Since I was the one that told Soulstar to lot, I am the one who should respond. I am the largest proponent of my conviction which I will now explicate.
I'll outright declare it here first: I told Soulstar that Myrrh (and the others with him) was not to be trusted with future endeavors towards obtaining the YYR after having received his own first.
I have noticed the behaviors Myrrh exhibited in my LS that displayed characteristics of
gearwhoring.
One of the most prominent examples of this include a dispute that Myrrh had with another LS member whom is very trusted, Alianne. Alianne has been designated with officer status and endowed with a pearlsack. Those in officer status have authority to maintain control within the LS when problems break out. They are not to be freely exercise and abuse this power, and it has not.
There was already one occasion during which Alianne disclosed his dislike of Myrrh's boasting about the gear he owns. It happened once, and it happened another time.
Myrrh again did the same thing that he was made aware of that would disgruntle an officer. Though this particular issue was handled within the LS, it succeeded in exposing Myrrh's ego and coveting of virtual equipment.
Though Myrrh would continue cursing, speaking of vulgar topics, and exasperating some members within the LS beyond the boundaries set by the linkshell rules, I did not want to remove him. In the beginning of his time joining us, I was aware of the help he was giving out to other members. This, I felt, superceded his language that really hardly harmed anyone. That was something that did stand out to me, and was pleased with. However, I was becoming disappointed as I noticed a gradual change towards selectiveness. Though it was never enough to me to warrant a removal, going with mostly his preferences showed, to an extent, a degree of selfishness.
It is normal for members to become closer friends with some members than others, but to have favoritism in who to help out is something that goes against one of the tenets of the linkshell.
More concrete examples that Myrrh would be selfish when it comes to gear were made aware to me when my friend Anderoc had told me that, in endgame shells, Myrrh would be one to occasionally lot gear despite it being agreed that another member would make better use of it or was planned to lot on it.
An example of this was when Necrosis was lotting for Goliard Clogs but then Myrrh suddenly lotted it, won, and said that he only lotted to beat out Necrosis.
All of this was enough for me to consider it too much a risk for Soulstar to allow Myrrh to obtain YYR. Both Myrrh and Soulstar were working keeping up Shikigami's ToD. What Soulstar already had in mind was for the high level SMNs in the LS, including Myrrh, to get their YYR. This was shown in the following image, quote: "We need to pimp out our SMNs!" Despite Soulstar's enthusiasm, throughout the rest of the topic Myrrh had never responded to that. Alone, it neither shows that Myrrh did nor did not plan to help the other SMNs get their gear. But consider what was already mentioned, and what will be mentioned.
After I had told Soulstar to not trust Myrrh and should lot on the YYR. Peculiarly, Myrrh confronted Soulstar today with the proposition that were the YYR were to drop from Shikigami, Myrrh would be the only one to lot and thus be exclusively entitled to the drop. Soulstar conceded, eclipsing his own fears of the item dropping and going specifically to one person. The peculiar thing was that Myrrh even proposed that he be the one to first obtain the YYR. Since he is not the only SMN in the LS, and considering our LS promotes community rather than individualism, it would have been second nature to assume that all LS SMNs were entitled to the YYR were it to drop, if they were there camping of course. Instead, Myrrh followed the behaviors that correlate with the characteristics typical to self-interests. Adding to this, most of the argument from those on the other side is that Myrrh was keeping up the ToD for a longer period of time before Soulstar began. This really is irrelevant within the context of our linkshell, and exposes the self-centeredness of some people. This would have proven to be irrelevant if Shikigami continued not dropping and Soulstar would keep following up with the ToD.
After the lot was done and Soulstar obtained the YYR, I sent a /tell to Myrrh disclosing that I was the one who told him to lot the item when I was aware of his friends verbally assaulting Soulstar. I said to Myrrh why I told Soulstar to lot, which was that Myrrh was not to be trusted, as stated in the beginning of this post. Myrrh never responded to me when I told him that he couldn't be relied upon to exert the effort to help Soulstar get his own YYR. In the beginning, there might be occasional times camping, but analogous to helping other LS members in general, it would have dwindled down to little or no time and effort given.
First, the image of me /telling Myrrh:
It is not apparent in that image that he never responded to me afterwards, if not for the following:
The first omission that of not replying to my open distrust of Myrrh in relation to gear indicated that either he was far too upset to want to denounce it or the unspoken admittance to the truth. Though that can be open to opposing interpretations, I am one to stand on the belief that it is far more likely that not denouncing a claim is a silent surrender. This does not completely toss out the possibility that one would be too frustrated to want to do anything but be frustrated. However, for the rest of the night, I was still not confronted with a denouncement of my supposition. As the previous image shows, I was met with hostility some time after the incident. I was accused of repeating an action, which in fact could not even be repeated since Alianne had announced ahead of time that his internet connection would be down. For the past week, this has shown to be the case and continues to be so. I have already personally been to Shikigami with Myrrh, and if I really was one to condone and even encourage gear theft, I would have already told Zerayla to plan on lotting a YYR if it dropped since she plans to get SMN up at some point. On this particular case between Soulstar and Myrrh, our disagreements led to an argument. This argument wouldn't have to happen today because it already would have if I had told her to plan on doing it herself before.
Do I encourage ninjalotting? No. If this were the case, it would have already been committed before during the past KSNM runs and fairly recent Ohat run between our LS and some PhoenixPimps members, including Cmdrfly himself. What I do encourage is prevention of naivety and to being used. It was done that way because I was only made aware of this after Myrrh's lot on the YYR was made, which was too late for us to have talked between Myrrh and Soulstar to discard the ordering of YYR lotting. Had I been made aware of this before the lotting or mob even popped, I would have made sure that BOTH members were entitled to the gear.
