1-9 people in broward county own at least 1 gun. We need gun control.

fuck i can go to walmart and buy a 9mm handgun with only showing my state Id. No background checks nothing

No, you can't. If so, the person who sold you the gun, if caught, would be jailed. Florida requires a criminal background check, five day -mandatory- waiting period, and the 90 day U.S. residency period as required by Federal Law. Problem is, in Florida, there are no mechanism in place to -automatically- alert stores on the validity of peoples 90 day U.S. residency check. It's a simple loophole is all. Blame the stores.

As for the place you describe, spend a night in South Dallas and you'll be glad to go home. There are places like that or worse in every state. However, living there and dealing with it is a position you put yourself in. Personally, I'd never do that to myself, ever. If you don't like it, move. If you can't move, retrace your life steps and you'll probably find a point where you could have done something about that problem.

Lol oak cliff yo!

Hardly the most dangerous place in America.

Statisically your about average. I don't have any national data for 2007 like you have for Broward, but your population there since 2006 is 1,753,162. The amount of murders in 2006 was 87.

This means for every 100,000 people you have about 4.8 murders.

The national average for 2005 (furthest I could get) was 5.6 murders per 100,000.

Even if you take into account the 2007 data so far, your still a little under average, you would of course need to take into account increased population also.

Chill dude, you don't live in the murder capitol of the world. Yet.

i am from a small town in Nj with very little crime, so this why this is a big change for me.

dood... your down near Miami... Broward Ft Laurderdale and Miami your asking for it. I live about 40 miles north of there and theres almost nothing compared to the crime down there.

Sorry but...

Forgive the shitty alignment.

State

Michigan Detroit | 884,462 | 21,394 | 473 | 1
Maryland Baltimore | 637,556 | 20,816 | 433 | 2
Louisiana New Orleans | 431,153 | 2,255 | 376 | 3
New Jersey Newark | 280,877 | 2,839 | 374 | 4
Missouri St. Louis | 346,879 | 8,605 | 372 | 5
California Oakland | 398,834 | 7,599 | 364 | 6
DC Washington | 581,530 | 8,408 | 291 | 7
Ohio Cincinnati | 309,104 | 3,766 | 288 | 8
Pennsylvania Philadelphia | 1,464,576 | 22,883 | 277 | 9
New York Buffalo | 280,494 | 3,957 | 264 | 10

And where does Miami sit on said list?

Florida Miami 14
:shok: Kansas City, Missouri has higher numbers than Miami, ffs.

I'm not saying that the Miami area isn't the safest place to live, but like anything else, there are *always* worse alternatives.

My :2cents: : put up or shut up.
