Soon to be new server trans LS

I still don't see how it shows any disrespect, no one needs permission to start a linkshell, the fact they come from another server shouldn't be an issue, people should give them the chance to prove themselves, if they blow it, only -then- can everyone gang up on them.

This statement is pretty fair.

I also think that they are trying to recruit from the server... providing alot of people who arent able to get into Integ, Pers, Kaizen, Insurrection, HappyAngel, JDA, Vanquish shot at an endgame shell. Out of those shells the first 6 arent openly recruiting at all and the 7th probably isn't either.

Wanna know what's really funny you guys? The fact you think claim bots are the hax, when in fact they are the gimp unless the user has top speed internet.

Why?

ffxi botting 101

Mr wild rabbit, more commonly known as tehclaimbot, is a program that takes a preinserted ID of a monster, warps to its spawn point, and searches for the ID to appear, then runs your Ctrl1 macro, preferably /provoke <t> or whatever you wanna claim with.

here's the thing, the bot has to search manually for the id before it runs, and that ID only appears on the server about 2-3 seconds AFTER the mob has already popped.

Then it runs the macro. So if you're good, you can outclaim the bot pretty effectively. the only reason a claim bot is > then the average joe and is still used is the fact that a claim bot never afks, bio breaks, glances away from the screen.

thus the user gives up 3 seconds of reaction time, in return they get 100% vigilant watching of the spawn. All it takes is being as vigilant as the bot at the window, and you can outclaim it no problem.

That is why I actually am more against the use of fishbots than claim bots. And even then, I have so much fun with fish botters and telewhorebotters, having seen the script of the programs myself.

(Try /saying Your rod breaks! next to one, 90% chance they'll justs top casting =D)

I don't think you know anything about bots... The mob ID is actually ALWAYS on your comp, whether or not the mob is actually popped doesn't matter. That's how people can see the exact ToD of, say, Fafnir or Nidhogg, even if they weren't actually there. So obviously, you're either mistaken, don't know shit, or just make things up. Mob ID load in to your comp as you enter a zone,.

Also, in case you didn't know (which you obviously don't), a mob always have the same ID. That's what makes them unique. What a bot basically do (and what you can do yourself without a bot), is to make the <t> loaded in to your memory point to a specific mob ID, and thus, when you provoke, provoke said mob without having to touch it. Nowadays, most bots do ti automatically, but they still target specific mob-ID's, as they are always the same. So basically, they have a mob targeted before it even pops.

One of the reasons SE made it not possible to do "/ma Dia" etc. without a target after, was that you used to be able to manually insert a mob ID, such as "/ma Dia <mobID>", and thus still target specific mobs without the use of external programs.

Naturally bots can be beaten, as they are automated programs, and a lot of people do as they've had a lot of practice at it. Usually it requires good connection, and above all, a good computer. A bot doesn't really need either, but they still benefit from it. Thus why most people who bot chose to lower their graphical settings.

Also, SE sometimes change their mob ID's after updates. Those are the times when you used to see several people DC'ing at camps, who weren't expert botters and simply used one they downloaded or were provided by their shell.

That is interesting. Question though can someone still do this if they used scripts with that one program allow you to shortcut macros? Think it called spellcaster or something like that.

Iunno, I doubt it. From my understanding, Spellcaster just adds <t> to the command if no target is specified. Although I assume you could just force <t> to point to a specified mob-ID and get the same effect, but that wouldn't be due to spellcaster.

Anyway, I doubt they would release a Windower plug-in that could be used as an auto-target hack by simply specifying the mob-ID at the end of it.

WTF! This flame had such potential until those vile carebears stuck their noses into it!!

The only thing I can say that hasn't been said is this:

Quetz is a family. We have all the necessary parts that make up a good working dysfunctional family. We may not always agree, we may not always get along, but we do watch out for our family.

If/when you come to this server, you will not be completely welcome by all parts of this family. You will be watched, interrogated, and every action scrutinized until we are satisfied that you are acceptable. Even after all that, which could take months or years, you may still not be fully welcome.

Above all else, remember this... You fuck with us, we will bend you over a barrel and train your ass, no vaseline.

Peace,
Shmed

Oh! Btw Steak, are you from Philly, and possibly have a friend named Cheese?

You used to seem a lot nicer. o.O Did you get meaner or just less-shy? lol

There is a huge difference between coming to join a shell and start over, Finnh, for whatever reason and coming to start a shell. If they were just more server transfers i wouldn't have a problem really. But they want to come here and lead a shell which shows little to no respect for the people who are already on the server.

Didn't they already say they wanted to start their own shell here due to the fact that we don't have any EU timezone shells? How is starting a new shell, on a new or current server, a gesture of disrespect?

Saying starting a shell is disrespectful is just stupid imo. In that case most shells besides kaizen would be disrespectful.

Insurrection is a EU/NA. Majority of our events are scheduled during EU times.

Sorry I should have said, due to the fact they thought we didn't have any EU timezone shells here. I am assuming they were hoping for less competition than on other servers.

I am not fond of server transfers. I've had nothing but bad experiences with them. One even recieved gear some can only dream of, only to see him transfer almost immediately upon the 90 day mark. Funny thing is, he could have recieved much much more had he stuck around, but I guess he didn't like having to wait for anything more.

This is not entirely true. Please don't take offense to this, I don't know your situation and I am just making a general statement. All end game shells continually recruiting. The problem with end game is that they are in a constant state of turnover whether it be from members quitting end game, moving to other shells/servers, or quitting the game entirely, they will always need new members to replace those who have left. Primarily, the only points in time in which they will not recruit is when first starting out with a full roster or when they are at the end of their run. "We're not recruiting" is the equivalent of "I'm not looking for a relationship right now" line meant to spare the rejectee's feelings and avoid problems for the rejector.

In reality, if you're looking for a good end game shell, the best option is to check with friends. Tell them straight out you're interested and if they can do something for you. Good people with good intentions should never have trouble finding an end game shell. Server hopping should only be a last resort.

@Kero - Nothing to be sorry about. We have only been on server thus far. We aren't well known yet throughout general community of QC. We try to stay low key and be respectful to everyone. We know this isn't our original home, and we don't want to do anything that might damage our image.

EDIT: We have only been on this server 3 months thus far.

Long enough to keep you from taking the name Exiled I guess :crazyest:

Deli and Zeph transferred at the same time, so can I please direct you to here. Omg wow, They've been on the server almost 2 weeks :\

heh in that case tell dude that he needs to put his character name in his sig in qcdn and also how do you not know the name of your own member when you make a Linkshell with him lol...

He's my RL friend and he said it was Delirious. Maybe he's transferred his second character or something, I'm not entirely sure. Gonna ask him when I got back to work.

Can't believe the hassling going on over a character and ls name.

Would rather hear some interesting stories about Fate LS and Shiva server cause that thread on BG was pretty weak.

The more interesting question would be what would the original name and server of the character be seeing as no one on any server with the name delirious or delirium has this kind of gear.
