Well here's the thing, there are so many people againt the FB apparently. Those people are speaking out. But in those posts they are speaking out in they usually end up Flaming Peregrine, and the mods aren't doing anything about it.

I just don't understand why you would speak out in the top of the post, then flame at the bottom.

PersonA: (insert argument here)
PersonB: (insert counter argument here)
Peregrine: (Insert well phrased responce targeting either person A or person B, but with obvious intent to degrade the target)
PersonA&B: (Insert variation on a flame at peregrine here)

Exactly. And the mods do nothing to stop this. So whats the point of saying no personal attacks when it happens in every thread!

Pere stirs up flames and attitudes wherever he goes, he's just really good at phraseing his words so as not to attract admin attention. But those he targets and enrages arent so skilled at it.

But neither PEre nor the targets are modded, they are basically left free on the rampage

Have you reported them?

Diplomacy is telling someone to kiss your ass with a smile, and getting a smile in return.. So get used to people doing degrading posts without ever really making a direct insult because it's never gonna stop. :/

actualy no, thats debate.
Diplomacy is getting what you want while letting the other guy think he won.

What peregrine is doing is called Entrapment (not the movie, the legal term.)

Debate would be an arguement.. winning would be something entirely different... my point was you act in the rules yet break them at the same time and the majority just breeze by it..

In terms of them being reported, if the admin/mods were actually paying attention(or cared) and were doing their job on the board then no one would have to report a person. I know its hard to do, I've ran a board before. Still the fact remains the admin/mods are not doing anything when they should.

You can't be everywhere at once Tsu nor can you see all... There aren't as many mods as there are the regular posters

it wont happen in end game discussion anyways. ive already warned about it. im sorry if you feel the other mods arent doing their job. which section of the board do you feel this is happening on a recoccuring basis?

I feel it's time for Kotsu's words of enlightenment. In the quote of the late, great Zap Branigan:

Rock beats Scissors, and Scissors beats paper... But paper beats rock!... Zif, we have a conundrum... Fetch me a rock, scissors, and some paper.

My point is rather than start a post bitching about what people are getting away with all you have to do is click one little icon to report it to a mod. As someone else said mod's can't be everywhere. This is OUR community...not just the mods' and or admin's.

This way, its brought to the attention of the admins, and everyone gets to see that they will act on information of this type, rather than just that specific person. If Sculli does take action as a result from this post, everyone will know better what type of posts to report. Alternatively, if he takes no action, people will now have another benchmark to taylor thier posts to follow.

Just to let you know what happens when a post gets reported:
A thread is created in a "Reported Posts" forum.
The subject of the thread is "Reported Post in: [thread title here]". The thread starter is the user who reported the post.

It contains a link to the thread, it contains a link to the original post, and who posted it. It contains a full quote of the reported post (so that even if the OP changes the post, the reported post is still the original), and in contains the reason why it was reported by the one who reported it.

The mods for that specific forum and I can then take action on the reported posts. Often that action is to "delete" the post. The reason why delete is in quotes is that post are not really deleted. They are moved to a "Recycle Bin" forum where they are archived out of the public view.

That way a record of the post remains and if access restriction action against a user needs to be taken there is a reference as to why such action was required.

Of course this system depends on QCDN members using it responsibly. If the "Reported Post" forum is flooded with reports about stuff that's not worth reporting, then even an army of mods would have a hard time to look through it.

So, report if you feel that a post is in violating the QCDN Community Standards, then by all means, report it.

Please do understand that it is not practical to provide feedback to the reporter as to what action, if any, has been taken. Obviously you will see if the post is "deleted". If you feel that no action was taken, you are free to follow up with me. Please do include a suggestion as to what you think should be done if you do choose to PM me about it. Thanks.

The unfortunate part of this for someone looking to get me into trouble by pointing my words in the direction of a mod or admin...is that I probably have admin and mods all over me as it is. I am a "difficult" poster and won't deny that. It's always one me versus twenty others; which side do you think gets eagle eyed due to that? I encourage anyone to mark whatever I say if they have a problem with it, but it's not a far stretch to assume that I'm a bad example for arguing that posts going unmonitored. I have caused more grief, longer threads, largest refresh spams, lowest flames, and collected the single most chronic group of forum posters who can't wait to hate me than you've probably ever seen. I am being monitored like an arrhythmia.

It's important for you to tell the admin and mods your thoughts on posting behavior, but as far as I go, just pointing the posts out won't do you much good. There are indeed two dozen posters who have yet to adhere to the "don't flame outside the flameboard" who are not hawked. Marking them may yield more results than marking me. But again, mark me if you see a problem. I'm just not as easy as someone who openly calls someone pathetic on the GD board. I'm not going to lie. I was already told to cool it on the antagonism of the people who are ruffled that the FB and its style are gone. They're right. Not exactly appropriate at this time.

First NA to use a semicolon outside an emoticon, btw.

I can sorta agree with just about everything you said, except that. The semi-colon is used by many, myself included. :nyam:

I use them correctly all the time, myself... complex sentences FTW?
