Sony PSP (Do you have it?)

I broke down and bought the Sony PSP and a copy of Untold Legends: Brotherhood of the Blade. I'm still figuring out all the buttons, but it seems like a pretty nifty handheld so far. There's more screen blur than I expected, but it's not bad.

Anyone else out there jump on the PSP bandwagon yet?

i got mine last thursday also. i love it. ridgeracers is awesome!

I bought the warranty plan at Best Buy. It cost me $35 i think. For up to two years I can return a PSP w/ dead pixels to Best Buy and get a brand new one.

I got one, I think it's a waste of money. Haven't touched it since the first day, after playing with it for about 30 mins.

To each his own I guess... I havent been able to put mine down... I'm sure someone would buy it off you though, maybe u can make a nice profit lol

-Ham

doubt a nice profit can be had. newspapers saying the auctions were for only 265-270. heck i didn't even have to pre-order to be able get one. stupid sony hype about not being able to get one.

Ya, I'm just sick of all this "its not selling out everywhere, so its a dead system" attitude. If it was sold out everywhere, people would be complaining about how Sony cant ship enough units (like when the ps2 launched) and since its not sold out people seem to see this as a failure...

Ya, there was a lot of hype, but not every system that is released gets sold out on the first day...

Ya I hate that too. Some people in my school who really like Nintendo, nintendo fanboys I guess, say that there are soo many PSPs in target and stuff. Yes, there are NOOOOOOOO DS ANYWHERE are there??

I just picked up my psp two days ago. Only got Metal Gear Ac!d yesterday. I have to say, MGA is fucking sweet.

I'm not buying one till the price goes down to something actaully resonable.
For $250 bucks Sony can kiss my @$$. I'm never paying that much for a freaking handheld system.

It's overpriced, I'll give you that. But it's sooooo pretty.

I picked up Wipeout Pure. Damn, it's nice. I don't normally go for racing games, but I like this one. My gaming budget is officially broken.

I took the PSP to the mall and was playing it in the food court. Three different people came up and asked if they could watch over my shoulder while I played. I was starting to feel like Cartman saying "I saw the Terrance and Phillip movie... who wants to touch me?"

for 250$ ur getting a lot of potential. Aye, Hal, the screen has some ghosting for Untold Legends, the game I have, but it doesnt seem as bad if at all on other game, like RR. But anyway, the screen is gorgeous, looking through the videos on the demo disc and music videos, i was amazed. But its already got the wireless abilities (i already registered mine on campus and connected to the network, lol) and can connect directly to other PSPs without an available internet connection. Sony is already releasing more first party movies, naruto is on the way, Sony said the PSP has the potential to be turned into a phone and on that note, the possibilities are endless......perhaps a portable video phone? I dunno, I was thiking if they developed a camera that could hook up through the usb port, perhaps its feasible. And if u wanna think of stuff like that, hell, think like XM radio, slam on an antenna of some sort and u have a TV....*shrugs* Oh, and like everyones doing with WOP, you can browse the web just like a normal computer, not just access email and chat. Endless possibilities. I think 250$ wasnt a horrible price.

I'm trying to do the freepsps.com thing, I just can't find anyone to complete and offer for me. ><;

I could care less if it was able to cook my breakfast.. If I buy something like that.. it's to play video games. If I want to watch a movie.. ill pop one in my dvd player and sit on the couch. The only time id actually watch a movie on the PSP would be in an Airplane or Airport while waiting for a flight. Considering I don't fly anywhere but once a year, if even that. That aspect is pretty useless. Waiting in an office somewhere, sure you can pull it out and start playing a game.. but you could do the same with a GameBoy Advance SP, or the DS for a fraction of the price. May not be the same games.. but it serves the same perpose and costs you way less.

If you've got the money to burn then I suppose it's no problem for someone like that. Though for a person who doesn't make so much money they can just drop 250 bucks on a portable gaming device and be on their merry way, this is something to be treated with delicate handling. I know if I have a handheld system chances are, if im using it often its going to be in my pockets a lot when im not using it, and if you've ever had a any handheld before the GB SP came out, you know that putting it in your pocket and walking around with it is going to get the screen scratched up.. eventually. Does it even have a cover to protect the screen from scratching??? From what ive seen of it, it doesn't appear to and for that price I would not be able to afford using it on the go in fear of simply getting the screen scratched up.

I mean my god.. you can buy a gamecube, and a PS2 (or X-Box) for the same price of this thing.

I'm sure the price will go down to $150 or even $125 by August or so, and maybe there will be better titles out there for it too by then. One can only hope. Though for the average gaming joe, this little hand held is one too expensive to be used.. as a handheld at it's current price tag. That's all im saying.

I thought the DS was a bit pricey for a handheld when I found out how much it was going for, but compared to the PSP I'd rather get me a DS first and save $100.
