minor PITA. That said I'm sure you can do it. I think you still have friends in NT. I mentioned this post in the LS as I was reading it and there were a few people who were on at the time that do remember you. I have recently come back myself and am still getting to know everyone.

As you may know Abyssea is all the rage right now. With the right set of friends or linkshell you can AFK from 30-90 in just a few days. Genki may still be a pain in the arse but are only minor hickups. Experience gain is double in most, if not all, areas outside of abyssea. Level your subs (to 49) and your friends or LS will help you get your main levels. I know NT is currently doing a couple cleaves a week for empy weapons and always welcome KI holders. Within a month, if you have some old friends that can give you some coin, you can have a level 90 and start backtracking all of your old content again. Soon the level cap will be 95 and not too long after that 99.

See new billing requirements, thats enough to make just about anyone turned off. Most people arn't even aware they have a month to comply or be deactivated, and the options are pretty crappy. they are taking away credit card billing option.
1. use SE's crysta system that is like PSN points and they will not let you buy exact amount you need so you'll always be buying extra. (not automatic btw, you'd have to remember to do this monthly before next billing)
2. Even though paypal is far superior in comparison SE went with "click and buy" which is faulty. depending on where you live you get hit with extra fees. Even bigger insult that Japan is able to keep credit card/automatic billing but the rest of the world can't. it's a mess. So for anyone thinking of starting up again, be warned of the steps involved come Aug 31st.

/shrug, when I looked it up, it said credit/debit was still an option with the SE accounts, just that it had to be that whole "verified account" thingie that they added a few years back.

Not sure about that. I heard it can stay that way until you need to change your card. Once you do you can't go back to that method (like if your card expires and you need to change the dates) Mines verified by visa, all ready registered with c&b didn't change it and made purchases with that system and it still didn't work. People asked on the offical forum about the issue and they didn't answer us and closed the thread.
