Spine-chilling Kuftal Tunnel

Actually, Guivre is TRUE sight only and has ALMOST the same line of sight distance as beloved Faust. Been by him many of times and never once have I had to use sneak just don't let it eyeball you

The TRUE sight part. I ran by all these people partying to go exp on cocktrices in the Cape. I also ran right through Guivre head on. I had sneak and invis. I ran right in front of him then proceeded to run through him and got zero aggro. So I tend to disagree with the true sight part.

True sight = tunnel vision as well so if you stick to his sides you're ok. He is true sight that's the facts believe it or not. If you had ran into him "head on" you'd be dead on top of the others.

At 61 on the way to our Teriggan camp, I got caught by surprise by the big effer as I climbed up the hill past that large open room. Level 61 war, 1279 HP, 289 base def = dead in 3 hits. Alla reports her as 82-83, and I have no doubts about that.

Other than the rank 3 dragon, the only other dragon I've met is the Shadow Dragon in Xarcabard.
 
Oh yes. Guivre makes sure she does good tearing up Kuftal.

I still remember one of my Amemet runs. Two different groups of gilsellers, two parties CCing the gilsellers, an exp party, and an alliance that was skilling up all were in that room. Soon we see a ton of people running towards us. She killed them (9-10 ppl), killed both groups of gilsellers killed, both of the parties CCing, the exp party, the whole alliance, the five to six spectators who had never seen Guivre and wanted to get up close, and the three BLMs who were trying to get us tractored so we could get raised. That was one hell of a graveyard. 65-67 people dead all from one stop by her. That must of made her day.

Then skilling up with Vasage, a gilseller got aggroed then ran it toward us and got Vas killed. I raised him, reraised myself, invisibled us, went AFK for 30 seconds to grab a drink (she wasn't even in sight when I afked) and came back to both of us dead and me already 20 seconds in to my timer. x.X

I'll have my revenge someday... someday.....far...in...the...future.
 
Ah, but Guivre is not a dragon. He's a wyvern. Thus why he drops stuff like Wyvern Scales and Wyvern Wings, not Dragon Scales and such. Dragons are ones like the Shadow Dragon in Xarcabard and the rank 3 dragon. And things like Fafnir/Nidhogg, Ouryu, Tiamat, Jormungand, and Vrtra are Wyrms.

But yeah, I remember one time when I went into Kuftal as THF/WHM for Sneak and Invis while I looked for a coffer to use a key I had gotten... Ran through the Amemet room and re-applied Sneak on top of a gil seller's corpse (Enjoylife, I believe). Then I get a tell from him asking for a raise. XD I declined of course, but I didn't have Raise anyway (my WHM was 20 at the time). Then I saw Guivre a little bit farther down the tunnel, quickly typed "oh shit!!" to my LS, then turned and ran the other way. XD

So yeah.... I haven't been a Guivre corpse yet, but I probably came close that time. XD
 
Ive been trying to mug that damn dragon for 2-3 months now im guessing. The damn thing keeps running away from me. It kils everyone but me. it took like a month of searching while it was up to find it. It's like a ninja. It kills the rest of my party and hides from me.Plus everytime i get within 20 feet of it it start moving its butt away from me faster than i can safely keep up with it.

thank you all for successfully scaring me away from Kuftal :lol: . i'm going to dread having to go there now... :cry: , but, w/e, ya win some ya loose some.
 
Had a party waiting for me in terrigan, was running through kuftal tunnel and turned corner and walked through the side of guivre's head. He was chasing someone to zone who didnt make it. Next to terrigan zone was a bunch more corpses, some of whom I raised (I raised raisers) and a 74 nin. He said he had been trying to solo it. I asked how it was going, he said he died 4x so far. So I wished him good luck and went to my pt, who told me that guivre isnt soloable. The nin was learning that the hard way.
 
Heh, I finally had a Guivre experience of my own yesterday. My party arrived in Kuftal Tunnel and rounded that first corner. I was lagging behind, so I got there just in time to see this big-ass wyvern stalking toward us like a hungry T-rex. The galka PLD's lifebar went from full down to red down to dead. I turned around and started back for the zone as it took out our RDM.

Tractors and raises out of the way, we waited for Guivre to run by again so we'd have a clear shot for the Terrigan line. I thought it was making a circuit, so we let it pass and then followed it. Ha! It turned around and started back after us. Down goes the PLD again. More tractor and raise goodness.

We wait on a ledge on the east side of that large open area while it's moving back and forth. When the PLD is ready, I sneak us and we head out. The PLDs sneak drops, but he doesn't move to safety and gets some truly spectacular crab aggro and dies again. I think it took us thirty minutes to get through the tunnel.

It was one of the most intense in-game experiences I've ever had. You're never more aware of being a tissue paper taru WHM than when you have something that huge coming your way.

have a screen of good old guivre but upon inspection of the shot i felt it unneccessary to post as i had to zoom in like 8 times to be able to make him out ........ HELL NO i didn't get any closer :lol: i find it's best to view things like that from a distance for i am crunchy and taste good with ketchup.
