Just a balloon thought I had.

I think it'd be nifty to have a tech support forum, for all our electronic malfunctions whether they be PC related or not. Sometimes search engines just don't cut it (I'm currently having trouble encoding some videos and Google has been most unhelpful, that's actually what spawned the idea).

Anyway, just thought I'd see what the masses/admins thought of the idea.

I completely agree - even if it were a usergroup "QCDN HelpDesk" or something. I use this forum a good bit for quick tech advice that I don't get elsewhere.

I can dig it.

I like this idea.

Would be the perfect place for those "My FFXI isn't working!" topics too so they don't clutter up General Discussion.

ugh, that'd have to be an entire subforum :D

With a auto post bot that says "We are currently working on this known issue. Please be patient."

Did you make sure all of your network cables are properly connected?

Every single answer would be either PEBCAK or PICNIC.

This sounds like a great idea, I know there are quite a few tech critters on the forums daily. As long as there's none of the "omg u fukkin newb!" when it comes to basic computer repair banter I'd love to help and learn a bit more :D

I like the idea too ;o

I'm not a giant fan of breaking down forums into sub-forums of sub-forums of sub-forums. Maybe it's just me, but for a site that isn't really that heavily trafficked about a game that is slowly dying off, sub-dividing all of these forums seems like more work than it's really worth. GD sees what, 2 new threads a day? And that's being generous. Especially with the subbing of announcements. Job forums and event forums are cute, but I think it would be much better served without dividing it into every job/mission/quest/whatever.

Where do you draw the line? Sub-divide the AH into Rare, EX, Rare/EX, non-AH ables, and normal items? Kind of silly if you ask me.

QFT for most of QCDN.

However, tech support seems like a whole new board to me, and I like the idea. I guess you might put techie things in the general gaming forum now, but that forum doesn't really spur that type of conversation.

could always make it one of the private forums that's oh so popular right about now :D Just like parachute pants!

A whole forum seems unnecessary. At this point I was thinking of just adding it as a subform to general gaming...

Why not here in SF&A?
