Wii Sonic and the Black Knight - It, looks quite good...?

Something I might have a problem with, by just looking at the trailer, is that it looks like the game'll take itself way too seriously. Honestly, that was one of the biggest problems with 2k6 for me. Game looks fun, chances are I'll pick it up in order to give my Wii some delicious playtime (which it hasn't gotten since I finished World of Goo).
Also, what was wrong with Unleashed? :|

Day-time stages were perfect, Night-time stages were incredibly meh. There were far too many night-time stages for that matter too. It was a good game but not what was entirely hoped for. Unleashed was ok, average, run of the mill, however, that can also be seen as a good thing. The best thing that came about Unleashed though was that Sega FINALLY got the running stages done right.

They could probably get away with remaking the original sonic games using the hedgehog engine and release them as downloadable titles for PSN, XBLA or WiiWare without anyone complaining too much. In fact this is probably the best thing they could do!

Anyway back on subject, the tonal shift for Sonic storytelling has gotten a bit over dramatic lately (Even worse when they still used 4Kids Entertainment's VAs so much that even Yahtzee himself needed to change the language!) but hopefully they will get back to the formula that made previous Sonic games so great.

The storybook Sonic games have kind of helped slightly I suppose as they were a bit more light hearted than previous games where they had Sonic turn into a werehog or even outright murder Sonic. Sonic and the Black Knight could help things further along with the more lighthearted story telling as Sonic is teaming up with Merlin.. sorry, "Merlina" to fight with King Arthur, does that sound overly serious to you?

Like I said, the CG cutscene in the link makes it seem like they are trying to go for a serious tone.

Paraphrasing Lazlow from GTA3, Sonic and Arthurian tales, while being two great things seperately, just shouldn't be put together, like ice cream and pizza.

Sonic the Hedgehog and the Ocarina of Time?
