Star Fox Command

Saw the commercial for this on tv finally, looks like you could be right about it Skaw, it may finally redeem the Star Fox series after those bombs they dropped on the Gamecube.

Somewhat disappointing about Peppy though, kinda liked the way he fit in with the team.

Gonna have to set aside a few bucks to get a copy of this one, may be my next DS addiction since Tetris DS.
 
I'm hoping that they don't fail on the Multiplayer set up. Metroid Prime: Hunters perfected set up, anything else will be a huge let down, especially blind multiplayer like in Lost Magic and Mario Kart. :(
 
Finally got all of my DS mod tools. I'll grab the rom dump of this and try it out. If I like it enough, I'll buy it. =)


Edit: I don't like the "friend code" thing in multiplayer DS games. I prefer the old fashoned server lists and you can't see other people's servers unless you have their code and they have yours.

I'll probably pick this up, although I'm going to have to commit blasphemy by saying I kinda liked Starfox Adventures. It was like Zelda-lite. I can see how it would be disappointing given the nature of the series to that point, but it wasn't that bad.

And of course, everyone should post their Friend codes when they get it so I can update the list.
 
I'm not sure how the wifi will work with a rom. Supposedly it'll work but I'll have to try it out.
 
Some potential bad news. According to my sources(nsider forums,) SFC's WiFi Browser is akin to Mario Kart's. This is full of fail and lose.


However, I say potential, because I don't think they're talking about friends list matches.
 
Ok, Peppy's not dead, and not retired, per se. He's the new general of the military. Pepper has "fallen ill."
 
Any comments so far on this game? I think it's pretty good and I've only been through two missions as of yet.

Was hoping to control the arwing with the controls instead of the stylus, but it's really easy to pick up on.
 
Multiplayer is pretty retarded. You could be the numbah one killah in the match, and still lose because they use "Star Points" instead. That is, when a player is destroyed, they leave behind a star that anyone can pick up. Yeah. Pretty fucking dumb.

Also, if one person drops out, the game ends.

Pretty much. As cheap as people can play in Metroid, atleast they have to work to win. I mean, Star Fox is fun, but the way they go about distributing score is just grossly idiotic.

However, I like the ranking system. Even if you come dead last, as long as you have atleast one star point, your rank increases. The only way to lose ranking is to disconnect, or get shut out.
 
I need to check out the wifi on Contact. Maybe it's decent.
 
Gotta agree about the star points thing, it's really annoying to see a scavenger sneak in a snag the reward from your fresh kill, but at least you can do the same back.

Either way, I'm still enjoying the WiFi gameplay and solo gameplay, and isn't that really what games are all about?
 
Oh man, playing through again with the other paths unlocked. I'm teaming up with Leon and Panther from Star Wolf. lol.

Okay yeah, Panthers ship is freaking sick. Does a ton of damage per shot, but refire is pretty slow. Kills all light ships in one volley.

Leons is pretty cool, rapid fire lock on. Pretty weak lock on shots, but you don't have to spend much time to relock between them. Plus he has a TON of armor.

I suck hard with Falco. Luckily playing the game through a route where he goes solo(Going paths that involve avoiding Star Fox, but aided by Bill and Katt) was short. Ending was kinda cool, he gets depressed that they won without him(Falco fights a reincarnated Pigma instead of the Emperor,) but he decides to make his own team with Katt and Dash.

I farted at the end when the guy is saying F U and Peppy is constantly repeating himself making him even more mad. Rofl Im still rofling

Edit: I cant listen to it clearly after Peppy starts saying "You're mine!" Rofl i cant watch it again after i just ate...... I got a headache laughing too hard.
