Sub Job party restrictions damnit!!

If you want to be creative, just get a linkshell group for it. You'll never make the general population want to try anything new. If you consider the number of pro-individuality people floating around, there must be enough to form a linkshell. I used to think playing XI how you wanted was important, but even I conformed eventually. The majority of XI involves a collection of 5 other people and you doing something they don't want to be doing (exp'ing), so rather than make it enjoyable, they rush through it as quickly as possible, under the impression that there's a pot of gold at the end of the rainbow, which of course never materializes and they start all over with a new job. The problem with individualists in XI is that they think exp sessions should be fun. The general population thinks they should be work, and treats them accordingly. Don't say, "It's just a game" - you'll get picked on. Say "It's just a job" and you'll fit right in. Rush to 75 with an optimal job combination in a desired class, and just remember that the fun part is always two steps ahead of you in the popular mentality.

Lol.
I saw a BRD/WAR once and died laughing.

Well, I had a WAR/BRD in my Valkurm Dunes party. And I also saw that he jacked up the price of Reraise II when I needed it.

lol, that just means the guy is an asshole. And its not a bad subjob.

So if I came up to you as a WHM/BLM and raised the price of some item you need, WHM/BLM causes inflation? Riiiiight.....

Bard isn't a bad subjob? What game are you playing? o_O

rdm/brd in valk healing + paeon = NICE

Rather than a WHM/BLM, you have a WHM/NIN with a RDM/??? Casting refresh on said WHM. Then it can double as both and tank and healer.

Um, yeah, BULLLLLLSSSSHHHHHIT! No, just No. Whm/Nin is not tanking anything in an xp party. A Drk/War would do better. Sorry.

It takes away the individualism that you have.

and there it is folks! The classic contradiction that revolves around every post like this!

"I wasnt individualism but I'm pissed at you because you won't let me group with 5 other people!!!11!!!"

Can you see the glaring contradiction there?

Yar. Though DRG is interesting subjob wise. Because of the effects on the Breaths. DRG/RDM,WHM,BLM can be useful in a Party. WHM is really the best one, because people generally don't uh, resist -na spells. lol. So you can use your sub's MP to the best of it's ability. Healing and helping a WHM who's flooded with other things. They make great back up healers, as with the AF Helm, if the tank's HP Drops below 50% I can heal him for roughly 220 HP, at teh cost of a 7 MP Dia. Oh, And if he's getting pummeled I can pretty much spam healing breath.

Individualism. Not Isolationism. Two seperate ideas.

Wanting to be a whm tank is an isolationist idea. No one wants a whm who is going to be the tank rather than the healer, so you won't get parties if you're going to tank; hence you're isolating yourself from everyone else. If you want to be an individual, stand out in a good way; rather than playing the job wrong.

LOL either way. You are obviously new to the game. Let me explain something to you.

This is a TEAM oriented game. Almost everything you do here requires working with other people to accomplish a goal. Everyone in the team fullfills a specific need of the team. What you are trying to do is drive a Honda in a drag race and getting pissed off when others back the muscle car.

Let me put it to you another way. There are jobs out there that excell at everything. If you want to do something, why not choose the job that is best at it? You want to tank and cure? Why not choose Pld? It is sooooo much better suitted to that role than a Whm.

I see you are War/Rdm. If you want to do Dmg and cast, go Drk. While War/Rdm is "ok" at very low levels, you will find that at higher levels that it really SUCKS. You will have little mp. Your offensive spells won't do dick, and your enfeebles will be resisted lke 98% of the time. While you could cure, you can't cure much with your MP pool, and then you have to rest MP which will kill off all of your TP.

If you need help selecting the right job, feel free to ask.

I think someone else already asked, but I didn't see an answer. Who exactly is going to be the healer if the WHM is the tank?
