Suikoden IV...

The boat is the bane of that games existance...

WHY CAN'T I CONTROL IT!? WHY IS THERE A RANDOM BATTLE EVER 10 SECONDS!? ; ;

Final Fantasy as well as any other RPG takes a backseat when a Suikoden game comes out, for me anyway :wink:

There's a special place in my heart for the Suikoden series...

I can still rememeber taggin along with my best friend to go buy it back in '97 and watching him play. It was pretty different from anything we had ever played before and we both loved it.

As of 4, i am much relieved as it resembles the first 2 more than it does 3 - a very good thing in my opinion. As for the boat? You'll learn to avoid islands and how to properly approach a land point pretty fast hehe Random encounter rate is pretty high (more so on the seas) but theres really nothing you can do about it so all you can do is get used to it^^

I'm not very far in mind you, but it's very fun and brings back lots of good memories...

PC FFXI and Suikoden on PS2 ^^v much fun ^^v but I left mah PS2 back home while at college

Because, you have 80 some odd characters to level up! Lol. Another joy of the Suikoden games. I cant believe so many review sources spoke so poorly of this game. I purchased it, and i've dedicated much time to it thus far, as it is highly impressive. From a graphical standpoint, I would put it on par with anything out there currently on the PS2, including Snake Eater. The ship moves sluggishly for that realism effect. Boats take -forever- to move about, but eh. I like it.

I agree that it is much more like 1 and 2 rather than 3. 3 lost the whole...element that the other two games had previously. I dunno what it was about it, but the Knights and European-esque direction the game took threw me off. The first two had dark-age elements, but it had a lot of japanese-type characters and games and the like involved in it. Suikoden 4 has revived that, it seems. A wonderful game.

And for $39.99, I'd utterly reccomend it to any RPG'er.

graphics dun make a game ^^v the fact you spend 10 minutes just getting places... boring XD kinda like with FFXI >_> XD

The graphics are nice. Sort of.

All the people look...fake. Glassy and doll-like. Like you're playing with china dolls. Expressionless. They're kind of creepy >_<

My big complaint is... why couldn't I load in my Suikoden 3 data!!!!?!?!? I've got a game being continued from the very first suikoden and it has been tragically cut off.

I was disappointed about that too. I even spent the week prior to 4's release finally beating Suikoden 3... What a pain that was, Chris's party of knights do not fare well against a magic based boss...

This game...isnt very fun. Atleast not compared to previous suikodens. I liked having 6 characters in battle. Picking 4(well 5 if u look at it differently) out of 108 isnt kool ><
