I was so happy i saved up enough money for an Ipod mini. I spent $250 for it got home poped in the Itunes CD and what to my surprise, Itunes only works with Win 2000 and XP. I run on ME which has done me fine so i saw no need to upgrade. But now i can't buy music or get upgrades for my Ipod through Itunes. But there is a way i can get music on my ipod with out itunes, but its just not the same *sigh* oh well

250 Itunes charges 1 dollar per song downloaded. 50 songs download an extra 50 bucks. In the long run you're better off with a good ol' cd player.

I looked at iTunes.com, and they only have the XP and 2000 version. I just got an iPod, so I don't know if there's a way to do it without iTunes, but I don't think there is. I'll let you know if you find anything out.

Or you can rip your CD's to .mp3, or transfer them from the CD to the iPod through iTunes.

Why is anyone still using a flawed system like ME? I mean maybe 98, but that is still a stretch. Ipods are a rip off. Just go with a default brand that plays .wmv and mp3s. If you are ever hooked up to a college campus lan, you can download lots of songs for free through itunes from other computers and use a conversion program change them into mp3s to allow them to run on default players.

but the thing with Itunes is the fact that they aren't even CD quality and you don't even own them. If I was getting a free Ipod I wouldn't be complaining either :P.

Hows that?

I dunno its some thing in the terms of service or whatever, that the songs aren't actually yours, or something. I may actually be wrong about that. But they are most certainly not CD quality.

iTunes music store seems like kind of a rip off to me. Ninety-nine cents for a song I could get for free from other means just seems silly. You can never seperate me from my iPod though. Not even with candy.

Buy the CD's and support the artist and label. Anything less is stealing. How'd you like for someone to steal your stuff?

That aside if someone tried to seperate my ipod from me it would be a sad day for their family/friends/anyone who cares about them. 300+cd's in one piece of equipment = <3

Itunes blows.......

The rahvine is correct, once you uninstall itunes or stop subscribing to it the musics nolonger works, I gave thier 14 day trial a go, decided it blows (music quality is ghetto) and got rid of it. went to play my playlist in winamp, nothing worked. stick with sher**a or bearsh**e

Edited : Cause I lost at using the internets

Phew...at least I didn't make myself look like a total idiot there.
:P

The whole concept of buying music is dumb anyways. Why would I buy an entire CD if I only enjoy one song from that record? The fact of the matter is that the actual artist's fanbase are always gonna buy there CD's. And CD sales were up by like 30 percent this past year, making that whole file sharing causes revenue loss shit proven erroneous. I still can't believe that stupid court decision or whatever.

This site strictly prohibits links to, or discussion of how to, pirate anything, just a friendly warning from your neighborhood Galka. 8)

I like the Dave Matthews Band's view on thier music. It's only piracy if it's a studio release, and even then they don't care because they make thier money off of their sold out tours around the country. They allow, by a strict artist's choice, the free trade of any of their live concerts recorded by fans, and even allowed plugging into their switchboard for recording some concerts.

Any good musician doesn't make their money off of studio releases, it's off of live shows. Ever think about how much money a single concert brings in? 20-40 thousand tickets at 20-200 a ticket for an average band, $500k about per concert, even with expenses, thats bank. And they do at least 20 concerts a year, say the band makes even only 10% of that profit in the end, that's 1 mil profit for the band. They aren't gonna starve off of that kind of money, and it's not like they're working harder than a construction worker making 40k a year.

"Ending" piracy is a moot effort. It's like ending war or greed, it's in human nature, you can't get rid of it entirely. Ever since recorded sound was able to be duplicated, there has been an underground system of copies being distributed for free/cheap. ITunes is selling you something as crappy as recording a song off the radio into your PC and playing it on a portable player. If you want to pay $1 per song for something you can get for free off of the radio, be my guest, and I'll be spending my money on the tickets to see a live band.
