You spend several minutes getting there (away from solo exp spot)
You raise them
Then...
....
...
nothing
... no ty
... not even <thank you>
... nothing
 
I was gonna reply with "People are dicks"...but after i thought about it, i also hate this.

Its kinda like when youre drivin, and you let someone go in front of you, i EXPECT the little wave, or a beep, or something. If not, expect to see me ridin up on the shoulder whippin you the finger.

A Thanks, a /bow, a /nod, fuckin anything, acknowldedge the fact that i just assisted you, so that i know that there are still people out there that appreciate a good deed nowadays.

I actually was thinking about this as well. While SAM is my only job above 20, there have been numerous occasions when I've stopped some random newb from dying to aggro. One particular instance forced me to never drop by the dunes to help again.

One of my friends was in a pt, lvling a sub and I, having nothing else going on, decided to just pop by and see how he was doing. So after I find em, they're killing pugs and snips and stuff and doing fairly well.

Then night came and the bogy's came out.

My friend was well versed on what bogys could do to a pt at that level, so his party stayed away from it. The floating ballsack decided to go rape another party, so I try to help out. It aggros their blm in the middle of a fight, so I kill it, expecting a "lol thanks" or at the very least a "/nod" or "/bow" from the blm. What do I get?

"Hey you stole our kill you fucktard! We were gonna go for a chain!"

People should be greatful when they recieve an R3 from my mule. R1s are a bit meh, unless I have to really go out of my way.

You also have to ask the question. Would *they* have trecked across a zone to raise me if I asked?
 
Why bother asking the question? You know that the answer is "No" they wouldn't. Make it easy on yourself and only help people who can coherently ask and thank you before you raise. I've died trying to raise assholes needing a raise. Not only have I died, but I've been forced to homepoint AFTER they got someone to raise them. And this was level... 63? Couple thousand XP gone. It is exactly what it is. Nice people are used like toilet paper, discarded after their shit on. Don't be one of those nice people when you know you're just going to be flushed down anyway.

I go out of my way just to raise someone and when I get there...

Raise isn't so bad. What's weird is I get people asking me for warp 2... IN TOWN. they'll see me walking by, follow me around, keep asking... is weird...

It's a damn town... just change to a lvl 1 and die if you haven't lvl blm to 17.

The lack of thanks is bad enough...even worse when it's crap like people asking for raise several zones away (i.e. getting asked for a R3 at Aery zone...while I'm in Ru'Aun...)

Though it's not nearly as bad as getting asked to Raise someone and going out, only discovery that they (1) already got raised, and/or (2) asked multiple people to come raise them and didn't tell any of the others not to come once one said yes. I mean what the hell...
 
It's reasons like that why it's amazing how often I'm busy sitting in Whitegate.
 
It's all these reasons (Mainly Mish's) that i just stopped raising people. I was nice once and raised as many people that asked but now....fuck em.

I'm always thankful for a raise, which I only ever really need one if I'm on a lower lvld job like nin or something. I spam /kneel or /bow after I get up because its the least I could do, honestly.

That's why you charge them, lol.

To the raising thing, not only am I always grateful, but if it saved myself or my party alot of hassle, helped me keep my lvl, or was just in a difficult spot for a raise, I will sometimes offer up a reward.
 
I hate it when you're at a urinal, about to start pissing... and then some guy walks up and takes the one RIGHT next to you, even though there's open ones with no other people nearby.... Then your stream stops 'cause you're wondering if he's gay and staring at your schlong... I can't piss under pressure man, I just can't handle it.

Try pissing in a ski lodge bathroom. Not only will there be a person on eitehr side of you, but there will be 3-4 guys waiting in line by the door, and another 4-5 outside the door waiting to get in to wait some more. Talk about pressure.

And if you have to go in the stall, and it might take a while? Oh man... that's rough.

I call that a shy bladder =P I always take a stall, never a urinal.
